This is the link for people who are stock and unlocking their phone. If you're using the toolkit put it in the data folder and rename to twrp. Be careful though the other files are the same name but in capital letters! Flash it and u will have responsive twrp and rooted 4.3 ota

Yea I do not know how to get into recovery. I locked my bootloader while rooted with s-off then did the ruu to 1.29 stock, did the update, up til 4.3 and everything went fine. I Unlocked bootloader again with the unlock code from HTC and my phone shows unlocked. However I cannot get recovery to work, I fastboot flashed the newest version of twrp several times and it would say successful. When in bootloader I click on recovery it brings me to the htc screen with opening recovery on top, and the bottom saying that this is for experimental purposes. The screen hangs there for about a minute then it goes to black and the phone resets itself. If someone else had this happened to them and got it working respond, it is annoying that I am unlocked with s-off but I cant flash a custom recovery.

This is just a flashable stock unrooted ROM for anyone wanting a copy to flash via CWM as opposed to fastboot. It was literally the JDQ39 system image dumped into the dsixda kitchen and thrown straight back out with NO changes whatsoever - it's not even deodexed! Useful if you need to use an app which can still detect root even after using a root-hider app (e.g. to watch Sky Go in the UK)
It is the 100% untouched, unmolested system image

Far as I know, OTA is dependent on the recovery. So you would still need stock recovery to pull the OTA.
Someone feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. I came from an HTC monstrosity, and we all know how easy those are to modify.

Hmm. Though we would get "Failed" upon an ota via s3 I remember regardless of recovery it would indeed update as well as patch recovery. But I'm not saying this is the case on nexus devices as this indeed is my first.

Hey swirly ..as you approach a possible flash coming from this flash able stock zip would you mind posting any positive results if any with your performance and battery? I have heard and at times on other devices found at times this does improve somewhat by the partitions being reset or to those lines etc. Thank you.

You didn't keep a stock from first flash?. I always do. Good ole flashback unroot then delete twrp (depending if really needed as s3 wasn't) then protect root with root keeper then unroot take ota then load saved root. If this doesn't work on nexus 4 I'd love to know but worked on RAZR rezound and s3..if not I'll report in a created thread via next update. My reason is I like having that true first stock backup. Good for fresh installs of custom when reverting first. IMO lol

Just a quick question. If you flash this and then flash stock recovery, can you basically unroot by doing that? It'll be much easier (at least in my opinion) of you could just flash the rom to unroot and go back to pure stock
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Well the truth is that if you have cwm 6+ the OTA installs with no problem and if you are root, it keeps it too! Just for your information the OTA needs system ,bootloader, radio, boot.img unmodified.
TBH I made this to help people too lazy to flash the stock factory image from Google. I'd always recommend the factory image personally
Gapps requirement
Is gapps required after flashing the ROM?
I recently rooted my device and flashed the supersu zip provided in bigdaddy root thread .only problem is I can't update the app cuz when it updates the binary manually it fails or reboots my device .if I hit the flash option it goes to recovery but doesn't flash anything ..is there a way to make this update properly ?

Hey guys,
I got my HTC One yesterday with the original firmware which i had to root and unlock with TWRP, i notice there's a new version of the firmware and i know i might end up asking a repetitive question but i was unable to find anything about it (or what i've found was so much that it confused me). I was wondering if someone could shed some digital light on me and point me where i can learn how to upgrade the firmware, can i simply update on the phone or do i have to do anything special because of the TWRP thing? Also is there anything better then the original 4.3 where can i read about it?
thank you!
Anyone???

I already have S-off, TWRP. I cant use the OTA 4.3 version, right? Can i go from 4.1.2 to ViperROM 4.3, for example? Or do i have to S-ON, install stock 4.3, flash recovery again with TWRP and S-OFF and then install a custom ROM?
Just download a sprint 4.3 Rom, then update firmware seperately...now I don't think viper one 4.3 is for sprint

Hey, im lost again. I just got to that thread and there's lots of links for S-OFF, with insecure boot, etc... Which i dont know nothing of. The guide is for flashing a firmware with 20Mb size? What's that and whats that for? After i flash that what do i have to do? It just says how to flash that firmware and the second post is the stock ROM. Should i flash the firmware and then let the phone update the OTA?
Just flash the Rom first, then you can fastboot flash the firmware without hboot..the firmware is the update/ota

Reboot to bootloader then go to recovery. If this doesn't work (seems odd but some people have gotten it working after rebooting to bootloader first), just boot to bootloader and then:

Go for it. Seriously, flashing the images takes about three minutes or so and it's safer. Just remember to boot to recovery afterwards to do a factory reset and wipe cache to prevent a bootloop (this will wipe your storage so make a backup first).
For both zip files that have come up tonight I can't flash them, ended up just flashing back to my CM 10.2 nightly. Just gives the same error.

Hello guys, my wifi is broken, I missed something? I came from AOSPA Alpha.
Just in case anyone needs it - here's a flashable zip with stock Nexus 4 KitKat recovery, straight from the factory image.
Instructions: just install the zip using your custom recovery.
You do this on your own responsibility, I am in no way responsible for anything that happens to your device.

That should be the stock recovery! Have you tried, while you see the Android with the red exclamation mark, pressing power and volume up buttons? This should bring you to the actual recovery menu (from where you can do factory reset, flash zip etc..).

No, not only Volume Up! Press the Volume Up + Power button for 3 seconds
Alternatively, you can try to download the KRT16O stock image here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-krt16o-factory-75ccae7a.tgz then extract the archive and finally flash the contained recovery via fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Well, I'd try to get the correct stock recovery for your current build from the factory image (if that is KRT16O, see link above) flash it via fastboot and try again (also try to press the Vol Up button a bit before you start pressing the power button to make sure it doesn't take the power button press only). But don't know how to help any further.
Can anyone provide me a KTU84P recovery.img?
