Unlock HTC one permanently - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I bought this phone from ebay. I live in europe and when I inserted my SIM I got a notification locked... and no signal, so I guess my phone is locked.
First is it sure than it can be unlocked to be used with any GSM SIM?
Can I unlock it permanently so that even when I update or flash another ROM my phone is unlocked?
Will a custom ROM unlock my phone?

Another question. As I live outside the US I don't have a Sprint SIM. Now the phone is activated, but will I be able to activate it if I update or flash a custom ROM? Please help me I'm desperate

Unlock your bootloader, flash root, then follow the simple guide to SIM unlocking. Should run around 5-10 min if you know what your doing. Look into the SIM unlock helper app by viperboy.

The unlock has survived RUU's with me, so I assume it's permanent. For compatibility, check the bands supported for gsm on the Sprint variant and compare to the network you'd be using. No, a custom Rom won't do it.

I already bought 2 htc one from sprint, unlocked it by an app that is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430448
your phone have to be rooted
only works on sense roms.

Thanks. What is that ap "Activation"? Does this phone need to be activated with a Sprint card if I flash a new ROM?

Quick Question

Hey guys, I just got the HTC Raider here in Canada on Rogers. I wanna know do I have to unlock the bootloader in order to root? Or is there a way to root without unlocking bootloader?
Thanks to everyone and anyone who can advise
Not at the moment, too root you have to flash a .zip through recovery so you will need to unlock your bootloader in order to gain root.
Hey Mr Patchy Patch, remember you from the X10 days.

I just got this thing today, love it, but hate not having root access.
went to the htc thing for unlocking bootloaders, but in the pulldown box rogers isnt there....I dont get it
The HTC Vivid (AT&T) option should work. Haven't heard any problems with any Bell users unlocking through HTC dev and selecting HTC Vivid.

If I try that can it brick my phone?

Nope, if the Unlock code is unsupported then it will tell you and won't allow you to continue.

I have a raider and I had no issue unlocking. From what I heard if we do get s-off it should be effected by us doing the HTC unlock.

Working SIM Unlock Method

I'd like to report that this SIM unlock method works for our device as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272080
Can anyone else confirm if this method does in-fact work on the Raider?

Just thought i'd say it worked for me on my HTC Vivid i just got, now using on Tbaytel/Rogers
Ok so I have done this and i believe it worked but i cant fully confirm it as i do not have a active sim card at the moment. I did try it with a verizon lte card and a verizon vodaphone sim and a tmobile sim all did not give me the normal sim locked error. So i believe this worked. will post back when i know this works for sure.
It worked on my Rogers Raider as described in the instructions
This method need S-Off. I have HTC Vivid with ICS and has been rooted but don't know how to S-off this phone. Can anyone let me know what you did? Thx
Use the superguide. It walks you through most all of it. If you nerd help with the actual s-off part PM me and I'll try and help you out.

Unlock HTC ONE - Three UK

Anyone know how I can unlock my Three branded phone?
I know Three will unlock but charge £15/20!
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
I'd like to know too, having hit the HTC Dev "sorry it aint going to happen" error message when transferring the code across to the HTC site. I've seen sites that will do this for money so I know there's a solution out there. After many years of Android and unlocking I don't particularly want to pay someone for something that should be public knowledge.
I got a code from eBay for £3 and it worked fine... Send me a pm with your email and send you link....

Can't say about UK, but my HTC One on 3 Sweden was no problem unlocking bootloader from HTC Dev at beginning of last week... Just wanted to clarify in case other swedes read and give up in advance... Find it strange that the same carrier would have different policys in different countries but fairly new to the game so I'm not sure.

I unlocked my 3 UK branded HTC one via htcdev
If HTC one is not in drop down menu
Then select other models option
This worked for me
Edit
Not sure if op means unlock bootloader, which is via htcdev as above or carrier unlock, to use a non 3 SIM, which is a different process
You will be emailed an unlock token that you should save, as this can be used to unlock your phone again should you relock

International ROM
Can anyone here give me simple starter instructions to reflash my vodafone htc one with international stock rom
I dont want a custom rom just a non vodafone rom form HTC, EU or World.
It is SIM unlocked Bootloader locked.
Can this be done without rooting?
Just switched form Samsung where it was easy to switch to a different rom by flashing without rooting...is there a similar way with HTC?

Thinking of changing form an Xperia Z with a locked bootloader - would you be so kind as to confirm whether the HTC One on 3 UK has a locked down bootloader? The XZ bootloader is locked down tighter than a duck's behind.

Hello, I have a bell HTC one. It is soff. Am wondering if SIM unlocking is possible through soff. Have looked around but haven't found anything. I'm running Reno, 1.55 hboot, ang 3.62 firm ware. Thanks

don't think there's much development on this seeing in some parts of the world that might be illegal and you can get an unlock code for as much as 3$

You can flash any rom that has Sprint compatibility build into it.
I am on 4.4.3 (viper 2.3) but I am having issues installing to stock lollipop ROM, the RUU setup does not finish installing. Is there a stock zip file to use?

You'll have to search around the mods section. I'm 99% sure there's an international version of the GPE for the M8.

Hi.
Hi don't know if any one was herel lol soo I have a HTC evo lte Sprint and a HTC one m8 also Sprint how do I get cyanogen to flash on the Evo with s on. And now if I root the m8 still thinking about it... How will i flash say the new marshmallow jw build that's on XDA? Or any Rom for that matter with s-on cuz I'm not sure if I'll get it turned off on the m8?
From what I've read you just have to go to htcdevv unlock your device. Then go to twrp install then choose ROM.

You should really be asking Evo 4G Lte questions in that sections Q&A.
The reason it bootloops is because you need to flash the kernel/boot.img aswell as the rom when that device is s-on.
@Magnum_Enforcer has a great guide on how to do that in the Evo 4G Lte General section.
Check out my Hboot guide for the EVO LTE. Link is in my signature. It has a section on S-on kernel flashing. Read & follow the directions and you should be good to go.
Sprint GPE port ROM works with international GSM fine with me.
