Hello friends,
I was thinking about a new ICS based rom for your beloved P970 my OptiX rom
Ofcorse i thought about the modifications too (Center Clock / Camera)
Befor i can do somethink i have some questions:
Which version can i take? V30b or V30c?
Which kernel are atm a good kernel for ICS?
Who wants to be a "beta" tester?
Thank you for answering...
I Can Test beta
Thank you cevrepinar
Look for 4 beta tester more... if you wanted to test it please writte it here
i would like to test anything new but i dont know what is logcat or things like these but i can tell you about problems,FC's , lag , battery drain and thigs like these
Its ok @MRDK-OB thank you for helping me
INFO for all: will finish this work today or lately tomorrow after that, the testers get the downloadlink and try the rom :good:
I like a rom with full appearance AOSP(lockscreen, status bar, Settings, wallpapers) all the other Roms(based on stock) look very LG.
by other hand, i think CM 10 is better than V30b,c. Only left to do a rom that merge CM10 + mackay kernel 3.2 For CM10(Overclock ) + LG Cam for CM10 + Tweaks + services.jar patched For Supercharger v6 + turbo boost + Halo + Pie. if you do that i think would be one of the best rom for p970
and CM10.2(velox and oddisey) looks very promissing, almost stable.
Thanks in advance for your work on our optimus black.
Well maybe will work later on CM10 let us see what the time will brings
Today i will start with my work for your device, i have taken the v30B as someone has recommended.
So let us see what i can do for you, hehe
Thanks... All ROM's are welcome.
As for me, I would like something looking like JB but fast and Battery friendly as Gingerbread.
.... just a thought...

V30B and V30C have no differences other than carrier bloatware,Stock kernel is already great or you can update it to kernel 3.0.99 for better performance.Sorry,I want a stable ROM for now,soo no testing.

I'd go to be a beta tester. First thing's first, the battery life is a must. I used Zeus 6.4 and IZS 2.. Both have good battery life when you apply the right tweaks. Goodluck and thanks in advance! ^_^
PS: JB lookalike would be good.

Good luck...
Thank you all they will help me :good:
I will let you know if i am finish with my work...
At the moment i have deodexed the rom and add busybox, root and some AOSP apps.
Now i have to writte the updater-script completely new (that could be a bit heavy), after that i will made my mods for the optimus back, too.
If i have finished this you will get an message with rom to test it
i can be your beta tester

Hi guys.
I've been looking for a ROM to replace Cyanogen...
Found this Echelon ROM (Brahma) and saw the feedback was good about it.
Battery improved, smooth use... anyway, I flashed CM 7 months ago on my P970 and it's working good for me but I think there is more power in my device, but seems that all this power isn't being shown by CM.
Advise me here, is a good change to go from CM to Echelon?
Thank you!

Make a nandroid and then try echelon. If you dont like it, you re back to CM in about 10 minutes i prefere it very much by CM, cause it has less bugs (0), is fast, stable and the battery for me is waaay better as in CM.
Hope it helps

Thank you too much!
Will flash Echelon ASAP!
Keep helping us
i'm on zeus v6 right now and i like it very much, next week going to try echelon brahma for sure.. en then make a dicision what rom i like the most.
zeus and echelon are the roms i like the most..
ik also tried cm a couple of weeks ago but that wasn't going very well.
I strongly recommend you to do this.
Echelon works fine, is an excellent rom for OB, altough it isn't finished yet.
Post your feedback here!
Echelon and Mavel versions are great, Cm is for me the best Rok for the OB, but hattery consumption is horrible, try Marvel instead Echelon and you wont regret.
Regards!
Agreed... CM has horrible battery drain, that's why I'm trying other ROMS.
I'm using Zeus v6 and I'm enjoying this ROM. Also tryed Echelon, but it is unfinished, besides is a nice ROM too.
Will try the Marvel ROM soon, wanna find the best ROM for me
I recommend you to try Echelon ROM (Brahma). Its the most stable custom rom I've tested by far. I am currently using it for over a week now and I haven't experienced any bugs or crushes compared to CM7.
I have a little problem though on setting up Live Wallpapers.
Do anyone of you know how to set Live Wallpapers in this rom?
Cheers,

Hi,
i installed the Echelon ROM on my Black too, and im very satisfied with this rom. Its the best ROM currently on market, and im following the Echelon Thread nearly every day to check if there are any Updates regarding this ROM.
But unfortunately today i didnt find the Thread anymore?!
It seems that the developer of this rom has deleted his Thread?
Does anybody know why? It would be very sad if he decided to stop this ROM

Brahma was a base ROM for V20o with minimal tweaks, but faster than stock. As what could have been next will never be seen, like a unicorn. For what can be/could have been added, what lacks..
*Try the iwconfig for TX Power
*GPS fix (or compare gps.conf to others)
*For some values, download Sysctl Config in Market (you will have a sysctl.conf file automatically added in system/etc)
*Didn't add Terminal, download one in market
*Didn't delete libGLES_android (for battery), up to you. There are tweaks in build.prop anyway.
*Has original libsqlite (Alpha and Brahma), working bluetooth out of the box
*In Alpha I added quickpic and deleted galery3d, alarm clock in exchange of another.
Why dont you continue it dude? Means I have to switch to Zeus again? I really loved your ROM, as you should know Sad to hear...
Or do I get anything wrong?

Up to you, it's the trend nowadays... If I find something interesting, it will be PM'd so you can update.
i was wondering, where is the echelon topic went? i couldn't find it anymore..
to bad, i think you did a fantastic job on a rom that had only two release versions..
the original thread was:

it seems to have been deleted or disabled ...
phew, good thing i have not flash other ROM on top of this Echelon. This is most preferable rom for me currently. Thanks Gabwerkz!

when it show choose luncher select MIUI luncher..
don't use torch or delete it..

No in call screen cann't be changed but hope that here some best rom developer make it possible..
Have to give this one a go, this is what I have been waiting for a GB MIUI based on stock! Giddy Up!!!
edit: Ok this rom has lots of promise, but for now it cant be used as a daily driver. A few minor bugs need looking into, would be great if we could get some devs to look into this. I much prefer GB based roms for my arc, and this one fully working would be spectacular!
seriously..
if someone made a complete ROM based on this,
gonna be rock on roll!
gonna be legendary
What is the difference between this and other MIUI's we have already? :S

This one is based on stock Sony firmware. Others are based on CM7 which means some things don't work (hdmi, fm etc) To have this one fixed we would have a FULL working miui/stock hybrid

er, is this real rom or i need some work to done or unusable at all?
i want to test it but can somebody explain how to make it work?
Copy the rom to SD card and install with CWM, same as with you would any other rom
i tried but it stuck/restart (don't remember) to boot screen. using gb kernel.
i love miui because of simplicity, & app launcher management (& hate redudancy, thousant of shortcut for 1 app), reason for me keep using go launcher.
but i also can't stand memory hungry ics based & battery hungry cm based rom.
Dev needed, would love to see this rom fixed
I have put together a working rom based on this for Arc and Arc S with a few tweaks. Keep in mind I am NOT a developer, more just a cook lol
HDMI/FM + Everything else working
will upload now
When you are going to upload? Will this work with doomlords GB kernel?

The Galaxy Note is my first Android device, after enjoying a couple of years with the absolute freedom of Maemo. It was a sad day when Nokia decided to ditch MeeGo, and go for Windows Mobile. And a couple of months ago my dearest N900 decided to call it a day.
Now I think I had enough of the Stock installation from Samsung (after flashing the German Stock ICS).
Yesterday I flashed Criskelo, and it was an OK experience, but not quite what I was looking for.
My wishlist for a ROM:
1. SNote, SPlanner and the E-Mail app from stock.
2. Focus on speed and battery.
3. As minimalistic as possible (Drop all the eye-candy)
Now for the question: Which MOD is matching my criterias, or atleast as close as possible?
And yes, I have read page up and page down in the Dev-section, but a lot of the ROM's have a content-list which is very incomplete. So I'm asking you, who have been using mods for some time, and perhaps have been trying a lot of them.
And in light of the possible LPY-bug, which might have caused a couple of hardbricks (Or was it just 1 hardbrick?), I rather not flash through all of the mods.
Hi
Ok, im not recommending this rom just because im using it. I have tried all kinda roms around and finally im using Darky Rom for like few months now and it works great.
For galaxy note current stable rom is :
Build : DarkyROM_Note v 3.4.1 Extreme Edition
Kernel : NoteCore 0.1
but the only thing is it runs n android 2.3.6. ICS rom is still under development. Their kernal is in-house developed and most of the thunderbolt scripts removed. Battery life is way too great. 24hrs connected 2G network and my battery lasts 1day 6hrs+
give it a try. u wont regret..

If you need stability: Temasek's CM7 (for stock/CM android experience) or any rebuild of LG's stock rom (if you just love LG's UI that much)
If you want features: Perhaps one of the ICS roms, but there are some bugs you should be aware of (should be stated in thread)

If you want something that you can rely on just try temasek's unofficial cm7 or any rom that's based on it (Gueste, Chuck Norris). For me it's by far more stable and reliable than any CM9/CM10 roms right now.

I see there are 3 Editions to choose from, which one is the best "battery saver"?
Also, is there a page explaining the basic differences between those 3 editions?
I assume that using Clockworkmod I'll still be able to reflash the phone with any future ROM available, isn't it? Regardless of any kind of EXTx used? Maybe when (if) ICS kernel will be released / leaked - I've heard they released it for the SU660 lately... :good:

U can see what I am using....I have no issues with this....
stablest is Flix version as I has been stable since a long time.
I would always choose my choice by trying
Ext 3 is usually smoother for me....but some feel it is a placebo effect
but when the ICS really comes(I really hope it comes ), you will surely find a excellent ICS Custom ROM from my developer friends....maybe much better than Stock...so, dont worry mate
just go on and flash
did it - flashed Django ROM, stock edition, very good!!!
flashed it, it's better then LG stock for sure, maybe MUCH better and battery seems to last more (will test it).
Thanks for advice, I like it very much :good:

Re: official release MIUI V4.1 for P990
How is his performance and optimisation? It's laggy? The best rom for GB was in my opinion the MIUI final release, however, new MIUI roms doesn't seems to be optimised, don't know if it is due to graphics.
Anyway , i'll give it a try

hi
at the moment this is the best MIUI I have ever tried.
suffers from a problem that has already solved Rugglez.

regards ringtones.
for the rest works very well and does not have blocks and is very fluid.
thanks Smartbird and Rugglez.

Am I the only one who can't make it work? The booting process stucks at the miui logo. I dont know why. Everything is Ok. I am on new bl+pt layout using cwm 6.0.2.5 and yes I did full wipe. Tonyp's cm10 for new bl and every other cm works perfectly. The only thing I figured out the data partition doesn't get mounted during the boot and that's why it won't boot.
Re: official release MIUI V4.1 for P990

Nope, I've got the same problem. Tried full wipe/format and even Rugglez' recovery file before installing (since MIUI is based on cm)
bugs fixed,3.3.4 was uploaded.

Tried it,its looking nice but it had low memory available on our low memory device
I had like 100mb free with no apps installed and with cm10 by pengus i have 175mb free on start in comparrison
This rom looks awesome and i hope it will include some memory tweaks so we can have more available ram,tnx
If miui stucks on boot screen, download my attachment, extract it then reboot your phone to nvflash mode then double click on flash.bat file, after all miui should boot up.
