Just bought the phone... Please help me - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

The phone is excellent so far, but the sound is really low and not one equalizer is working. Can someone provide me with a working Equalizer for the HTC Vivid? I've tried Music Equalizer, Volume + and Equalizer.

None will work.. Audio on the htc vivid is a pain in the ass. If you're looking for an EQ for music use power amp

This doesn't work either.... Is there really not one app that can boost the audio of the vivid? Why is the speaker so damn low? Is there a custom rom out there with louder speakers for the vivid?

The only... And I mean only thing that ever worked... Was the beats toggle on the bone stock ROM...
And the bears toggle was the worst sounding thing... I always left it off

I got 2 Vivids (well, 1 Vivid and 1 Raider) and on both the sound is good on rooted stock ICS and on the Darkraider ROM.
I got no problems at all on phone or speaker volume.

Voodoo sound vs beats audio

Thinking about flashing beats audio. I already have voodoo sound.Which the difference detween them? Which is better? They are both sound amplifiers?
I dont know whether beats audio works on 2x but voodoo does work. Plus DSPManager along with Voodoo makes music complete. One more PLUS LG'S default music player is very high audio quality music player with lib dependent HW equalizing unlike other players which uses cpu for DSP.
So in summary,
LG music player + voodoo + dspmanager thats way enough for an ear

Now i'm using audio beats with boose and i have to say that i feel the difference between before (using vodoo sounds^^). Finally i think that audio beats is better...it's my opinion of course.
My vote goes to beats audio.
of course voodo sound, beats audios take no effect=.=
Well, manage to find working dsp manager.. my settings:
1) v20q rom+stock kernel
2) beats audio
3) dsp manager: bass boost moderate+rock eq
Results: Listening to Metallica, and surprisingly superb..
Wish Jason Newstead's bass sound a bit clearer..

Listen Metallica"s "fixxxer" or "the memory remains" for real deep bass. Jason newsted was a great bassist

According to supercurio, The Creator of voodoo, he said beats makes no diferrence, he measured it. Also I would really believe something really optimised to our phones, to our hardware.
Anyway, if beats do something(which I dont believe), it would be just some software enhancement like equalizer or anything faulting the clearness of the sound.
Just my opinion based on my logic.

I think its not which one is the best.. its about which is convenient to users. For me, the Beats Audio advantage is we dont need another app to configure it, as Voodoo we do need the app to activate it.
Just flash Beats Audio, install DSP Manager and find your settings. (To me, its simpler)..

sry for the stupid question: does voodoo/beats also take effect on the regular speakers or only on headphones? Thx!

Beats w Control Talk

hi, just grabbed a pair of Dr. Dre Beats Tour w Control Talk. music sounds fine with them on the incredible s, the button works to shuffle songs only in PlayerPro, not the stock htc player. the +/- volume buttons will not function at all on this device and the mic doesnt work in calls. tested with an ipod touch and everything is ok. im on Android Revolution HD. i once had a pair of skullcandy fmj and the mic worked fine on the same device. does anybody have any beats working with inc s with any certain apps or roms??
Try Nik trinity sensation xl ROM with beats audio enhancement to experience a good beats effect
U can find the ROM here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312021
hmmm, i don't really want to change my rom. im quite comfortable with Android Revolution HD, but i almost can't wait for ICS. Maybe i'll wait for an ICS rom that makes use of the Beats.
The problem here is a bit complex...
There are some player that "catch" the middle button only as play/pause and others that act like an iPod ( 1 press play pause, 2 press next song, 3 press previous song).
About the mic and volume button issues, it's because that earphones are build for apple devices that use a different architecture of the 3.5 mm jack, for more info you can read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366362

Isn't controltalk for apple devices?
The Control Talk only works on Apple devices if you bought iBeats. And for the best sound I would take DSP-Manager. Works on any ROM and has by far the best sound to me.

[Q] Best Rom for music and sound mods?

So I'm getting a note 2 very soon and so I'll be using my IncS as a media phone in my car, speakers at parties etc. So what ROMs would you guys recommend with what sounds mods? The reason I ask "what ROM" is because some ROMs support different mods to other ROMs, cheers guys.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
AOSP if you want to be flashing mods like awesomebeats and ac!d with equalisers
Viper if you want to use the built in SRS, Dolby or beats. SRS and Dolby on viper is actually dope so I highly recommend those for sound enhancements
If the note 2 has a Wolfson DAC though, I'd be using that
Thanks for that. I'll probably use the note 2 aswell, but my IncS will most likely be the primary sound device.

@mark; you seem to know these kinda stuff, do those mods actually make any difference at all?
I know that DSP manager does with its equalizer, but haven't tried anything else.

One of them takes out sound in the phone calls but a media player doesn't make phone calls

I find that some actually do. I was amazed when I first used kingbeatz (nexus 7 mod) and iirc it works on the incredible s too. I can't remember taking a phone call though

Equalizer

HTC One do away with Equalizer?
Only left with beats?

I was thinking the same, I got the deezer app and I can't seem to adjust the sound...
this is bad. the beats dun really sound that great.. so we need to go third partY?
Try DSP Manager

I'm using power amp as that mixes beats and equaliser settings to amazing effect. I just tweak it when I'm using the phone speaker.
I love the app Noozxoide EIZO-rewire PRO and have used it ever since I discovered it.

[MOD] ViPER4Android Audio Effects

EDIT: I am not affiliated with this MOD at all, I'm simply spreading the word.
Alright, forget AwesomeBEATS, AC!D Soundmod and DSP Manager. I've been trying this out for a few weeks now, with incredible results. I have tested this on both Borked ROM and PACman, and works flawlessly on both so it should work on all ROMs available for our Vivid. The only bug I have noticed is the separate bluetooth settings don't seem to make a difference, it just uses the Headset settings. Here are the settings I've found with the best sound for me so far, it will make your ears happy.
V4A-FX Powered On- CHECKED
PlaybackAGC- Unchecked
FIR Equalizer- CHECKED- I use Vocal Booster
Convolver- CHECKED- srs_2_1_normal+headset.irs
Field Surround- CHECKED- Both set to Moderate
Reverberation- Unchecked
Dynamic System- CHECKED- I have Denon headphones so I select High-End, sometimes Extreme. I can tell a difference between the two.
Tube Simulator- CHECKED
Just read through the thread and you'll find the .irs files and what to do with them. Installation is super easy and makes a huge difference.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
For our Vivid, choose A8Cortex with Neon when it does the initial driver setup.
If you have TitaniumBackup or can otherwise completely remove DSP Manager, I highly recommend this as to avoid conflicting settings.
thank you it works! my cm10 flashed vivid is so much louder and clear thanks again
I also want to point out my edit, if you can remove DSP manager from the system I recommend doing so, as its settings will conflict and deteriorate Viper's.
I'm glad you said something cus I deleted dsp manager and I'm using viper and I was gunna reflash the dsp manager since I think there's to much bass and music is a bid distorted.

I had already deleted DSP Manager with TiBU, loving Viper. My Vivid sounds like a high-end stereo now.
Thanks!

It really does turn your phone into a high-end preamp/mixer, the audio profiles you can create with a little tweaking are amazing. This is one of the best setups I've found so far, for my headphones and the cassette adapter in my car-
Headset-
Master Power- On
Playback Gain- Off
FIR Equalizer- On- Vocal Booster
Convolver- On- IRS I use is samsung_i9300_soundalive_11_virtualchannel7.1.irs
Field Surround- Off
Headphone Surround- Off in the car, On for headphones (sometimes)
Reverberation- Off
Dynamic System- On- Extreme Headphones(v2), 16% Dynamic Bass, Tube Simulator enabled
Fidelity Control- ViPER Bass- On- Natural Bass, 40hz, 3.5db, ViPER Clarity- On- OZone+, 3.5db
Auditory System Protection- Cure Tech- On, Moderate
Master Gate (Limiter)- 0db, 0db
Glad it's working out for you guys!

I started to install it but got stuck. When I go to put the apk in the system/app folder it says "has not been copied" but it does list it as there twice both having 0kb size
Does it have a huge difference compared to DSP Manager? and what are the difference?
considering trying this mod...
but i need to know how to uninstall this mod ...just incase i don't like it ....
(I'm currently rooted running a stock dedoxed rom... using beats audio and poweramp so headphone wise i have no issue with the sound, but sound through the phones speakers is just too low.)
I'm on 4.2.2 Unofficial Dirty Unicorn (7-18-13),
after flash the rom,on phone speaker, default bass was too heavy to make it sounds horrible, and the dsp manager didn't work.
but this MOD works great!
Really thanks for the info, it fixed my phone speaker problem
