Hi there,
I recently updated my 4X HD to Jelly Bean but now my mobile internet doesn't work anymore. When data is on, nothing happens.
My device was bought in the Netherlands but it was AHASBK (Austria) but everything worked fine. I'm using it in Belgium.
When the update to JB finished there were some weird Austrian stock apps I didn't have before.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance.
PS: Yes, I did a factory reset after I updated.

You don't explain how you upgrade your device...
Re-flash it again with LGFlash Tool.
You can find all the needed files here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38838927&postcount=7
The V20A from that post are 262-000, euro_open. If you want to use the one to Austria
you need to download the "HAS/HUTCHISON(AUSTRIA)":
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGP880/AHASBK/V20A_00/V20A_00.kdz
and extract the .dz file. There is somewhere a tutorial to extract.
Good luck.
I just did it with the LG Mobile support tool (sorry I forgot to tell) The problem is that I can't use mobile internet... is this because I've got the Austrian version while I live in Belgium?
Thanks

No, its not cause you have Austrian version and you live in Belgium...
I was in Antwerp with a polish and a portuguese device and never had problems.
Except if Autria have some "special" base_band
But you can check your internet settings, or make use of SIM Tool that you should have in your apps.
When I start SIM tool kit I get 4 options to choose from but none of them does anything. It's named Chat Box...

I really have no idea how to fix this I'm such a noob

Probably depends on the provider... mine have six (6) options.
The last one is configurator.
Send request to the provider (HEYAH in my case, I'm in Poland) and after a while,
I receive a message that automatically sets my definitions.
I thought you had that option...
Any chance it will work if I flash the benelux JB version (when its available)?

My advice is for you to install the official one for your device.
If you want to use other, official euro_open will be the best second option.
Remember, do it with LGFlash Tool. It will mount needed partitions and format others. Factory reset will be made on first boot by program request, soo... if you want to save some data from your phone, do a backup.
From wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM_frequency_bands#Africa.2C_Europe.2C_Middle_East_and_Asia
!Multi-band and multi-mode phones
Today, most telephones support multiple bands as used in different countries to facilitate roaming. These are typically referred to as multi-band phones. Dual-band phones can cover GSM networks in pairs such as 900 and 1,800 MHz frequencies (Europe, Asia, Australia and Brazil) or 850 and 1900 (North America and Brazil). European tri-band phones typically cover the 900, 1800 and 1900 bands giving good coverage in Europe and allowing limited use in North America, while North American tri-band phones utilize 850, 1,800 and 1,900 for widespread North American service but limited worldwide use. A new addition has been the quad-band phone, also known as a world phone, supporting all four major GSM bands, allowing for global use (excluding non-GSM countries such as Japan or South Korea)."
I have the official one installed already (AHASBK - Austrian V20A installed) I think I'm going to give Europe open a try. I hate the useless Austrian stock apps anyway. Thanks for your help!

Hi I was wondering if there is any app or code to check and if so what to look for to see if LTE/4G is available on my Note? I have no idea whether is a hardware or frequency thing, or both, or none, or software (as in firmware enabled???)

LTE is definitely a Hardware thing.
But without driver it's not very useful
Like i know, there are different Models of Galaxy Note,
in the official american Samsung website aboute the Note, there is standing, that it comes with LTE/4G in the German website there isn't any information about LTE inside.
Also there is standing, that it depends on the Country, wehere you've bought it.
Sorry for my bad Englisch,
Schnizel
Yeah ultimately i know its a hardware thing...but from there is it the frequency or does something need to be enabled? possible settings via carrier. So i guess first step is checking it has the hardware...buy how?
thanks for your reply

I believe the only gNotes to have LTE will be the ones with a slower CPU.
The ones announced for ATT will have LTE support.
I'm pretty sure all the ones currently on the market don't have LTE hardware.

Every single N7000 doesn't and will not have LTE.
You want LTE? Just get I717 or E160.
My Optimus Black cames with v20j (Canada) and I understand that there's differences between regions like apps. But other than that, is there any real difference? I've used Spain's, Germany's, Europe's and the Philippines' roms and they all run the same.
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
From my own experience with canadian carrier "telus or koodo".
Some of the roms seem to not get a good connection to the network,
I went as far a sending my phone for repair, rerooted my device and reflashed but kept getting cant connect to network at this time. I do beleive some one else on telus had the same issue. Can' t recal his name
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app
Huh, I'm on Koodo and I've had no trouble with signal on any rom. I did find that some roms don't say I'm on Koodo, but Telus. But, Koodo is part of Telus so it makes sense.
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Telus
I'm with Telus and since I changed my original rom from a custom one I can't get phone signal outside of town.
It's because we have the lg p970g not lg p970. We have different phone signal for our roms this is why our phone are having signal issues.
I didn't find a way to correct this problem. But is there a flashable zip for a canadian rom becaus my usb port is broken and i can only charge my cellphone and change my rom with a flashable zip file.
hope we'll find a solution someday :S

I am using the 6603 model here in Canada, where most providers has 2600 Mhz LTE support. But I can only get 3G to work. This is what I found so far attempting with two different providers.
1) one of the providers cannot even find 4G when I do a network search, another can find it's 4G LTE access point, but cannot register to it
2) APN are set properly
3) LTE is selected as prefered already on phone
4) we have tried 4 different Xperia Z 6603 units and none of them will get 4G
Any thoughts on this, any additional info needed I can provide.
Thank you everyone :crying:

I'm interested in importing a 6603 myself. It could be that the radio software in the phone isn't set up to connect to just the 2600 LTE band. I know users of other phones have had to flash a different baseband in order to connect to their desired band frequency. But I have no clue. Just spitballin'. I hope someone figures it out soon though. It would make the decision to buy one much easier.

I know, but it doesn't mean the phone is natively ready to use that band on its own. For all I know the baseband on the Xperia Z connects to two band frequencies, one for upload and one for download. I have no idea why it's not working on Rogers LTE out of the box. Hopefully it's just a fairly simple software fix, but I can't say for sure.

I don't think Bell/Virgin uses the 2600 LTE band, so you're out of luck..

Hey guys.
Just wondering, Is it possible to Unlock the ATT, Sprint, ..... whatever version of the HTC One to work with any network worldwide? I didnt see any threads about this .
thanks
It's possible to unlock any phone. You'll have to go through your provider if you live in the states.

Thanks for the reply, thats the thing , I dont live in the states. im in New Zealand.
You might want to check that the phone has the correct radio bands enabled for your region, the US carriers use unusual tech, you'll be unlikely to be able to use 4G.

Hi,
Hoping someone can shed some light on this odd problem I have. I'm on EE in the UK which is at moment our only 4g provider. I smashed my old S3 LTE screen so my girlfriend (Who is on 02) upgraded early to an xperia z, which we were assured is 4g compatible. We had to unlock the phone to work on my network of course.
However, after unlocking I don't have the option to change to 4G in the network menu.
I've checked the following:
The phone is the C6603 model, which I double checked supported the bands and frequencies used by EE
I receive 4g in my area (Used to with old phone)
I checked with 02 that the phone was 4G compatible
However I'm guessing it's been turned off in the software that 03 loaded to customize the phone. I can't for the life of me find any info on the internet on how this is done or reversed, and I'm a little hesitant to flash the ROM as I would be murdered should I brick the thing.
Any ideas? Anything appreciated.
I flashed the Spanish 4.2.2 ftf file onto my UK 3 Z.
That gives me the option to use LTE networks. You might have to do something similar to get yours to pick up a LTE signal.
Did you say the phone was from O2?
Its also a piece of piss to flash ftf files. You don't even have to root or unlock the bootloader.

Yeah, phone was got from 02. I suspected that there's something loaded with the bloatware... Hm, so I guess I need to try flashing and risking the wrath of the girlfriend should it go up the swanny..

Now this is odd, I had the option when I went in there... But it flicks straight back to WCMDA Preferred. I also just rooted it.. so I'm confused now.
So better to do what warface suggest.
