Hi there,
I recently updated my 4X HD to Jelly Bean but now my mobile internet doesn't work anymore. When data is on, nothing happens.
My device was bought in the Netherlands but it was AHASBK (Austria) but everything worked fine. I'm using it in Belgium.
When the update to JB finished there were some weird Austrian stock apps I didn't have before.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance.
PS: Yes, I did a factory reset after I updated.

You don't explain how you upgrade your device...
Re-flash it again with LGFlash Tool.
You can find all the needed files here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38838927&postcount=7
The V20A from that post are 262-000, euro_open. If you want to use the one to Austria
you need to download the "HAS/HUTCHISON(AUSTRIA)":
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGP880/AHASBK/V20A_00/V20A_00.kdz
and extract the .dz file. There is somewhere a tutorial to extract.
Good luck.
I just did it with the LG Mobile support tool (sorry I forgot to tell) The problem is that I can't use mobile internet... is this because I've got the Austrian version while I live in Belgium?
Thanks

No, its not cause you have Austrian version and you live in Belgium...
I was in Antwerp with a polish and a portuguese device and never had problems.
Except if Autria have some "special" base_band
But you can check your internet settings, or make use of SIM Tool that you should have in your apps.
When I start SIM tool kit I get 4 options to choose from but none of them does anything. It's named Chat Box...

Probably depends on the provider... mine have six (6) options.
The last one is configurator.
Send request to the provider (HEYAH in my case, I'm in Poland) and after a while,
I receive a message that automatically sets my definitions.
I thought you had that option...
Any chance it will work if I flash the benelux JB version (when its available)?

My advice is for you to install the official one for your device.
If you want to use other, official euro_open will be the best second option.
Remember, do it with LGFlash Tool. It will mount needed partitions and format others. Factory reset will be made on first boot by program request, soo... if you want to save some data from your phone, do a backup.
From wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM_frequency_bands#Africa.2C_Europe.2C_Middle_East_and_Asia
!Multi-band and multi-mode phones
Today, most telephones support multiple bands as used in different countries to facilitate roaming. These are typically referred to as multi-band phones. Dual-band phones can cover GSM networks in pairs such as 900 and 1,800 MHz frequencies (Europe, Asia, Australia and Brazil) or 850 and 1900 (North America and Brazil). European tri-band phones typically cover the 900, 1800 and 1900 bands giving good coverage in Europe and allowing limited use in North America, while North American tri-band phones utilize 850, 1,800 and 1,900 for widespread North American service but limited worldwide use. A new addition has been the quad-band phone, also known as a world phone, supporting all four major GSM bands, allowing for global use (excluding non-GSM countries such as Japan or South Korea)."
I have the official one installed already (AHASBK - Austrian V20A installed) I think I'm going to give Europe open a try. I hate the useless Austrian stock apps anyway. Thanks for your help!

Since you flashed an LTE rom, the build prop of that rom is most likely to say C6603.
Look at the printed letters at the botton of your device, above the barcode, there should say the actual model number of your device.
There are no work arounds for c6602, even if you flash a c6603 ftf file, it wouldn't give you LTE capabilities.
If you really want LTE you need to purchase the c6603. Make sure it supports your carrier's LTE network frequencies.

Also even if it was possible, you need that your provider give you a 4G access and a 4G package, you're ****ed anyway, your phone doesn't handle the 4G, i'm sorry for you.
Keep in mind that only few people have actually the 4G access, the deployment is in progress in many countries and many towns and for many providers.

Well the xperia z is actually the C6603 and the non lte version is C6602. Anyway. Wifi calling it could be that this is a t mobile software related thing or u might be able to download it from the app store. Lte should work but I can't fully guarantee it. Since since 3 or out of 6 lte bands are supported on the Europe's version.

What? The OP is asking about the C6606. It doesn't matter which model you or I have or whether the LTE on the C6603 works in the US, as that has no bearing on the question at hand.

But isn't the Xperia Z u buy in a sony store the non branded C6603 even in the USA so the C6606 is the t mobile branded version and he wanted to know if when buying it directly from sony will work with everything. And it has some of the lte bands but not all. It could work on lte but also couldn't or only works half of the time since some bands are different on the xperia z in the sony store. But I could be wrong and the xperia z u buy in a sony store in the USA is the branded T Mobile C6606 version. Actually I just ed checked u get the C6606 and the non lte C6602 in the USA the C6603 must be the Europe only lte xperia z then.

It's not "pissy" to point out misinformation. This is not a social hangout. It's a development site. If you don't know the answer to something then don't post.
The whole first page of this thread is filled with you posting about things you don't know about and me correcting you (apart from the useful post by G1_enthusiast). That is not being helpful. It just wastes people's time.

I know the phone is LTE for tmobile it says so on the site. I just wanted to make sure that it was gonna have tmobile wifi calling, and my account features (basically everything that is on a phone when you buy it from tmobile directly) on the phone. As i understand it those features are in the tmobile operating system that they program directly into the phone and you cant just download from the app store. I could be wrong but i believe that is the case.

Probably a silly question to those familiar with the Z but is the 6603 the same as the 6606 (apart from all the tmobile crap loaded on it and the logo on the back)?
I'm already on tmobile with an xperia p and I'm looking at buying a Z, I can get a factory unlocked 6603 on amazon or I can buy a 6606 on the sony site.
Would I have access to tmobile LTE with the 6603?
Thanks in advance.
If you do not get the C6606 you will not have WiFi calling. That is a software specific feature for T-Mobile.
Even installing the .67 C6603 firmware/software on my C6606 removed WiFi calling as an option.
As for LTE I am uncertain. Spec wise it looks like you are covered. But I did not flash the baseband when I flashed my phone. So the modem is still from the C6606 and LTE is working. The only thing is that it shows 4G in the status bar rather than LTE.

I wanted to move to 4.2.2. There are some performance/lag issues with 4.1.x on the XZ. Also wanted to get on an international generic firmware so I would get updates quicker from Sony.

Hi,
Hoping someone can shed some light on this odd problem I have. I'm on EE in the UK which is at moment our only 4g provider. I smashed my old S3 LTE screen so my girlfriend (Who is on 02) upgraded early to an xperia z, which we were assured is 4g compatible. We had to unlock the phone to work on my network of course.
However, after unlocking I don't have the option to change to 4G in the network menu.
I've checked the following:
The phone is the C6603 model, which I double checked supported the bands and frequencies used by EE
I receive 4g in my area (Used to with old phone)
I checked with 02 that the phone was 4G compatible
However I'm guessing it's been turned off in the software that 03 loaded to customize the phone. I can't for the life of me find any info on the internet on how this is done or reversed, and I'm a little hesitant to flash the ROM as I would be murdered should I brick the thing.
Any ideas? Anything appreciated.
I flashed the Spanish 4.2.2 ftf file onto my UK 3 Z.
That gives me the option to use LTE networks. You might have to do something similar to get yours to pick up a LTE signal.
Did you say the phone was from O2?
Its also a piece of piss to flash ftf files. You don't even have to root or unlock the bootloader.

I have had trouble getting any of the roms here going on my phone. Coming from a long line of evos and galaxy's I am no stranger to rooting and modifying. What the hell, at least I am rooted and Happy with the nova launcher, almost good as a Rom.
Now I see kit kat is out for locked bootloader phones. Is there anyone that doesn't mind running down how to upgrade a c6606 phone without any surprises?

As far as exact process I would be interested in that too.
As for availability, either grab the ftf fir your region or wait for a rooted flashable Rom.
As far as the rest goes, t mo has been pushing app updates so we may get something.

I'm also curious, if I follow the directions in either of those threads will T-mobile LTE still work? That's the only problem I could see occurring since the c6603 and c6606 are almost identical aside from the radio bands. If anyone has already tried it please let us know, thanks.
It should work. I just flashed 4.4 earlier today on my c6606. Works fine. No longer says 4G but instead says H+. If anything you can keep the TMo baseband when you flash the kernel.

I ended up installing the update coming from the latest T-mobile firmware and excluding the baseband when flashing the tft file. Everything seems to be fine for me, I still get LTE speed only now the icon shows up as "4g" rather than "LTE" but that's fine. Out of curiosity does anyone here use the T-mobile Isis app and if so do you know how I can get it to recognize the phone as the T-mobile variant thus allowing me to use the app? I've tried replacing all instances of "c6603" with "c6606" in the build.prop to make it match the what was there in the original firmware, but I've had no luck.
