I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post this topic.
After a few searches, I have come up with a few links on XDA For the stock Sony Ericsson Rom for my SP
The reason i'm looking for this, is that I am going to root my phone, but everything i've seen required another rom/firmware to be flashed onto the drive. So as a fail safe, I want to rest in piece that I have a OEM Rom which I can restore back too incase it goes balls up
Could anyone direct me to reputable releases for this ROM?
Look in Xperia SP Android development section. There are shared many .ftf Files.

Im wondering; is there not a place where we can find all the files? Diffrent OS versions etc? Like Samsungupdates.com

You can make your own with pc companion and flashtool. Then you can be certain you have the right Rom. Some of us have faced issues with using Ron's with different customization versions.
Also, there's a couple of 1 click root tools now available that don't require tinkering with kernels.

Hey,
Looking into flashing some custom roms onto my xperia z however I was wondering what I lose as soon as the rooting / flashing begins?
I remember when this phone out there were problems with flashing where you lost the brava engine and also the drm services. This still the case?
Also can you return things to stock with 100% of everything working again?
Cheers

You will not lose anything just from rooting.
You will however lose your drm keys and Bravia engine if you unlock your bootloader.
There's loads of info regarding this so search and read.
Lastly post in the correct forum

not possible
C6603 ?
I think it would be possible, if you ask me, but you would have to execute all the commands from your phone, by hand.
Very risky though. If you make a mistake you could brick your phone and have to reflash using a pc.
Not recommended!!
Also you would need some knowledge about how android works, before you try anything.
Just use a pc. That's a lot safer and way easier

Actually you need a PC anyway, actual rooting method implies downgrading the kernel, rooting, and upgrading the kernel. You need a PC to down/upgrade the kernel.
Well, you're right, in the case of newest firmware. Older firmware doesn't an need old kernel, so it would be possible.
But for .67 firmware, yes you really need a pc.
Didn't consider that since I'm on unlocked bootloader, so don't need difficult rooting processes

Well, you need a PC to unlock the bootloader and flash rooted kernels, and actually the last two firmwares need kernel downgrading on locked bootloaders, .244 and .67. Sorry i'm just beeing picky
Ask me how do it.If it will easy for me I do it.
Sent from my C6602 using xda app-developers app
Well he only wants root, so unlocked bootloader isn't the subject here, neither are the rooted kernels.
I thought 244 was rootable without kernel flash, but i believe you in that..

I rooted the phone and replaced the stock recovery a while ago. I keep getting these damn notifications to upgrade, I know it doesn work with a modified recover. It's beginning to annoy me.
What would be the easiest way to upgrade the HTC one?

Install stock recovery or install prerooted stock ROM or install custom ROM.

Where can I find the prerooted stock roms?
I'm not quite ready for a custom ROM. I've been following the progress of a couple though. It always seems like there is never a final version to custom ROMS and usually a couple useful features are sometimes missing.

Same forum you find the custom ROMS in.
And even with stock ROMs there's never a final version, hence you wanting to update the device. Read, learn, get your feet wet.
Otherwise, just reflash stock recovery and let it update when there's an update.

Thanks, I've been to the deep end and back. Been lurking since thread one. You see I've been around a long time and don't post very often. I browsed through all 9 pages of the htc One android development threads but didn't find it. I did a couple of searches and didn't find it, I posted in the questions hoping to get links for reference and well because that what it is there for.
Edit: I looked again and found it. Thanks again for your help.

Hey guys,
I just bought an unlocked S3 that was on the AT&T network. It is running 4.1.1. I tried looking for updates but it says I'm currently on the latest available firmware (which isn't true obviously). So my question is, can I somehow update it manually? By downloading the firmware file and flashing it myself perhaps? Did a couple of searches but couldn't find anything related to this specifically.
Would really appreciate the help.
Thanks!
If I were you, I won't go to 4.3 because of knok bootloader.. Just stay on 4.1JB of go for custom 4.4.2kitkat .
But if u don't plan to root your phone then go on. Because Knok will record/count when you break the warranty policy by rooting.and that can't be reset and undo.
Search for S3 LTE android 4.3 manual upgrade on google.

1. Root your phone.
2. Install/purchase mobileodin pro.
3. Download 4.3 firmware from sammobile.
4. Install firmware using mobileodin pro and keep root or not.

Gotcha, thanks for the heads up. My S3 is well out of warranty, so would this still have a negative impact on me if it records the number of times I break the warranty policy?

Thanks, this is helpful. I'll check sammobile.
Also I saw another couple of steps that looked like it would be possible to do straight from the recovery menu instead of through a 3rd party software like mobileodin. Would these steps work?
1) Download the Stock OTA Update 4.3 I747UCUEMJB from here:
2) Copy it to your external SD card.
3) Reboot recovery, then navigate down and choose "install update from SD card".
Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power button. Use volume keys to select and Power or Home key to select the option. Then just wait until it completely finishes flashing.

My bad, this is the i747.
Well if you not in the warranty then it's fine..
BTW, stock Rom is on the .tar.md5 format then u can't use the recovery to install it. You need Odin to flash it.
Mobile Odin is expensive. Why don't you just download free PC version of Odin that compatible with your device and flash it.

Oh got it.
Yes I would much rather use the free PC Odin than Mobile Odin.
Basically all I have to do is look for the stock 4.3 rom for the i747, then flash through Odin. Right?
Sam mobile does not have the 4.3 AT&T rom. I guess I'll have to look somewhere else.
Personally i would and have purchased the mobileodin pro. Never needed a pc in my years of using samsung phones. From flashing official firmwares to kernels recoveries and all. Its worth the price. Trust me. Everything can be done without a pc near u. Download firmware on ur phone. Flash it from ur phone. Just think of it as a payment for your electric bills. A small portion of it. and its not only limited to s3 but many models of the samsung phones aswell.
Found a link for you bro.

Awesome thanks so much for the link!
Unfortunately I'm on 4.1.1 and not 4.1.2. Will this be a big problem? Do I need to first get to 4.1.2 and then go to 4.3 or can I just directly flash to 4.3?
I would consider mobileodin pro, but I'm doing this for my girlfriends phone that I just bought, and I doubt I will ever need it again. I'm not going to be flashing her phone any more. So free would be useful Especially seeing as how it should have updated OTA on it's own anyway and has not. Which is frustrating. I'm still on 4.1.1 on top of that. Oh well.
Should have no issues as everything will be flashed including bootloader.

You can use Flashtool to download and flash your country's firmware. No root required.
See: How to package and flash stock roms in FTF format.
I noticed you're from India. I already packaged a stock 10.5.1.A.0.283 generic Indian FTF for the C6602 that you can use here.

If you go to the guide that I linked you to in my earlier post, it tells you how to do everything step by step with images.
Download the stock rom I linked, then follow part 1 and part 3 of the guide. I cannot explain it any better than the guide I already created.
