[Q] [Experiment] TX firmware on T - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Greetings everyone,
I have a quite dumb question, since I've seen many users trying to have T ROMs on their TXs - is it possible to boot a TX firmware or ROM on the Xperia T? Has anyone tried that? The main reason is the color saturation. I know it's probably 99% hardware problem, but I've entered Service Menu and checked Display. And it's perfect! Cear, pure colors, with deep and real black.
It's very frustrating to have that view problem, with dimming effect or what the heck it is...
When in Album (with BE activated) the differences are almost none between TX and T (T even has more clearity and sharpness, with some extra brightness).
By the way, I have already modified values in pre_hw_config.sh... Even installed an app that filters the screen (and managed to get rid of that autoadjustment effect!) but I'm still unsatisfied with the overall saturation, those washed colors in the UI... Some background color schemes seem to be painted, with distinct shades clearly seen (Album art background color, i.e.). That's awfull.
If the screen is differently calibrated - then why in the Service Menu the colors are excelent and almost the same as in TX?
That's why I think that are chances that 1% could be ROM or Kernel's fault. A software thing...

I cannot guarantee you these words are true but I've read somewhere that somebody did flash TX ROM on his T.
Except from other problem fixes, he also discovered that the WiFi signal reception got really better.
So I think nothing wrong could happen. We know a lots of cases when T ROM was flashed to TL or at least T ROM on TX (the only wrong thing then was broken XPERIA lighting). I think everything will be ok
My phone is T. Xperia T.

Thanks, now you maked me even more curious about this thing. I don't think something really bad will happen, like not booting at all, not being recognised by SUS or Flashtool etc. I hope so...
Maybe I'll try to flash tomorrow a stock TX ROM - and then report (also if there's a screen quality/behaviour changed). :cyclops:

FLASHED
I managed to flash TX firmware. Everything worked just fine, phone booted without problems...
The bad thing: does not vibrate at all and the camera is messed up it's upside down, it won't focus and when tries to capture - freezes.
The very good part: THE SCREEN IS SUPERB, NO MORE DIMMING, AUTO-ADJUSTMENT, NO MORE BRIGHTNESS OR CONTRAST FADING it's unbelievable! The contrast is much better, no more washed out colors... I knew it was a software issue!!!
Now... I don't know if it's just a kernel problem or not. I need unlocked bootloader to flash TX kernel, right? With LB and Flashtool won't work (by frashing TX completely and flash over T firmware with kernel "excluded"...)
Help, help, help!

Do you have an idea? What should I do next?

You don't need unlocked BL to flash STOCK Xperia TX kernel. Stock kernel is signed by Sony and it will be accepted by your phone.
I don't know anything about fixing these problems, I'm no developer at all but I was thinking about creating a thread with some requests for TX libs and system files (WiFi etc)

Okay, I'll check if I could flash TX kernel over T original ROM somehow... And see if the kernel is the main problem of that annoying fade-in-out effect, washed colors etc.

[Q] blue artefacts / subpixels all over the screen

Hey!
I bought my galaxy 6 months ago. Not long after I noticed a minor issue with my AMOLED display. I could see blue "artefacts" in some bright areas of the screen from time to time. Nothing serious, just blue dots and stripes, subpixels. I even posted a picture of it on reddit (second attachment) more out of curiosity than anything but was later convinced it was probably a software issue. I did have some suspicions something might be wrong with my phone but it actually happened so rarely and the issue was so minor that I just got used to it because it didn't bother me that much.
I recently flashed dark core 2.2 along with rc6 and it got *significantly* worse. I could see blue subpixels all over the screen wherever there's bright white, generally on the lowest brightness setting. Now, I believed that the hardware got worse and it's time to ask for a replacement. So before doing so I obviously had to flash stock firmware and guess what - it all disappeared. So I flashed just the dark core again to go back to rc6 - and it was back again.
The thing is, I really love this ROM and I love the voodoo improvements that come with it. I don't think I can live without them any more. On the other hand, it might be difficult to convince people from samsung that there's actually something wrong with my phone - since it happens so rarely on stock ROM. And I think that this display defect is intensified by the screen improvements from voodoo/dark core.
My only idea is to somehow make it show up on stock ROM and send it to them just then. But is this even possible without rooting my phone? Does anyone has an idea why would these blue subpixels show up in white areas? Is it something they check with specialized equipment or do they boot the phone first to see what's wrong?
Anyway, guys if you could point me in the right direction or had any better ideas... Seriously, It would be helpful even if you said that I should just return my phone and hope for the best. I'm a student and I can't really afford to be charged for returning - what they think is - an operational phone
I attached two pictures
1. a picture of how my screen behaves after flashing the latest dark kernel
2. a picture of how my screen sometimes behave on stock kernels
I'd appreciate any help or advice

Whatsapp LED issue?

When I go to whatsapp settings and change the led light to green it doesn't really seem to work. What happens instead is when the phone screen is off and someone sends me a message, a white led light comes on instead (must be default light set by Sony) and when I switch the screen on the led finally flashes green. Some times both colours flash when screen is off
Anyone else have this issue? I tried light manager and when I did the led test the same problem occurs but this time it flashes green once and then back to white light...any way to solve this? A white light is pretty rubbish imo

Are you running under Stamina Mode? If you turn off Stamina, then you would find the LED works well.
It seems SONY didn't get LED issue under Stamina really resolved, SONY just gives LED White light ONLY and Fixed frequency ONLY under Stamina, and customerized light&frequency still not working under Stamina mode.

Ah that makes sense, Sony seem to always be a step behind...fixing one bug and another appears or in this case partially fixing it. This probably be my last Sony handset tbh

I think this is an Android related stuff: Fix one thing, break tons of others.
You can see it on CM, AOKP, AOSP. One fix, one bug.
"So I added this thing to have a smoother experience... Oh, it causes battery drain/wakelocks/breaks NFC, etc".
How many times have I seen stuff like that on Development section.

[HOW TO] Improve screen quality Xperia T (?)

Hey everyone,
As I've seen, many T users experience annoying and disappointing screen quality problem (dimming, auto-adjsting, washed-out colors, poor contrast etc). It's sad that aren't many solutions for that.
Some think it's just a hardware problem (cheap LCD) and live with it. I don't think so. Since I had TX before and the screen was superb - recently I thought what will happen if I flash stock TX firmware on T. The results were quite surprising. As I wrote on another post:
Everything worked just fine, phone booted without problems...
The bad thing: does not vibrate at all and the camera is messed up it's upside down, it won't focus and when tries to capture - freezes.
The very good part: THE SCREEN IS SUPERB, NO MORE DIMMING, AUTO-ADJUSTMENT, NO MORE BRIGHTNESS OR CONTRAST FADING it's unbelievable! The contrast is much better, no more washed out colors.
I'm not a developer and I don't have any knowledge about modifying system files, firmwares, kernels. But I know there's a way to make T's screen... normal.
What I managed to do so far: disabled Dynamic Luminance Scaling, as user peetr_ sugested here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34874453&postcount=151
The screen doesn't fade in and out anymore - so great improvement! White screen doesn't need seconds to become pure and bright after a black menu. But the background and contrast still remains a problem.
I installed Screen Adjuster from Play and set Brightness (NOT System brightness!) to 60-65%. The display seems a bit less brighter - and the fading black is totally gone.
I didn't find a tool or a solution to adjust the color/contrast. It's a kernel problem. If someone found a solution (or has an idea) - please share. As I wrote before, flashing TX firmware solves completely the issue (with the costs of having other bugs).

[Q] now I have recoveries what's the known best ROM (lb)

Hi all if you know me I have struggled without a laptop rooting my phone via towelroot etc
Now I got a laptop I have recoveries. Currently on the white v5 ROM (can't remember name)
But I want to know what the general sp community think is the best ROM for locked Bootloader. Will press thanks on all helpful answers.
Is it really worth unlocking bootloader for different ROM ?
Thanks guys
No such thing as a best ROM and the question should not be asked sorry.
I currently use Nexus Omni ROM and I think that is best but that's just my opinion.
Everyone has different needs try a few ROMs it's easy to flash and enjoy the learning experience, I am.
WelL not best ROM but how about best for gaming, best for battery life, best for music, best for having all customisations. Best for blank clean ROM (bloatware removed no extras) maybe some Roms are better than others on different peoples ideas. So yeah there is better ROMs. How is your ROM for gaming?
Thanks
Ryan
I did a lot of flashing etc back with xperia x8 and xperia neo I also like customising build prop etc for personal phone info (found in settings). For instance I had ROM that say it was apple iOS lol. Mixed up a bunch of ROMs (moving apks etc) I did alsorts. Make this thread as I want a full time ROM to use . a
I also posted hardware customisation. With x8 I applied a flash for the camera utilising a new "button" and micro soldering along with mounting of LED on rear case
££££££ QUESTION £££££££

That might be the touch sensitivity issue that some other faces as well. Try Glove Xperia to correct the problem.

Lollipop Camera Bug

Hello all,
Today, like most on here, i awoke to find that Android Lollipop was being rolled-out and as such decided to download the ftf and flash it onto my device.
Everything seemed to work pretty well until i decided to take a photograph. It seems that the entire top/right-hand side of my images are over-exposed/super bright.
Is anyone else seeing issues like this?
P.s. i have tested using both the SE and HK firmwares and both are showing this issue, I have since reverted back to Kitkat and all is well camera-wise.
I am currently at work so will post images later.

Same. I think this is their "Improvement" to low light pictures.

If so, should it not encompass the entire image?
The affected 'area' is the same regardless of lighting conditions.
I originally thought there could be moisture in my camera, so I reverted to Kitkat to check.
I have also noticed some over-exposure, but related to light sources, as well camera losing its fluidness when in low light situations, just like it was on sports mode or something. When you move around it seems to be 20 fps or so. Absolutely fine in video mode, though. When there is more light I can confirm everything is normal. Moreover, when in low-light conditions, color reproduction is a little bit not accurate, it tends to shift towards yellow.
As promised, attached is a photograph taken of the ground in balanced lighting conditions i.e. no bright light sources or reflective surfaces nearby.
The side way 'L' shape of the disturbance seems to be continuous throughout images, which would usually suggest an issue with the actual camera, however the camera is fine on Kitkat.
**Edit**
I have also attached an image taken of a dark surface to highlight the issue.
i have shots with 4.4.4 and 5.0.2,
auto mode in lolipop sucks.
and 20 fps in camera, this is joke ;x

At lease you don't have 'ghosting' in your images
You issues seems to be with the actual camera issues (noise etc) sony left us with, as opposed to an actual bug.

How to fix that??
Hello. I have the same issue with you as well after updated the software to Lollipop. Are you still on Kit Kat or Lollipop has solved the issue?
