did you try flashing the latest SU in recovery?
What version of twrp?
Try booting into recovery then boot back to Android. It should prompt you to flash super su.

No issues, install TWRP and flash your preferred super user app via TWRP. I choose to use the "clockwork" super user.

Which version of twrp are you on? I just went from completely locked, not rooted 4.3 to unlocked and rooted 4.3 with twrp 2.6.3 yesterday. After booting into Android after flashing twrp it prompted me to download the SuperSU, which then asked if I wanted to do the twrp install, which then automatically went into recovery, installed, and rebooted. This worked perfectly for me

So making sure I understand you correctly, you went from stock 4.3 unrooted and then unlocked bootloader then installed twrp? If so what method did you use to unlock bootloader and install twrp? I've always used hassoons toolkit and I'm trying to find out if I can do it that way before I mess my phone up. ( touchscreen) I'm trying to find out if there are differences in unlocking and rooting 4.1.2 and 4.3. I can't find a straight answer with all this 4.3 update clutter and guys whining about it. I've read a lot and I'm still confused.

Yes, I was completely stock 4.3. No unlock or root. Unlocked using HTC tool, then used adb to flash twrp. When you boot back into android, it prompts you to install supersu, which sends you back into twrp and installs. Boot back into android and you're rooted.
Just make sure you flash 2.6.3.0. The older version does not work right
I did flash the 2.6.3.0 and flashed superuser and is on there Like if i was rooted to the point that it cant even be uninstalled. I think it was the outdated files from qbking77.

Hi!
I have a C6603 on 10.3.1.A.0.244 Generic. The device has a locked BL (so stock kernel), but it is rooted and has a custom recovery installed.
Now the OTA Updater tells me 10.3.1.A.2.67 is available. Is it safe to apply this update or will it softbrick the device, since it is rooted and has a custom recovery image installed?
Best regards
In my experience, It's safe, but you'll lose root and your custom recovery. You'll need to reinstall both the recovery and re root it.
Thanks for both of you
I have similar issue here BUT:
C6602
10.3.1.A.0.244
I have unlocked bootloader and dual recovery
When attempting to install the new OTA update, it fails when using the system update option on the device and when trying to update using the PC Companion, it says: The phone contains modified software that cannot be updated
should re-locking bootloader solve this issue?

My personal experience : OTA will not install because you have custom recovery: will just reboot and gives the error on installation.
However if I'm rooted and on the stock recovery, OTA installs absolutely OK and does NOT break root (just reinstall SuperSU from the GMarket and update binaries after the update)
Saying so, I can NOT give any guarantee that the root will stay in your particular case, it's just my personal experience.

did you unlock the bootloader and root? Its not a problem with TWRP. Since you have received the OTA sounds like you didn't do any of the requirements to install TWRP. I would do some research on Unlock Bootloader, ROOT.

TWRP isn't going to let you install the OTA file. You need to update your firmware. Flash lastest TWRP in Hboot or fastboot. I would read this thread here.

To upgrade you need to flash lastest firmware then ROM of your choice. To make that happen you need updated TWRP. The ruu is your OS and firmware, you better care.
I just recovered my phone with twrp recovery and the root is now gone so my phone is not currently rooted. And there is an OTA update. But I can't install it. It takes me to tarp recovery. So any help. What if I delete the twrp recovery and then install update?

You must have stock recovery to install ota update along with an unmodified /system files, unmodified /data/preload files.
return to stock using a RUU before applying the ota is probably the safer way to go now with lollipop updates if you want to avoid a bootloop.

Thanks, and what do I have to do? How do I revert root and recovery?
Factory reset from recovery?
Use HWOTA Tool for updating. It works very well. You need to download the firmware manually via Huawei Update Finder.
