Hello fellow XDA members.
I have been reading and searching thoroughly the forums for the past weeks and I haven't been able to find a stock ftf file for Z(C6602).
I am trying to downgrade to 4.2.2(.67) for rooting purposes and to backup the TA, then to unlock the bootloader. I bought the phone during autumn last year, from Sony USA as an unlocked phone. I currently am running kitkat(10.5.A.0.230). Also, I am currently living in Romania and using Vodafone as a carrier.
I'm in need of a stock ftf file running 4.2.2 , right for my region. I couldn't find one that suits my needs. If anyone could find one and point me at it, that would be great.
Thanks in advance
You can use any 67 FTF that's for the C6602. It doesn't have to be one specifically for your region/carrier.
Edit - Here's a US 67 rom.

.I want root my XZ with any app (without pc). Please help.
not possible
C6603 ?
I think it would be possible, if you ask me, but you would have to execute all the commands from your phone, by hand.
Very risky though. If you make a mistake you could brick your phone and have to reflash using a pc.
Not recommended!!
Also you would need some knowledge about how android works, before you try anything.
Just use a pc. That's a lot safer and way easier

Actually you need a PC anyway, actual rooting method implies downgrading the kernel, rooting, and upgrading the kernel. You need a PC to down/upgrade the kernel.
Well, you're right, in the case of newest firmware. Older firmware doesn't an need old kernel, so it would be possible.
But for .67 firmware, yes you really need a pc.
Didn't consider that since I'm on unlocked bootloader, so don't need difficult rooting processes

Well, you need a PC to unlock the bootloader and flash rooted kernels, and actually the last two firmwares need kernel downgrading on locked bootloaders, .244 and .67. Sorry i'm just beeing picky
Ask me how do it.If it will easy for me I do it.

Well he only wants root, so unlocked bootloader isn't the subject here, neither are the rooted kernels.
I thought 244 was rootable without kernel flash, but i believe you in that..

Hi xdaorxan,
Your question has been moved from the General section to the Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section. Please post in the correct sub-forums in future.

I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post this topic.
After a few searches, I have come up with a few links on XDA For the stock Sony Ericsson Rom for my SP
The reason i'm looking for this, is that I am going to root my phone, but everything i've seen required another rom/firmware to be flashed onto the drive. So as a fail safe, I want to rest in piece that I have a OEM Rom which I can restore back too incase it goes balls up
Could anyone direct me to reputable releases for this ROM?
Look in Xperia SP Android development section. There are shared many .ftf Files.

Im wondering; is there not a place where we can find all the files? Diffrent OS versions etc? Like Samsungupdates.com

You can make your own with pc companion and flashtool. Then you can be certain you have the right Rom. Some of us have faced issues with using Ron's with different customization versions.
Also, there's a couple of 1 click root tools now available that don't require tinkering with kernels.

Hi there... does anyone have the c5306 customization numbers or knows if the c5603 ones work with the c5606?
I have read/search through the forum but i havent been able to find the answer to my 2 questions.
I stumped into this post and hence my 2nd question.
All i want to do is flash the 12.0.A.2.254 kernel on my SP via the build.prop + Companion method, so if anyone has a better way or suggestion i'll be happy to read it, thx
(already rooted my SP)
Oh cmon guys, anyone? Or perhaps an advice in how to get my phone updated if there's no firmware updates available in my country?

So, turns out c5603 firmware DOES work with the c5606, LTE working and all, I haven't seen anything wrong (besides the obvious wrong model showing on the phone info) so far.
Flashed the Deutschland LTE ftf via flashtool.

Hi!!! I just bought my C5306, but I already saw that everything is just made for C5302 and C5303. So the question above is because of that, as 3 and 6 are LTE models (obviously differs on basebands). There is room for a brick (soft or hard)??? I'm asking because I want to flash, root and install a lot of stuff and that is an obstacle.
I clarify: If it is a matter just of basebands I don't worry to lose 4g because I never use this.
I don't know but this thread might answer some questions.

[Q] Does the resources work on C5306?

Its just basebands, c5303 includes basebands of both 2 and 3 but with lte. So nothing happens really.
Happy flashing

So I don't have to worry about any brick if i flash a .ftf file for C5303???

Can it be possible without rooting my device then please let me know friends.

You can use Flashtool to download and flash your country's firmware. No root required.
See: How to package and flash stock roms in FTF format.
I noticed you're from India. I already packaged a stock 10.5.1.A.0.283 generic Indian FTF for the C6602 that you can use here.

Brother I already use android 4.4.4...
But can u tell me the step wise as I am new to xperia earlier I was using micromax.. So please can you guide me step wise

If you go to the guide that I linked you to in my earlier post, it tells you how to do everything step by step with images.
Download the stock rom I linked, then follow part 1 and part 3 of the guide. I cannot explain it any better than the guide I already created.
