[Q] Stock ROM with CM-Style Notifications Menu? - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I've been using CM 10.1 on my device so far, and it's great but the battery life is really disappointing when I'm on 3G, so I'm considering moving back to stock.
However, I really, really hate what Samsung has done with the notifications pulldown menu. Specifically, I strongly dislike their oversized toggles for wifi/data etc. Is there any way for me to have a CM-Style notifications pulldown menu with nothing on it except space for notifications? I don't mind not having the quick toggles at all like in CM.
Cheers.

[Q] Notification Power Widget

Hey all
I've been searching the forums but found nothing so far.
The galaxy is born with power controls in the notification window.
Has anyone modded this to include more options as we're seing in Cyanogenmod? e.g. 2g/3g, sync, brightness etc?
Yes I agree, I hope someone could add these features, it's very useful, not like the widgets Samsung put which are very useless (why auto-rotate or bluetooth, and not 3G ????)
Well, I use the rotation lock on my Hero.
But more options is always a plus

[Q] Brightness adjust slider action lost ICS

Hi there!
After updating to LPY slider action (hold top line for a second and then slide to left or right) to control the brightness do not work any more. Is that only me or this feature are not implemented to 4.0?
Thanks!
Yeah I noticed it was gone too, which is odd considering it is not something I think Samsung would have dumped.
I seemed to have lost the slider functionality too after official ICS update from Samsung. Any way to get this back...it was useful.
Slider not working! Good stuff gone!
anyway to get it back? should we expect a patch or something?
Yes, it's especially odd considering one of the leaked ics builds originally had it.
I am hoping to get it back as well. Love shortcuts like this, it was very useful.
It was great feature., why would they take it out? :banghead:

Toggles for JB

Hey all,
I know rom development is in the works, but I feel like I'm lost without toggles in the "pull down notification" area. I was put on to "Power Controls" from the Play Store and it works great. It's free, customizable, and works without root for those that aren't into that sort of thing!
You can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Hope this helps a few folks out!
Thanks,

just a heads up to your heads up.. i used this app with ICS and loved it, was exactly what I needed in the notification bar. However with JB this app hurts the experience. In JB the top notification is expanded for greater viewing and actions. This app is treated as a notification and will always be treated as your top notification and you lose the whole JB notification functionality.
Notification Toggle fits well. ICS icons match and notification priority and icon can be changed so it's almost seamless.

Ditto. Works awesome.
Btw- you can manually expand JB notifications with a pinch-to-zoom.

I use Elixar 2. It's pretty nice, adds toggles to your pull down notifications. I don't think it requires root (though some of the features in it do if you want to use them all).

Thanks! This will tide me over until we get some aokp or something.

I have been using a similar app called Widgesoid to implement that toggle for a while. I had been using it in 4.0.4 and it is still there since upgrading to 4.1.1 and I expand my emails all the time to see who said what. Maybe it is this app(people said the same thing about Widgetsoid), or because I already had it installed when upgrading, but I don't know what you mean by losing that functionality. Still works fine for me.

I use the "widgetsoid" app to create a permanent occurrence of customizable toggles in the Notification Tray. My primary setup includes: airplane mode, wifi, wifi tether, bluetooth, rotation lock, screen brightness, flashlight.

The Standard "Power Controls" toggles in already in the widgets tab.

But that can only be used while on the home screen. Having them in the notification section allows quick access anywhere there is a status bar visible.

Anyone no longer butthurt?

Got my N4 yesterday and my butt's magically improved. I'm coming from a Galaxy S and I stopped caring about the back orders and sh¡tshow that was the launch. Sorry to all those who are still waiting?
After rooting, I've pretty much got all the functionality that I used to have. I just wish tablet mode was enabled so I ould consolidate the notification and nav bars. Also, that I could hide the battery icon and use a battery bar at the bottom. While I'm also putting out my wish list, notification toggles are still infinitely better than Quick Settings and hardly occupy any space if only the icons are used. Also, I really miss the search button as it was so useful in the browser for quickly pulling up the address bar and keyboard (swipe up from the app switcher would be great). Would love to see a SlimBean release soon.
Best wishes to the developers working on their N4 ROMs and kernels!

[Q] [XV] Quick Settings and phone freezing problem on NeoWave rom

My XV is running NeoWave rom and I can't find a way to add some titles to Quick Setting (Toogle Sound mode, Toogle Wifi AP, etc...) like some other custom roms, so someone please tell me how can I do that
Regard phone freezing issue, my phone sometimes freeze when charging, charging LED still on when I unplug the phone, and I can't do anything except pulling out the battery. I never had this problem with stock rom, only with custom rom (Carbon and NeoWave). How can I fix this?
OmniRom doesn't support some Quick Settings that are included in other roms.
I suggest installing the app "Safe Charge" from Play Store to get rid of the freeze issues.
You can "swipe" a lot of tiles in the quicksettings, to show a secondary function.
The volume buttin changes to sound settings, the WiFi button to tethering, the network data button to data connection, the battery percentage to battery status etc.
All settings are there

I tried Safe Charge but it seems the issue still persist. Btw love your rom so much, only some minor problem with ART but overall it's great :good::good::good:
One more question, in other roms some Quick Settings titles have their own setting. For example I can remove Silent and Ringer only mode in Sound title, only Vibrate and Sound+Vibrate left. So does NeoWave rom has this option as well?
I haven't quite figured that out.
When you deblock the buttons so that you can move them, some of them can be changed size and transparency when clicked. I imagine that has something to do with it, but i did not experiment.
Already installed Safe Charge and SOD has even been more frequently. I missed my morning alarms because of that. I never experienced that on any stock-based rom. Is it kernel related?
It's strange, as only a few people have SoDs. I personally don't.
So sad. I had sudden shutdown problem with stock rom before, then I changed to Carbon then your rom and that problem has gone, but now SoD.
I think Quick Settings lacks customizations compared to other rom. As far as I know, this is rom-integrated, so GravityBox (and other Xposed modules, too) won't work. It means only you can make some modifications to this, right?
It requires quite a lot of modding to add quick settings.
I dont have a lot of time for developing in the next months. Sorry.
@WhiteNeo Don't feel sorry bro, you've already work really hard to bring us this wonderful rom :good::good::good: And beside that, it seems I'm the only one request this feature, and maybe other guys prefer Omni-style Quick Settings, so it would be great if you could provide a flashable zip for this modification, of course only if you have time Good luck with your studying
