You can use Flashtool to download and flash your country's firmware. No root required.
See: How to package and flash stock roms in FTF format.
I noticed you're from India. I already packaged a stock 10.5.1.A.0.283 generic Indian FTF for the C6602 that you can use here.

Brother I already use android 4.4.4...
But can u tell me the step wise as I am new to xperia earlier I was using micromax.. So please can you guide me step wise
Sent from my C6602 using XDA Free mobile app

If you go to the guide that I linked you to in my earlier post, it tells you how to do everything step by step with images.
Download the stock rom I linked, then follow part 1 and part 3 of the guide. I cannot explain it any better than the guide I already created.

[Solved] system.img for xperia v

Is it possible to make a system image of the xperia v jb firmware for flashing in bootloader? I tried flashing via flashtool but the phone cannot stay in flash mode. I also tried flashing kernel then installing zip in recovery but i'll just boot into a image with an exclamation mark with a phone beside it. I'm currently on cm10.1 but i really want to go back to stock sony jb. If it is not possible to make img then is there any other way to put stock back into the phone?
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Really? No one knows?

I am wondering why your phone wouldn't stay in flash mode.
Anyway, try to install using Supersport ROM.
Just to make sure: do you actually see an image which shows a triangle with a spanner and screwdriver in it? If so, then you might have to wait for a couple of hours for it to go away. I left it overnight and my battery monitoring widget shows that my V was down for a couple of hours, before booting up and going to the home screen.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
You have to make a .ftf file and flash it.

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Thanks, I'll try when in have time to risk the phone. Anyway its not the sign youre talking about. Mines just an exclamation mark beside a phone. Fyi if it might help I was trying to flash the stock ftf when flash tool on mac crashed. I suspect a corruption in some partition used by the stock ROM as I can use any custom ROM but not stock based ROMs. Any ideas?

Ahh, no
But it will download the latest FW for you and then you can create a FTF file using the instructions from the all in one thread, then flash that.
If you have issues with flashmode then you mus wait for flashtool to tell you to go into flashmode first.
Also, you can flash a stock based rom from the dev section to go back to stock.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Ok, thanks I'll try the flash tool thing. And flashing stock roms is the thing that doesnt work, as I've said in the op

Yes, but it should work..can you try it again and if it fails can you post the log output from flashtool so we can see the error.
Also, which FTF file are you trying to flash, please provide the link.
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
Flashing the boot works, flashing the ROM in recovery works, but booting doesn't. It'll boot to the Sony boot screen with the 'Sony' word on it, then it'll go into the screen with an image of a phone and an exclamation mark. Then it'll reboot and do the same thing and so on. And the ftf is the stock jb ftf from the dev forum
Sent from my Xperia V using xda app-developers app
OK, which stock ftf are you flashing? Please provide the link. I want to know this because I find any ftf files in the dev section for the V.
Also, please post the output from flashtool when you flash the stock ftf.

So i tried again and flashtool aborted the flashing apparently, as seen in the log attached.
Change the name of the file to LT25i_9.1.A.0.490_Singapore.ftf
Re: [Q] system.img for xperia v
It will really make a difference? OK I'll try again

Not sure, but it could do.
Also, try redownloading the file.
I tried, and it really worked! Thank you so much! Now I am back on stock sony jb.

Glad it worked for you.
If you ever feel the need to say thanks to someone, just hit their thanks button, there is no need to write a post just saying thanks.
Thats what I did, but I still felt the need to write a post about it

Root without pc!!?? HELP

.I want root my XZ with any app (without pc). Please help.
not possible
C6603 ?
I think it would be possible, if you ask me, but you would have to execute all the commands from your phone, by hand.
Very risky though. If you make a mistake you could brick your phone and have to reflash using a pc.
Not recommended!!
Also you would need some knowledge about how android works, before you try anything.
Just use a pc. That's a lot safer and way easier

Actually you need a PC anyway, actual rooting method implies downgrading the kernel, rooting, and upgrading the kernel. You need a PC to down/upgrade the kernel.
Well, you're right, in the case of newest firmware. Older firmware doesn't an need old kernel, so it would be possible.
But for .67 firmware, yes you really need a pc.
Didn't consider that since I'm on unlocked bootloader, so don't need difficult rooting processes

Well, you need a PC to unlock the bootloader and flash rooted kernels, and actually the last two firmwares need kernel downgrading on locked bootloaders, .244 and .67. Sorry i'm just beeing picky
Ask me how do it.If it will easy for me I do it.
Sent from my C6602 using xda app-developers app
Well he only wants root, so unlocked bootloader isn't the subject here, neither are the rooted kernels.
I thought 244 was rootable without kernel flash, but i believe you in that..

Stock Rom For C5303?

I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post this topic.
After a few searches, I have come up with a few links on XDA For the stock Sony Ericsson Rom for my SP
The reason i'm looking for this, is that I am going to root my phone, but everything i've seen required another rom/firmware to be flashed onto the drive. So as a fail safe, I want to rest in piece that I have a OEM Rom which I can restore back too incase it goes balls up
Could anyone direct me to reputable releases for this ROM?
Look in Xperia SP Android development section. There are shared many .ftf Files.

Im wondering; is there not a place where we can find all the files? Diffrent OS versions etc? Like Samsungupdates.com

You can make your own with pc companion and flashtool. Then you can be certain you have the right Rom. Some of us have faced issues with using Ron's with different customization versions.
Also, there's a couple of 1 click root tools now available that don't require tinkering with kernels.

Connect your phone to your pc and check out Sony PC Companion if your C5302 has any updates.
According to PTCRB:
http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=23022
Your latest firmware is [12.1.A.1.192]. However, it could be the case that it is not released yet.
Perhaps the latest firmware released for your phone is [12.1.A.0.266]
Wooooooouuu!!! Thanks, exelwnt information

[Q] [Q-C6602] Requesting help for downgrading and rooting

Hello fellow XDA members.
I have been reading and searching thoroughly the forums for the past weeks and I haven't been able to find a stock ftf file for Z(C6602).
I am trying to downgrade to 4.2.2(.67) for rooting purposes and to backup the TA, then to unlock the bootloader. I bought the phone during autumn last year, from Sony USA as an unlocked phone. I currently am running kitkat(10.5.A.0.230). Also, I am currently living in Romania and using Vodafone as a carrier.
I'm in need of a stock ftf file running 4.2.2 , right for my region. I couldn't find one that suits my needs. If anyone could find one and point me at it, that would be great.
Thanks in advance
You can use any 67 FTF that's for the C6602. It doesn't have to be one specifically for your region/carrier.
Edit - Here's a US 67 rom.
C6602_10.3.1.A.2.67_1271-0119_R9B.zip - 774.37 MB
