Look for what author asked... He asked for Z1 magnetic charger but here is Z section so I won't answer the question. Please report to the moderator.

I think he was asking for a Z1 like magnetic charger for our Z

He actually asked if the Z1 magnetic charger could be adapted to use with the Z.

They fit the z so in theory yes they can be adapted.. Get the dock take the magnetic pins out that the lead is attached to and boom the same as you can get online

Did sone research turns out Z docking pins are copper which means non magnetic

did anyone try yet?

is it possible to use magnetic chrger of xperia z1 on xperia z?

No, and No.
Xperia Z doesnt have magnetic pins. They are copper for docking station. There is no way to use ANY magnetic charger with it, until you modify your xperia Z by drilling holes and putting there small magnets/metal.
I had in my mind such project, and I actually bought side bar for XZ and I got from work small metal pins, but after some time I realize that its just too much work to fit them there and create magnet dock for it.
Then I bought Wireless charging case and modify it to fit my xperia, but after some time its turn out that wireless charging is annoying as hell and case still sit in closed somewhere in home.
If someone is interested with wireless charging just look on aliexpress or ebay for universal wireless charging pad, its small sticker with microUSB that can be modified to fit XZ side pins

Whats the type of HDMI cable needed for Xperia Z?

As I've posted in the Sony Xperia z cases and covers thread...
Ok so tried the Samsung mhl cable (for the s2)
And Works with the Xperia z.
Tv launcher loads Works fine, so does the home screen. BUT it somewhat lags scrolling through them.
Where as the Xperia s with micro hdmi Works great and smoothly.
I've tried full hd/ 1080p videos; they all run smoothly on the Xperia z via mhl
Also you must plug it into a usb port (for charging) or plug the usb into your tv for the mhl to work
Refer to pic below.
I think there is an issue with the mhl cable (compatibility maybe) or it could be an issue with tv launcher/Home screen app
Who knows maybe Sonys mhl will work better.

I have to buy it separately too. Nothing more than a plastic with USB connector. No USB cable nor power adapter included. But for a phone like ZR it's necessary.
Absolutely essential if you want to keep this phone waterproof.

Out of stock since quite few days.
And i stay in India so they may not ship here !
Thanks anyway
I have the dock that's meant for the Xperia A in Japan, so there are some Japanese text on it but it still carries the same DK-28 product name.
For those who're interested to know, its input/output is rated 1800 mAh, so it can still guarantee fast charging for all except the 2A chargers (which takes a small hit). The bundled 1.5Ah charger should charge as quick as the direct USB connection.
Guide.

Actually it is easy to make one for yourself. There is a thread in Xperia z forum for D.I.Y. Charging dock. You should check that out.

Just so people know, the distance from the edge of the phone frame to the surface of the metal charging strips is much larger in zr than in z. Therefore if you build your own dock, I think the pins should be longer than in the case of Z.

Come with my Docomo Xperia A.
good thing is you don't need to plug micro usb to charge, bad news is unless you spend more $ to buy a very thin shell don't dream you can use the dock with any common shell .
Dialer/phone applications behaviour in DK28 dock
Hi
I'm owner of Sony Xperia Acro S and consider buying Xperia ZR. I'm heavy user and fan of docks - own and use 3 of them for SXAS. I tend to spend lots of time at the desk during phone conversations, phone sits in the dock all the time, BT headset in use. Dock for SXAS is vertical one, while DK28 is landscape one.
A question to Xperia ZR and DK28 owners - what is the dialer (dial pad/contacts) and phone (during actual connection) behaviour when in dock? Does both works in landscape or stupidely remain portrait?

What i did is, removed EC21 cable from Sony dock Dk31; the only genuine solution it is if you want original cable
Check here how i removed it - http://www.xperiaguide.com/2013/10/...ging-dock-dk31-dk30-xperia-z1-xperia-z-ultra/

That line was quoted from the official dk31 guide from sony.
I guess usb port of pc will not give same charge as ac adapter. Ac adapter gives 1.5A so fast charge than usb port of pc.
So for fast charge use AC adapter only.
Took 2.30 hours via ec21 cable to charge my z1

[Q] MHL & Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet

Hi,
I understand that the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is one of the first to have MHL 3.0 (Along with the Z2 Phone) however is there any adapter out at the moment to put this onto to your TV yet?
Is this something that a universal adapter will sort? Is it something I need to wait for Sony to release?
Cheers.
James

Compatible parts
Hi, can someone help me? I buyed a digitaliser on ebay and I have replaced this fine, but the touch is very bad, very unresponsive, glove mode doesn,t work now and multitouch ******
The seller gave me the money back
Now I want to buy an ORIGINAL PART FROM SONY, not compatible parts. Where I can go to buy this?
Please help me! Now I have installed the broken glass because it works fine. I prefer the broken glass to a clean glass but unresponsive.
The Sony digitaliser contains both active and passive capacitors that's why it can have glove mode and mutitouch perhaps the digitaliser you bought only contained passive capacitors. That's the normal ones. Try a more expensive one. Also those problems could be caused by a bad connection try cleaning the connections with contact cleaner. If you want to be sure its a Sony part you may have to go to a Sony centre.

If its marked as an OEM part then it should be made by the same manufacturer as the original part so that would be your best bet. Unfortunately online it hard to be sure.

On my broken screen it says the same but "40" / "48" (i,m not sure because it,s installed yet) instead of "8" Can be a part of the region code?
The digitiser of the models C5302 / C5303 / C5306 / M35h are the same?
Thanks bro, this thread will help more people in the future
EDIT: On my original broken screen it says "44" xD
The xperia SP range are all identical hardware the difference is the radio baseband ie the frequencies they are capable of receiving. The C5302= 3g version C5303= global LTE/4G version and the C5306= american LTE version I would just buy an OEM digitaliser and fit that

I have found more information:
On the photo you can see how the fake glass have 3 dots on top when the original SP cristal have 2
On the picture is not appreciated but you can see how obviously the white is not the same in both, The original have a brilliant white and the fake have darker white.
When you give touches at the original cristal it feels sturdy but on the fake cristal sounds cheap
