Battry drain ,wake locks - Sony Xperia ZR

I experianced battery drains and wake lock not letting my zr to go deep sleep.disabling /freezing location based wifi app (a sony one) fixed it.in battery infor itwas showing as google network location something eating up my battery.I assume this app was calling googles netowrk location service so it showed in battery usage.Any one having same problem hope this helps

Try a factory reset. Seems odd and there maybe a rougue app that's causing trouble.
Sent from my C5502 using Tapatalk 2

I have been experiencing increased battery drain since the .67 update two days ago. Most of it seems to be caused by a process called "Google Services" which cannot be disabled. A factory reset seems a bit drastic and I doubt it will work anyway.

I turned off wifi but that app uses your mobile network location to auto turn on and off wifi.so this polling is the battery drain.

Right, thanks.

i'm experiancing the same in my battery usage log, google services taking up most of the battery (nothing severe though i get through the day with 40% battery left)
you mentioned location based wifi, in .244 and older verisons there was an option to enable and disable the location based wifi under the power managment tab in settings, now it's gone from there and i can't find it anywhere.
same for you guys? perhaps sony decided to enable it always on .67 fw and thats why we are experiencing this.

Yp that's why I disabled it.

I am getting great speeds on wifi, regularly above 20 which is what I get on my computers too. It might have something to do with that almost dead battery you had while doing the tests. Try it again when you are charged up and see if that makes a difference.
Here're my WiFi results after 4.2.1
I think it may be your battery being drained but I could be wrong. I was at 53% or so when I ran the test.

@OP I actually don't see anything that would be showing how slow your WiFi is from the given picture I mean if you look tests were carried our on both WiFi and data network. So how are you comparing these figures and what's your usual WiFi speed so people would know what you are talking about.
Also maybe there's some other activity on router or someone is downloading something. Reset router and do the same test again so you can get better results

Anybody know WTF that setting actually does? HTC once had a setting like that and it just made your phone stay awake all the time. Bad idea.

I can't get past this speed and I got 50mbps, speedtest finishes the download too fast.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
How can software lower Wi-Fi speeds if that is based on your router. My Wi-Fi is running just fine...
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
3 speed test results are hardly conclusive. Your WiFi speed could vary depending on the load on your broadband at different times or because of a bunch of other reasons.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
So your speed is slower... on the weekend... on a day most people have off... case closed.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
You can stand on 2 different spots in your house and get different speeds.

Also, this is not actually testing wifi.. It is testing download speed.. It could be anything at all between your phone and that server..

I had issues with extremely slow WiFi as well. The solution in my case was to switch from my 802.11n network to a/b/g.

Best app killer that makes apps STAY KILLED?

The battery on this phone is the WORST ive ever used!!
Ridiculous!!
I know what apps and settings to use to reduce battery life, i'm not a noob,(screen brightness, bluetooth off, data off, short screen time out, locations off,gps off, disabled push notifications from all apps etc etc) but still!!
For example i used dolphin browser:exited>turned wifi off and put phone in airplane mode.. and after 6 hours DOLPHIN COSUMED 70% of my battery and went from 90% to 20% whilst idle doing nothing over 6 hours!!! Uninstalled that and put chrome back on..
So i NEED a good app killer that makes apps stay killed, tried BOOSTER, kills apps but when you refresh they all come back on mostly!!!!
no im not rooted, heard that makes battery worse .. Also im on 4.0.3 version V10F
Not sure my battery seems fairly well.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
no problems here. why is a battery worse when something is runnig in the background ?
i use Advanced Task Manager, its configured to kill delayed some apps when the screen goes off.
for blocking autostarts i use the buildin function of LBE Security Manager + Gemini App Manager
Use the autostarts app from playstore

it needs root and the user has not a rooted phone.
I suggest to use the 'maxinum bacground running processes' option.
However It's better to check the downloades apps that may drain battery and delete them.
After doing this,I suggest to use fast reboot pro and activate the option 'kill process when screen off'.
The apps would start all the time... when he likes to close the apps permanently, then he needs root access.otherwise the apps will start again.
Or use better battery stats to analyse the drainer apps and replace with alternate apps. At sample Facebook is an very big battery drainer....

I have to leave the phone with the screen on 50% brightness with facebook with full auto-update over 3g to use about that much battery in 6 hrs
(But then, i did freeze all possible apps from titanium backup and put my cpu on my powersaving plan)
SPOILER ALERT! Lets go really of topic now...
Guess what. I have no wifi internet as my cable modem is broken(new is ordered) i have been browsing and posting here over the 3g connection for 2 hrs now. I am tired. The clock is 23:45 and i have to get up from bed at 6:45 tomorrow to be able to reach school. FML!!!!

If you didn't root you'r phone you can do this Solutions:
1.Go to "settings > apps > all" and disable any programs you can like weather , youtube , google search , etc...
2.go to "settings > developer options > background process limit" and set that to "no background processes" and check show all ANRs
3.install advanced task manager or task killer and set that to auto kill when screen off
Sent from my LG-P880 using Tapatalk 2
Rooting and installing titanium backup pro sounds like the best option. If you have used any of the apps you dont like, you can just freeze them. If you dont care. Uninstall them!
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
or you can use rom toolbox lite (if it works on lg o4x,I read that it didn't work some weeks ago) wich is free and has lots of tools inside.
another good solution is changing the OOM values and set higher values : doing this you don't have much backgroung running apps so you get more speed on your phone and you'll save some battery juice but you can't do lots of multitasking operation with this solution...

Turn off google location service. There is an option under settings>location.I think it has an G icon (same as google search app's)
If it doesn't do the trick for you, just enable GPS and turn off mobile location (GPS doesn't use google services).
Some users have reported using GPS gives better battery life compared to mobile network location.Since the phone only turns GPS on when an app requests it.But google location service just keeps requesting your location no matter what.
Also enable mock locations in dev options. It seems to have reduced amount of wakelocks caused by RILJ etc. for me.Not sure if it would help with your problem but either way + for battery life
At first don't spam a dev thread with a link to your question!
Provide a screenshot of your wakelocks not only your alarms and provide more information about your setup!
EDIT: Did you even bother to search Google or XDA for this wakelock? Because there are so many threads about it.

Nice one
I have used this app successfully to renew battery life after swapping a extended life battery with a stock battery a couple times on my HTC Evo 4G. I couldn't get four hours out of either battery. Finally stuck with the extended life battery and used Battery Calibration. It made my battery seem like new again. It erases your battery stats then the system can rebuild new stats as you use the phone. It wont repair a bad battery...

Majority of my photos are blurry.. any tips?

A large majority of the time I take a photo, it is blurry. I have default settings on. I make sure I am still also... I've used CameraZoom+ and it was a lot better than the stock camera.
Are there any kind of settings or tips I can do to decrease the probability of a blurry photo ?

Yeah, I have settings on auto.. still blurry a lot of the times. The only thing that has seemed to work is to have "Tap to take pics." set to on. I tap the screen and keep as still as possible and that usually results in a better pic, rather than hitting the camera button. Even so.. this still isnt 100% a fix.
I may have to resort in going back to camerazoom+

Maybe it was something you removed thinking it was bloat that caused this. I know with the s4 if you delete Samsung hub auto rotate breaks (so stupid, what one has to do with the other idk). Did you have this problem before debloat?
