Hi all,
I recently rooted my phone and installed the Viper ROM on my HTC One M7 but saw MaximusHD ROM and thought I would try another. Anyway I installed the ROM with no issue going through the installer picking the options I wanted, however after the phone restarts it show the unlock screen (with the time and battery at the top), when I try to unlock it I get the HTC green text on a white screen and I cannot do anything except use the volume controls, it then restarts itself going through the logo process again and again.
I have TWRP V2.6.3.0 recovery installed.
This happens to other ROMs I have tried such as Android Revolution HD 22.0 and including the Viper that I installed before. Does any one have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks for your time and many thanks in advance for the help
Just an update:
I managed to get Cyanogen ROM installed, I can unlock the phone and play about with it for a few minutes but it restarts itself...being a new fresh ROM does anyone know why it is doing this?
Thanks again.

Are you wiping before you flash? What I do is a nandroid backup, factory reset, format system, flash new ROM.

Hi
I have just (to make sure) wiped everything on the phone via TWRP (factory reset and storage) and sideloaded Cyanogen Mod on my HTC One. After installation I cleared the Dalvik Cache and restarted the phone. It has done the same thing after 1 minute or so restarts, my SIM is inserted but no network is show.
Could this be something to do with anything below?
***TAMPERED***
***UNLOCKED***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.54.0000
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-2.24.401.8
Thanks...
I have now tried TrickDroid but get the same problem. It will install fine, get to the lock screen then restart itself or if I unlock it, stay on the green HTC logo screen with the white background.
Can anyone shed any light on this please?
Many Thanks
You wouldnt happen to have a Sprint phone, would you?

Sprint phone? How would I find that out? Do Sprint phones require different ROMs?
No as you are UK based it is NOT a sprint phone
It sounds like you need to do a "clean install" and not a "dirty install"
As you have tried the ARHD and that's my rom of choice:
Back up your personal data (via an app and Google account)
this is lifted from the first post of ARDH 22
How to flash:
Download ROM and place it on your virtual SD card
Boot your phone in recovery mode (vol down + power)
In main menu, select "install zip from sdcard"
Select "choose zip from sdcard" and browse to the location of Android Revolution ROM
You can use data wiping option in AROMA (optionally if coming from earlier version of my ROM, obligatory if coming from stock or other custom ROM)
After flashing process is complete, reboot the device
The red highlighted stuff is what I think you are missing

I had rooted my phone a long while ago, and was running custom roms. Recently the ICS release was made for HTC Inc S, so I decided I would go back to Stock ROM and upgrade. I backed up my contacts on my PC, loaded up Clockworkmod and wiped everything (wanted to clear up my 8gb card), then I reboot. Problem is, after my reboot, it just goes to white screen with green HTC logo. HELP! I cant afford a new phone atm tried holding volume up, and power, after removing battery, just goest to white screen again. Any ideas?
EDIT: Realized it's volume down plus power again, can get into bios thing, now what lol?
I want to install a RUU .exe that has Stock rom, should I try getting back to backup first?

It's not necessary to backup your rom if you're moving to a newer ruu
Here's a thread linking to the wwe ics ruu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757018
To be able to install this, your CID must be in the WWE List (fastboot getvar cid). But if your CID is not WWE, this is where the making of a goldcard comes about (there are lots of methods in the web, just google it).

haha :S I now feel stupid, have no clue what your talking about. I will look it up though thanks, hopefully I can figure it out quick, being without a phone sucks!
EDIT: NM you gave me a link to a .zip, the one I had before was weird. I think I might have this, Thanks a lot man!!!!
So I am trying to install the ROM, but it just installs in 1sec (defiantly shouldn't install so quick) then when I reboot nothing.

Just install some custom rom first. After you boot into it run the RUU.exe and follow the steps. It should work. You can download the custom rom zip file to your SD card in the recovery or use pc card reader with an adapter.

How are you trying to install the ROM? What is the filename?
Flashed AndroidRevolution 8.0 tonight and without restarting, I also flashed the latest BulletProof 1.7.1 kernel. Now my phone will not reboot...stuck at the HTC screen. I can hold the power button down and restart in to the bootloader, but when I try to start recovery (CWM Touch), the Clockwork insignia flashes like it's getting ready to start, but then right back to the HTC screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
When installing AR, I did choose the International version vs. the ATT version (which I have) is that makes a difference. I read where choosing the international version would perhaps fix some wifi issues I was running in to.
Thanks in advance.

no thats not the reason its the recovery when you do a factory reset it happens sometimes.
what you need to do is download the all in one tookit open it hard reset you phone into bootloader. in the toolkit select erase cache. it will say 2 windows will pop up close the first one. if the second one says waiting for device press the power button and it should start. once it finishes close the window and select install recovery. select the recovery of your choice and do the same thing you did for cache. when it finishes close window and select reboot recovery

Hey Alan ... I faced a similar situation when i tried to flash ARHD ... I fixed it by going into fastboot mode on the phone ... then sending "fastboot erase cache" ... Then re-installing CWM recovery to the phone ... I was then able to restore from a nandroid backup on the phone ... tried to install ARHD 8.0 again and let the phone restart and success
Hope this is help to you.
Brett
What he said it works great I have had the same thing happen and doing just what skins said fixed me right up !! Goodluck !
Hey guys...really really appreciate the help...that fixed her right up. Installing ROM again now!! Seriously, thanks for taking the time to help me out. I was not looking forward to sitting in front of my computer half the night fiddling with this phone...lol
Glad to hear it worked for you !! I painced when it happened to me to but all was good after following the steps !
Ran into the same issue. Kudos to skin.
Thanks!
Okay so basically yesterday I got my lovely spanking HTC ONE (m7) and quickly proceeded to downloading the One_All-In-One_Kit, uncloked the bootloader and rooted the phone successfully.
I then proceeded to download ARHD and flash it accordingly, everything went swimmingly, the ROM installed via Aroma as it should, yep all nice and dandy. NO! After the installation, I rebooted, get to the HTC bootscreen, I'm presented with a nice new red message at the bottom and then the phone restarts itself, tries to enter recovery, that doesn't work, then it tries booting up again and does the same thing over and over.
I've flashed the ROM several times and get the same thing each time. I've tried RGUI and get the same sort of thing with that only with RGUI the phone doesn't try rebooting into recovery it just stays on the HTC bootscreen.
I'm desperate for help on this so please, if anyone has any insight it would be highly appreciated.
I hope you're not also flashing any of the custom kernels on here....cos they're not compatible with 4.2.2
Nope not flashing anything else but the ROM itself..
after flashing did you try "fastboot erase cache" ?
sometimes that helps when phones get stuck on the HTC logo after a rom flash.
Use the toolkit to erase cache

Yeah done that several times too. Can't seem to work out why it isn't working and I too can't find the correct RUU for my device meaning I can't even take it back to stock
try to hold power + volume down to get into the bootloader to get back into recovery. Once in recovery factory reset, erase cache, erase dalvik, and reflash the rom.
also download the andorid SDK for fastboot and adb, then try "adb reboot bootloader" if you can not get back into the bootloader to get into recovery
My friend had his do this loop as well, we had trouble getting it into recovery, but held the button combo of power and vol down several times (probably 10) and it FINALLY booted into the custom Clockwork recovery, then we reflashed and it worked like a charm.
Also try redownloading... it could be a bad download

Just a word of advice. Update your profile to say your country and carrier. It helps people identify which device model and carrier you use.
Thanks for the help so far guys, basically I can get into recovery, that's not the problem, the problem is the phone gets stuck on the HTC screen after the ROM has been installed. I'll try downloading the ROM again when I can, in the hope that it is just a bad download. Hopefully this is the case and re-flashing a newly downloaded ROM will solve all my issues.
I'll post back with the result as and when I can.

Hi everyone !
I have HTC Sensation XL, once I was trying to install custom rom in it. I unlocked bootloader then I installed recovery. But I forgot to S-OFF my phone. I installed CM10.1 in phone through recovery after making backup my previous rom which was original ICS 4.0.3. But when I installed cm10.1, it says installation failed. I got back to recovery to restore my previous rom but whn got back there and select restore option it said" can't mount SD card". I tried so many times to restore but same message prompted. Finally restart my phone into bootloader there I did factory reset accidentally. actually i was trying to go into recovery, but select factory reset. This action wiped the whole system of my phone. Now whenever i start my phone it stuck on HTC logo and don't boot further.
Please anybody have solution for this problem? Please help me otherwise i'll lost my phone.
Please help me.

Hi, i'd face a same problem here, and i'd tried flash another recovery and things go worst, stuck on htc logo once boot in recovery. Any solution?

Hi, first Amaraja: there is no need to S-OFF phone after Unlock Bootloader, you can see image from my phone bootloader, and also two images are from my home screen and system info. Everything is okay and i am happy with stock room.
And now both of you, best way is to Relock phone again by the "fastboot oem lock". Then try with original RUU to back phone to normal.

I have the AT&T HTC Vivid and am trying to install cyanogenmod on it and it keeps restarting when cyanogenmod loads
I have tried the regular tutorial as well as:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20795908
I have the HTC unlock, s-on.
I tried both clockwork recovery and wcxrecovery
I was able to flash cyanogenmod 'cm-10-20131006-NIGHTLY-holiday.zip'
Installed in recovery, and then flashed the boot.img in fastboot (tried alternating the order)
cleared cache / factory reset / dalvik cache
Still it will only get to the first screen then restarts. First boot will get it to language selection and then as soon as a selection is made, it restarts.
I have searched a lot, but most of the results are for the problem of the recovery stuck when starting (which I fixed with the unlock), or with it never getting past boot screen.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cleared the data again including /system and it will get to the home screen, but if I try to do anything it freezes and reboots, and now is bootlooping, and no longer gets to the home screen.

Sounds like you need to do an RUU from gingerbread to ICS...
If you're on vodaphone... You'll prolly need to s-off... So you can use supercid and then use another carriers ICS RUU so you have the newer hboot...
