Hi,
I'm running Nik Project X Rebirth 3.6 and it doesn't seem to come with the function to long press volume up to skip to the next song. Is there any mods for the IncS that I can install in order to enable this?
thanks in advance
Try this:
Install XPosedFramework http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk
Open the Installer
Go to Framework
Press Install/Update
Reboot
Install XblastTools http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294419
Enable the module
Reboot
Open XBlast Tools APP
Go to Volume Key Tweaks
Enable the first one
Reboot another time^^
Now it should work

Thank you, worked great! I used Xposed's authors Toolkit, but it does the same thing anyway.

I installed the Volume key long press media control from einstein.frat and noticed that i cannot view my recent app. Someone mentioned a solution which is, Go to /system/usr/keylayouts and find this file synaptics-rmi-touchscreen.kl .Open it in text editor and file this line key 249 MENU . Change MENU to APP_SWITCH .Then save and reboot.
However when i tried to save the changes to the text file it says:
'Can't write file:/system/usr/keylayout/synaptics-rmi-touchscreen.kl open failed:EACCES (Permission denied)'.
The permission for the text file is rw-r--r--. Im running the Nameless ROM v7.2 Build 5.
On xplore or es file go to settings then mount as root, then you could modify files.

Recent apps is long press home key on nameless, if you want to change it, use nikhil's AROMA Customiser. hope I helped!

I like the change in Nameless because I used to accidentally touch the recent app from time to time. Now I only load it when I really need it.

Is there any way how I can disable my 3 physical buttons, and trade them for 3 software buttons?
Please be more specific, at least tell us what ROM you're using...

i think someone was able to do this by adding a code to the build.prop.

to disable the button remap they!
Use "button remapper" (search it on google cause isn't on play store) and assign "focus" to home, back and menu buttons.
The app is simple to use and the values to change are last in the list.
focus work only when you are on camera app.

I managed to get it right, and it works fine. The lights will still show about 5 seconds after boot, but when the script starts running they dissapear, so that's good to me. So thank you very much!
Question about the lack of menu button.
So before buying the phone I I check into it and found out it used the 3dots and not a menu button like other androids.
Also found the back button long press as menu hack.
I have that install but I am still having problems and got questions.
First what do you do when the app your on doesn't have the 3dots?
Xda app doesn't have it to make a new thread. Also found a few of my older apps don't have it either.
Next the problem.
80% of the time when I press and hold the back button it just goes back. Or it will go back and then open the 3dot menu.
Is there any way to fix this or map the menu to long press home?

You can use Elemental X kernal and have the HTC logo as a menu button that's what I use and it works a treat. Are you on a custom OS as if you are you may have flashed something with the 3dot away mod explaining why you never see it?

Stock rooted tmobile Rom.
Xposed mod for back button.
And I don't truly like custom kernels. Had problems in the pass and had to update them weekly

That kernal is stable and doesn't require updating every week so it's a good option for you
+1 for elemental X. It's great. What about if you download pie control from the play store and set a menu control that way? I used to use the back button method but find it doesn't work half of the time. HTC logo2menu from custom kernels work 100%
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
If you prefer to avoid custom kernel, then use a Rom based on 4.2.2 as these allow long press home to be enabled for menu
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Thanx for the information.
I'll try the pie control for now. And look into the 4.2 Roma and kernel.
I'm so dumb. If you use the hack it hides the menu. Never knew that since I rooted and install the Xposed hack hrs after having the phone.

Please help. I have ARHD 20.2 rom but my APM doesn't work. When I press restart button, instead of going to APM it will restart immediately. Xposed module is already installed and APM already checked.
Open xposed installer app then select "framework" then install/update then reboot.

Thanks for the reply. But i've already do that. But will not go to apm when pressing restart.

Xposed framework along with the GravityBox [KK] module is working on the M8. Every option does not work, but I have configured my 'back' button to work as 'Menu' when double tapped, I decreased the font size of the battery percent, and added Advanced Reboot Menu.
**You must have write protection disabled for this to work.
This is not my work...

awesome! This allows me to get long press back to kill and also long press recents for menu. I'm using this with Sense Toolbox 6.0 alpha.

Where did u find Sense Toolbox 6.0? Did you pull it from another ROM or is there a link? I was unable to find a link for just the toolbox.

Not all the mods work, but a lot of them do. Check out the google doc link in the post to see what works and what doesn't. The APM in Sense Toolbox 6 matches Sense more than the one in Gravity.
Thanks! There are some really nice customizations in the sense toolbox. I'm using some from the sense toolbox in conjuction with gravity and I'm really liking my setup.
