Guys. I had a very big problem here. My phone is just off the charger for about 10 min but the battery drops to 97% already. And I checked with the stamina mode which the battery only last for 18 hour and standby time only less then 2 days. Any idea about this? and any way to fix?
Thx.

How long have you owned the unit? I found mine needed a few charge cycles to become more stable.
One strange thing I have noticed is that whilst charging the notification light turns green at 90% for some reason, has anyone else noticed this?
Hi homer285. thanks for your reply. I had it for about a week only. So is it better I make some cycle charge for it to make it back to normal?
Thx.

that is normal for all Sony devices.
90% to 100% is green. below 90 is orange. and below 10 or something is red.

for the first part, the battery dropping so quickly, can you provide another screenshot for the battery and the apps working, to see which app consumed more battery. I usually charge my phone before going to sleep and after waking up ~9 hours later the battery drops from 100-96%.

For the second part, this is normal. the estimated battery gives indication depending on your usage (so yours will be different than mine). while standby is where your phone is not being used and thats why it is longer although it is quite little, my phone at 62% and says 3 days and 2 hours in standby mode.
if I didn't answer your question, please explain further but other screenshots would help as well, thx

I noticed this when charging mye phone the last time too. Maybe it is not quite calibrated yet? I did charge to 100% then totally drained it though, after charging it the first time out of the box.
Hi ahomad
Thx for ur reply. Attached is the photo of my battery usage for this morning.
I do understand what they mean but for the first few day usage my stamina standby time is up to 3-4days, just don't know what happen it dropped for used about a week.
And is it just the normal status or is it better to make some calibration for battery. If so, what is the best way to do that.
Thx.

you might have been playing games heavily (assuming the second app using most power is a game) thus the estimation was lowered as the phone assumed you will play more games in the coming days.
But from the picture you attached, you do have quite good battery as you were playing heavy game for 40 mins while having LTE on yet the battery dropped 9% which is really good
just ignore what the phone is telling as long as you don't see real world weakness of the battery performance. these estimates are never real just to give an indication

I just bought an Xperia Z phone and tablet yesterday and was pretty exited about it! It works really well, I love the design work and, yeah its just great. Only thing is, the battery is killing me, here's why:
I woke up this morning and unplugged my phone from the charger, it was at 100% of course. I sat down in my couch, checked Facebook and some News websites. Literally 8-10 minutes later, my battery percentage is 91%... 91%!!!!
My brightness is at ~40% no running apps in the background, no live wallpaper, WiFi on, latest Android update.
Is this normal? I was used to my Galaxy S2 lasting a lot longer, and I know I can't compare the two batteries and phones, but if this problem persists, this would mean I wouldn't be able to use my phone for apps and whatnot for more than 1h20m without having to charge it.
I got it yesterday, turned it on and configured the phone without it being in the charger, it was on ~50% when I turned it on and when it reached like ~20% I plugged it in the charger, I don't know if this could have damaged the battery, should I've plugged it in the charger right away? I am saying this because I remember on old cellphones (not smartphones) to get the best from the battery you had to charge it non-stop for like 20h or so.
Sigh, this is a bit frustrating. My Xperia Tablet Z has a great battery btw., absolutely no problem there.
The Xperia Z phone has screen time of 4hrs or so. It's primarily because of the 5 inch 1080p screen which consumes a lot more battery. I have owned my Z for two months and I get a day out of it with 30% battery by the time I hit the sack. For me it lasts 15 hrs or more.
Swraj
how can people stand 40% brightness? its like killing my eyes.
i do 0% brightness with auto on. saves me alot of battery.

Do comment only after giving the battery multiple charge cycles. If the same problem persist after 2 weeks, yes you probably need to check what is sucking up the battery.
Do take a look at the graph under "Settings" -> "Power Management" -> "Battery" to take a look at what is the highest consumer.

Ok I will give it some time, but it doesn't look good.
I've lowered my brightness to 0% and the power mgmt tells me that the screen is using up 40% battery, I don't get it..

It means out of all the battery power used, 40% of the time the screen was active and consuming power... I think
Try these
I used to complain like u did at the beginning, but i tried doing these things and it really improved my battery performance....
1- 1st of all it will get better after a week of charging discharging cycles
2- I uninstalled moxier pro
3- Deactivated google now
4- Disable bravia engine 2
5- Disable google chrome and use another browser (boat browser is really awesome and it supports flash)
6- Disable access to my location from location services and activate it only when u need it
if u do these things u will have marvelous battery improvements!!

It actually means of all the drain, the screen accounted for 40% of it.
I let it charge to 100% around 1am, unplugged and work up at 730am. Battery was on 85%. No use at all.
During regular use it seems to drain quickly. I've disabled probably 20 apps.

I'm pretty happy with my battery life so far
Does Verizon have an immediate ota update like tmobile? I didn't he update right away and seems solid enough. Not as good as my g3, but way smaller of a battery in the edge.
Disable the Amazon App Suite from Applications manager. This has been the culprit for every carrier on the S6. If you use Amazon app store, download it through amazon directly (it is a different app than the one included with the phone).
Your problem will be solved right away!!
Also, the Edge display (not the contact color part, but the clock and news feed) is a battery drain.
another problem with alot of s6 owners, aside from the stock amazon app, is there has been alot of battery drain if using wifi. I had wifi on most of the time and noticed a drain from cell standby... once you turn off the wifi that never comes up and drain is perfectly fine... no cell standby battery drain...
My battery was terrible the first day, ok the second day, and far better today. Seems like it has a time it needs to settle down.
I haven't gotten >3.5 hours screen on time yet. Which kind of stinks.
Disabled a few more apps today, will see if they helps any.
Sure have been getting use out of the quick charging though.

Sorry, I didn't look at that before I plugged it in.
Almost 6 hrs of screenon time use, Netflix for 30 mins...Facebook and texting. Screen set at around 30% brightness. Happy with my S6.
Not disappointed in how short the overall battery is...it does what I want and need it to do.
Yesterday my phone was dead from 6am to 6pm today at 5pm still have 47% left and I definitely used it more today. Better with age?
Hello I just gave my first full charge to my phone and the cell stand by is at the top, is there a way to avoid this or we going to accept to live with it, thanks for your help.
my battery wasn't too bad either
Hello everybody
Yesterday I noticed that my battery starts droping vary fast today I took a test to see how long can it take in full brightness and low brightness. All programs were shut down.
Here are the pictures. Is this normal?
Every test was taken by 10% of battery
My phone specs are: never rooted, bootlouder locket, and my beast have official lolipop from Sony

Definitely not normal, as far as I can tell. I get at least 3.5 hours of screen on. Granted, it's not continuously on, but it lasts me from 9 in the morning to 1 at night. with at least 2.5 to 3.5 hours of screen on. How old is your phone?

So it's not battery decay. Try fulling charging it, letting it discharge until it completely shuts off, and then charge it without interruption until it is 100% again. Do this 2 times, and it should re calibrate the battery.
Hi all, bit of background, I had my Z3c for just over 2 years and 6 months, heard the news about the XZ1c and soon as it was out I jumped at the chance of buying it.
Sadly, I haven't bonded too well with it.
Compared to my Z3c the battery life hasn't been all that good even using stamina. That's with minimal screen on time too. My Z3c used to do almost 2 days, this I can get a day and that's barely! Greenify is in use to kill apps etc.
After a full charge with battery care enabled I'm losing a load of charge and God knows where...!
SwiftKey absolutely sucks on this phone unless I have stamina turned off.
Vibration is bad, I've had to turn it off on the keyboard.
I also want to find a way to mod the stamina mode 3 so it's device performance but kills data too just as per the Z3C.
I'll attach some screen shots too so you can see what I mean... Just a bit disappointed.
Your experience is similar to mine. I have about 30% left when the day is over and that is with having about 2-3 hours of screen time. I turned off the majority of location and updates and keep screen brightness to a minimum. Despite not being as good as what I was expecting, it's better than the Pixel I had before this phone which couldn't make it through my usual 16 hour day without being plugged in.
that an estimated time only, depending on your history use.
but yeah z3c was kinda king with battery... i dont think this one will be. Sna835 is powerefficientier but remember that apps will be alway hungrier too.
It's better than majority of phones on the market... I think the Z3C spoilt us though, it was definitely king, even at its age it still gives well over 36 hours use.
Im having a great time with my xz1c.
My first charge
My first full charge is pretty good 51 hours alive with 5,5 hours screen on time.
I have disabled vibrations when typing, manual screen brightness (most of the time set at about 1/3), sync on all the time, Wi-Fi and LTE enabled all the time
Use gmaps, chrome, played 1:40h heavy game... Im satisfied with it..
The only strange thing I see is high battery drop over night.
It goes more than 10%, I was hoping for 3%. Phone idle battery consumption is on top then. I hope it will change in the future ROMs.
Do you guys see it also?

you can limit an app on background and also limit its data use. make a test: close all aps overnight and see if it changes.

I'm gonna try this, as I'm also seeing a big battery drop overnight. My Z3c used to drop 2% overnight, this drops massively.
I think the stamina mode isn't the same as previous z compact phones. Really really struggling to bond with this phone man lol.

well see if there is app eating your battery in the battery stats. if yes than choose the option on the app to limit it on background. Dont forget to limit its data plan on background too in the data plan menu.
reboot the phone. close all aps and go to sleep.
tell us if something changed.
Lost 2% in my 8 hour sleep.

I've noticed that Google Play Services seems to get the hump if you have any extended stamina mode. When I check app battery usage with stamina mode on, GPS is one of the top users. But not there with stamina mode off. If fact stamina mode seems to use more battery than if its turned off. I need to do a few more charges to confirm.
Battery life is excellent btw, better than any phone I have had before. Regularly getting to three days of use.
I have power mode activated with zx1 compact I disable the vibration jacket and some useless application kindeXXX is still improved battery life

So it's been a few days! So far I've:
- Changed my SwiftKey setting to vibration off,
- stamina mode changes to performance orientated instead of battery life biased like before,
- auto brightness off
- Limited MANY app's background data and background running as above (cheers for that mate)
- priority mode on to alert me of important calls only, everything else just uses the notification light with no sounds.
I'm now finally, because of the above, beginning to see 2 days battery life almost 3 days last week!
Still more to do for good battery like instead of just stamina mode On like on the Z3C but hey I guess I can live with it!
So as happy as I am... Still can't get to the bottom of why it loses the first 10% so fast?! Check this out, taken off charge like just over an hour ago and I've lost 4% already!
From 80% onwards it lasts a good while but damn man why's it losing the initial 10% or so that fast?!
This is my battery life for the last few days, it's been good... But this is doing my head in, losing first 10%so fast...
... And I've lost another 2% since that last post! Ffs man.

Lost 15% of the battery while my 10hr sleep today. Very strange. My Z3c used to eat no more than 3% without any limitations, closing apps or stamina mode.
Hi guys,
I keep having weird battery behaviour which led me to believe, that the battery is not properly calibrated:
When charged to 100%, the phone usually stays at 100% for a few hours depending on usage. Around 40% however it keeps dropping 1% every 2-3 seconds until after a few minutes it is drained completely and switches off.
Did anyone else notice that kind of behaviour? (Some guys on Reddit are facing the same issues)
And does anyone know a fix except waiting for a custom rom?
Thanks and all the best.

Same here, I didn't notice the battery after 40% but the phone stays at 100% for a really long time, I played Honkai Impact at max setting and it still manages to stay at 100% for an hour, mb it's software issue, I'm on 12.5.7 Global btw.
I didn't experienced that kind of issue. 12.5.13.0 EEA here.
you have to calibrate the battery.
- discharge the battery until the phone turns off
- with a slow charger (10 / 25w) charge the mobile OFF
- once it reaches 100% (1-2 hrs) wait another 2 hours.
- Power up and test.
This method usually solves this problem, it is important to use a slow charger and only use the 120w one when it is really necessary. It seems that some batteries have not been properly calibrated

For me viper4android it's much better if you use wired headphones. I tried to use Dolby but it's not the same.
I'm on 12.5.13.0 EEA, same problem. Phone stay at 100% for hours, then when power dropped to 35-30% weird thing happened, it keeps dropping 1% every 2-3 seconds until after a few minutes it is drained completely and switches off.
Then it takes 5-10 minutes to start again
I will try to calibrate the battery tonight
Hi, I was facing a similar issue.
I have used 3 chargers. 120W (stock), 10W (samsung), 65W (Anker). I was worried about my battery life, so decided to ditch the 120W charger which was also not giving me a good enough battery life, considering its a 5000 mah phone.
Im not paid by anker or something, but I saw a major difference between SOT compared with stock and samsung charger as well. I dont know why this is working out so well, but im getting 7+Hrs SOT easily, on heavy usage. AndI have been getting consistent results from the past week since i switched to anker. I genuinely dont know why or how this is working. But if it works, it works.
Im assuming due to the 120W quick charge, the battery calibration gets messed up. But idk how to explain the longer duration of SOT on the anker charger.
Ps. I dont use 5G

yes, I don't think you are very far from the problem. I also think that charging the mobile at 120w spoils the calibration of the battery so I use it only at specific times. I use a standard 15w charger (approx 2hrs)
3 days later It looks like calibration sorted my issues. Now battery behaves as is should.
So calibration is very recommended if battery plays up
I recently purchased this cell phone, and I am experiencing this problem. I have disabled almost everything, and uninstalled blotware. Should I calibrate the battery to improve battery drain?

Please read my reply in this thread, that will extend the battery drastically.
im facing this problem with this phone as well but also something else: after the battery drops to 18-20% it then discharges very very quickly to a point where in a matter of 5-10 minutes of use it's down to 0%. is this normal or is it another one of those side effects that their trashy fraudulent scamming xiaomi battery measurement causes?
will another rom fix these issues or are we stuck with them in this phone i rapidly regret getting?
I'm also facing the same issue, below 25% to 0% it drains like a liquid, I attached the screen record

mine got fixed (at least for now) by calibrating the battery (leave it to discharge and turn off - try to turn on again until it wont - charge to 100% with phone off) i'll see how long this lasts and update
Ya i did it for now it is fixed might be a temporary fix. I'll post here if it happens again
Same problem at first month, 100 - 99 became shorter and shorter while charging cycle increasing.
