Computer will not recognize phone in fastboot. - Sprint HTC One (M7)

As the title says... When the phone is on normally adb works but in fastboot it isn't detected. I have tried everythinggggggg.

If you're using a PC with Windows 8.1 it won't recognize it. You'll need to find an older OS to get it to work with ADB.

Are you inrecovery or Bootloader for Fastboot?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4

Bootloader... And the phone even says fastboot usb

Having the same issue as op and I'm on windows 8. It worked before because I'm S-OFF and unlocked and so forth which needed some fastboot commands if I remember correctly.

Hey I was having the issue too of the PC not seeing the phone in fastboot or recovery and what I had to do is switch USB ports! Dumb yeah but once I plugged into another port the commands work and it shows up! Hopefully that's what you are dealing with too!
Sent from my Nocturnal Google Edition CDMA 5.0 using Tapatalk 4

It will work on 8 but as soon as I updated to the 8.1 preview I couldn't get it to recognize the phone using fastboot.
If you're on 8 I just installed the HTC drivers and it worked. Not sure if it's that simple or I just got lucky.

I have all drivers installed already and have tried reinstalling them.

I have quite the opposite problem. :/ no adb in OS, but works in recovery.

Bump

I had that problem with Windows 8.1. But then I got the OTA update before I rooted and that updated my bootloader. After that I had no problems with fastboot. But if you want s-off, I don't recommend you update the bootloader. You won't be able to get s-off.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4

I have 2 PCs running Windows 8. One has 2.0 usb and 3.0 usb. The other only has 3.0 usb. I found that as long as I use the 3.0 usb ports fastboot is not recognized. Are you guys using 3.0 usb ports? 2.0 usb always works for me.

I have 5 USB 2.0 and 4 USB 3.0 I tried 3 of the 2.0's and I already knew 3.0 wouldn't work.

I had no issues on 8 used different USB ports. Since installing the 8.1 preview nothing works. I'm starting to think that the OTA with the new hboot is what is fixing it.

Should I just ruu and start over?

Sad that the new Hboot will most likely make S-Off such a pain to deal with from now on though.

Make sure USB Debugging is on and plug in your phone
1. right click my computer and choose properties
2. choose Device Manager
3. find your phone and right click and choose properties
4. click the driver tab and choose update driver
5. choose Browse my computer
6. choose let me pick
7. it should give you list of HTC drivers choose the one that says HTC MTP( or similar) and click next it will install the driver and you should be golden
I have helped several folks rescue their phones and get s-off remotely and this always fixed the driver problem.
And as noted in the thread it does not work if you are running Win8.1

Did you put the vs910.dll in the proper folder? We need more info on what you steps you have done what OS your running? If you was able to register the DLL? The more into we have the better we can help guide you in the right direction.

If you're having trouble getting the vs910.dll to install and keep getting the "Windows7 RegSvr32 Error 0x80020009" message then try this:
Start (Win Key) > type uac > ENTER
Pull slider down to Never notify > OK
Restart computer
try installing vs910.dll again
just make sure you go back and put the slider where it was after you are done upgrading the software on your phone. This worked for me and I'm running windows 7 64bit.

Glad that worked. Are you talking about selecting the file to flash? I don't recall ever having to type anything manually other than *.* in the selection box for choosing the file to flash. Make sure you are in the boot loader when running ruu and you have all the proper HTC drivers. If that's not it you can try searching Google for the error.
Dude. Just boot into recovery then on phone press mount usb. On your computer in your drives you should see your phones memory. Download a rom from the sprint htc one. Use this. http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22962010882834713 Once downloaded drag zip to storage. Once done press unmount usb. Then on recovery press install from storage. Click on your rom zip. Let it install. Reboot your htc one. Your good. You should have no more issues.

Fyi, because I see it misused a lot, "Bricking" man's it won't even power on, be recognized by any device, etc. If it just won't go into its ROM then that isn't a brick.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Mine fits the description of bricked better... All stock, no root, just using it as a GPS, left it plugged into the car charger when I went into the store but turned the screen off (that thing gets HOT). When I came back, no led, no power, nothing. Have tried connecting to the wall charger that came with it, to USB 2 and 3 on computers, left it charging all night. Not so much as a flicker... The computers didn't recognize anything connecting to them either.
Long hold of power (with and without either/both volume buttons) has done nothing.
What is left to try? I would rather not lose all the pictures from my vacation, but need my phone back for work.

[Q] Phone stuck in boot loop

Hey all! I have (had) a rooted HTC one.
In an attempt to install an Android 4.3 ROM, I've got my phone in 1 of 2 stages.
I have TWRP
When I tried to download the 4.3 ROM and reboot, it takes me back to the bootloader screen. If i try reboot, it continuity takes me back to this screen.
If i go to recovery, and attempt to wipe & backup, it says successful, however, upon a reboot, it goes through the motions, but android nor apps never loads and in about 20 seconds, the phone restarts and continues this process over and over again..
Can anyone help me just get my phone back please?
I feel like somethings just missing or do i need to factory reset?

I did lose everything on my phone. I didn't had much on it though since I've only had the phone for two weeks.
The course of action is this:
First connect phone to your computer and get ADB going (hopefully you had USB debugging on)
Then follow this guide to get S-OFF and relock bootloader, make sure you booted into recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44243635
Then download RUU from this link

First off I'm assuming you have the android SDK installed on your PC since you have rooted phones before.
You probably need a driver for your PC to recognize the phone. The one I used is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822
But you can also download and install the HTC Sync
Once your PC recognizes your phone and you are booted into recovery you can push ADB and fastboot commands to your phone.

No so far, if you unlocked phone only need to lock again with ASB, then connect to PC and run ruu.
Sent from my Sensation XL using XDA Premium HD app
I tried to do the installation of the version but the computer shows me an error .. Maybe we have to return the locking device?
And If so should lock how to do it please??
Someone please help me, I looked all over the internet, I can not find a way to lock the boot again :crying:
In the bootloader, connect the phone to the computer and chose "fastboot". On the computer (assuming you have fastboot in the forder you are in), launch a terminal and type "festboot oem lock". Then it's done.

I'm really sorry for all the posts..
I don't see terminal in the boot
If you cne tel me better how I do it I be happy
Please??
How did you unlocked the phone in the first place? The terminal means a Dos terminal in windows with adb & other supporting files in the folder. Type in "fastboot oem lock". Then run the RUU Israel you downloaded

You mean to cmd?
What is the adb?
Yes cmd in windows. Have you unlocked your bootloader? Search your computer for adb.exe, if it exist, all files you need for terminal commands are in the folder. Run cmd from that folder

HTC One Issue

I accidentally wiped all the data on my HTC in TWRP as I was trying to upgrade to a different ROM, but it failed.
I can get into BOOTLOADER, but it comes up saying *** TAMPERED *** and *** UNLOCKED ***.
I can also get into Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.3.3.
When the phone boots it stays on the HTC screen and doesn't get any further because there's no ROM installed.
I've heard of ADB to try and push the ROM onto the phone, but can't find a tutorial on how to do it.
Any help which be much appreciated.
while in recovery:
Put your ROM file in the same folder as ADB
adb push your_rom_filename.zip /sdcard/
Back out so you can click on the install file on sdcard option and viola...

My computer doesn't even recognize the HTC! I've tried several different leads, including 2 genuine ones I bought off of eBay and it still doesn't detect it, doesn't even make a sound when I connect it! I've tried all the USB ports on my computer and have even tried using ADB/Fastboot on Ubuntu, but it still doesn't work!
