So, I had s-off, then I did Super CID, flashed the 3.22 base radio and all that, but then I was thinking of going back to stock, and being the idiot I am, i accidentally ran the command to s-on. So now, I am stuck with the 3.22 firmware, radio, and ROM installed. RUUs haven't worked, and when I run 'fastboot getvar all' it says version main is 1.29 and cid is 11111111, and I am s-on. Have i perm rooted? If not, can someone please help me to find a way to get s-off and return to stock?
Thanks in advance,
Rick
Since you have super cid it bypasses some checks for s-on so I hope someone else can tell you more

I'm in the UK & have a sim free HTC One.
So I changed my CID to HTC__Y13 to enable me to get the 4.2.2 OTA early then changed it back to HTC__001 & sadly used Revone to S-ON again. I have no English (United Kingdom) setting in the system language, probably because the update wasn't meant for a uk phone, so my thought was to go back to the 1.28.401.7 RUU then update properly now the UK OTA is out. Obviously I can't do this because I have a 1.54 hboot & can't S-OFF again to flash the RUU.
What method can I use to be able to downgrade the hboot to 1.44, S-OFF & flash the 1.28 RUU? Can I unlock bootloader via HTCDev, flash a custom rom with a 1.44 hboot then go back to stock, lock bootloader, S-OFF then flash to RUU? I don't want to try this & wipe my phone if it won't work.
Anyone else figured a way to do it?
Cheers
Tim
From my understanding, there is no way of altering H-boot without S-off. I'm sure someone will cracking 1.55 in the future.

This is correct.
The update WAS for your phone, if a phone is x.xx.401.x in the UK and x.xx.401.x in the Netherlands they get the same OTA
Can you still change your CID? I read someone who lost S-Off but was still able to change to superCID (11111111)

If you aren't afraid to experiment.
That is simple for information, when my phone had leaked 2.17.401.1 ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224752
and
firmware from 2.17.401.1 RUU
from here (second post)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
My phone had HBOOT 1.54 and I without problems received S-OFF using alternate revone binary v0.2.1-wlj.
So , you can try this way
1) Unlock booloader
2) Flash latest custom recovery (I had TWRP)
3) Make nandroid backup your system
4) Flash 2.17.401.1 ROM
5) Try to get S-OFF using revone v0.2.1-wlj
I DO NOT guarantee success! If you do it, it is your risk!
Hi all, just wondering if someone with some knowledge can help assist me debranding my HTC One. I came from Samsung devices, and knew the ins and outs of rooting, flashing roms etc, but HTC devices seems so over complicated after reading through various forums.
All I want to do is debrand my Vodafone HTC One, and install the international uk firmware, and be able to receive ota updates in future.
I have been reading about changing Ruu, changing CID, and im just baffled by everything, although slowly starting to gain some knowledge.
Please I would appreciate if someone could give me the correct procedure to do this, do I need to unlock the bootloader before doing it? Already registered on HTCDEV website, just havnt unlocked bootloader yet.
I have spent hours reading info, and my head is practically going round in circles lol.
What do you mean by debranding? Do you mean putting a custom Rom on it?
Edit: I missed a section of what you said. I believe you have to unlock the bootloader, turn security off, and get Super CID.

I believe so, but you must have the international stock recovery on too for the OTA updates to work.

All the following is dependant on having an hboot of less than 1.54. If you are already on hboot 1.54, you will not yet be able to s-off and follow this process until an exploit is found for the 1.54 hboot. To check this, turn off your device and restart it whilst holding the volume down button. The information will be displayed.
1 Get S-Off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
2 Install super cid : fastboot oem writecid 11111111
3 Run RUU 1.28.401.7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2207874
4 Change cid to generic : fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
You will now receive ota updates to 2.24.401.1

Run revone, unlocked bootloader and s-off
change CID to HTC__001 or 11111111
run RUU for international M7 i would start with PN07IMG_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.16_R_Radio_4A.14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_318486_signed_2_4
once this is on the phone you should get all the OTA releases bringing you up to date.

Thanks for that info mate. I just checked and im on hboot 1.54, which means I wont be able to do this at the moment. Was that RUU you state an exe file? I guess I don't have to root or install any custom recovery to do this? First I need to wait on an exploit for sboot 1.54 to get s-off. Also it might be easier for me going down the custom rom route?

Until s-off is achieved for hboot 1.54, your only choice is custom roms. This should be fine as you are already updated to the latest firmware through Vodafone.

Ok cheers. I thought that I needed to be S-Off before I could install any custom rom, but I could root and install custom recovery with s-on?

Ok, now here goes lol. My understanding so far is that in order to install any stock ruu I must first get s-off. As im running stock Vodafone firmware, the CID must match this firmware. If I get s-off, I will be able to install any CID and stock rom, as long as they match one another. and as im on hboot 1.54 just now, supercid wont work yet, so s-off is a no no at the moment. I can still root and install a custom firmware though.
I recently switched my one over to GPE and now i want to revert to stock. I am running s-off and hboot 1.54. When I try to run the stock ruu exe for my phone i get an error 158, saying something to the effect that it is the wrong ruu. I know its the right one because ive used it before. Could my hboot version be the problem? If so would flashing 1.44 hboot fix this? Im using supercid 11111111.
As my instructions said, you have to put the 1.44 hboot back first.

I got into a bit of a mess myself trying to do the same thing but got it back in the end.
You need to change your mid back to your original one and, in my case, I had to flash a stock sense firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823 before I could run a sense RUU.
I figured it out. I had to flash 1.44 bootloader and when I did, the stock ruu went perfect. Thanks for the input though. Everyone on here has been a huge help.

When i bought my phone it had 1.31 on it. Its now unlocked and rooted running a 4.3 ROM. Can I use the 1.29 RUU to return to stock or do I need to wait for a 1.31 RUU? I tried searching but I'm still confused. I'd like to install 1.29 to gain s-off. Thanks in advance.
See here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2390821
S-Off using Revone and also use Revone to return bootloader to Locked and not Relocked or Tampered. Then you can run RUU to anything you want. Once you run RUU don't bother returning your device to S-On because in case you ever want to run a previous RUU again you can without issue until you return to S-On and at the same time you don't need root to return to S-On

Thanks for the quick replies. So revone will work on 1.31? Or do i have to follow the instructions in the link posted above? I thought I had to relock my bootloader then flash the 1.29 RUU to be able to use revone. One of the posters in the link above said he didn't have to downgrade from 1.31 to get s-off. My main reason for wanting s-off it to flash radios and firmwares. If i can use revone on 1.31 it would be much easier.
No, you do not need to downgrade from 1.31 to get S-Off using Revone. Just use the instructions in the Revone thread to get S-Off then use Revone to utilize the -t -l command to remove tampered and lock the bootloader instead of relocked and then run RUU. Flawless.

Thanks everyone. I tried revone with my phone running a 4.3 rom and it didnt work. I kept getting error 1 so I flashed ViperRom and went throught the steps again. I'm now s-off. Now I just need to learn how to flash the firmware and radios included in the 4.3 update. I'm used to my evo lte where i could just flash through twrp.
I am TMOB101 (the german t-mobile) i have successfully s-offed using rum runner.
There is no RUU for my phone as far as i know..
Is there a way to s-on again?
does rum runner backup my original hboot, so i can restore it to go back s-on?

You can flash the GuruReset ROM for your version: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-111-3-zip/
Make sure you choose to flash stock recovery and boot etc.
When all back to fully stock you are then safe to s-on again by issuing the following command: fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
Hope that comes in useful

Why do you need to s-on? And with s-off you can flash any RUU that you want. To s-on again, the command is "fastboot oem writesecureflag 3", but you need to be COMPLETELY stock before you do this, or you'll have a hard brick.

thank you for your answers.. I want to s-on to send back for warranty issues (purple tint).
I just want to understand how it works..
Rum runner installed an unsecured hboot. correct?
in order to s-off i need to go back to stock hboot first? people install RUU so they can install 1)stock rom, 2)stock radio, 3) stock recovery 4)stock hboot correct?
the Guru Reset rom just installs rom, recovery and radio (no hboot?)
can i just install any RUU and s-on? i thought i needed the one matching my phone
ok i found this http://www.htc1guru.com/guides/return-stock-guide/ and answered most of my questions.. except one:
As i said there is no RUU for me.. i will use a nandroid to restore most of the stuff. BUT there will be a mismatch between my stock Rom installed and the firmware (what is written in bootloader screen OS:XXXXXXX) How can i fix that?
can i just install the TMOB101 firmware from here http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.gr/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html and fix the mismatch?

Once you flash the guru reset, and then perform the OTA, you'll be on the same firmware after install.
Yeah but that will be different than the one my cid is supposed to have.. won't HTC service notice?
