Hi guys & some girls..
I have been playing around with my phone..
Backed up TA but forgot to backup org kernel.
And have DooMkernel.v02 now..
But i was hoping to get Carbon to work..
When i restart to recovery mode and try to install zip
it first said "Status 7"...
But it is the correct one so i edited the script and reziped and
this time it went on some time then just Aborted.. Nothing more..
Anyone know what that could be?
Now im a little bit stuck with no camera and no wanted rom..

no you don't.
But you do need a locked bootloader.
You don't need to boot the phone for flashtool either...

After restoring TA bootloader gets relocked, since you're using a custom kernel phone wont boot up, flash a stock "ftf" kernel or flash a whole new firmware using flashtool or Sony Update Service.
gregbradley: I had a wrong kernel when i locked the bootloader and led was just blinking red..
Dident work with PC companion tryed flashmode and fastboot.. just the same red led..
But flashtool worked with a whole new firmware then
root that, restore TA and it was just like new..
So now i know how to and that it really works..
Trying to get Carbon working now then..
Tnx for help..

Dear All....
I've trying to upgrade my Sony Xperia X8 to android 4.0 with "cm-9.0.0-V02-X8-KANG".
After upgraded reboot, system will get stuck after "Sony Ericsson" welcome screen texts...
I've trying to press the Back button when the Sony Ericsson logo during bootup and doing the recovery, but, I just can't get into ClockworkMod Recovery mode.
Is there anyone who can advise how to make the phone work normal???
Many thanks~~~

maybe you flash wrong kerne dude!
maybe you can try this :
flash downgrade ftf..like x8 generic and you got your phone on 2.1
then root, unlock bootloader..
ow yeah, you can install recovery from Flash tool..
next
flash ics kernel, backup
factory reset, flash ROM
Thanks for your quick reply...
how can I root, unlock bootloader install recovery from Flash tool factory reset, flash ROM... etc.. since now I can't get into ClockworkMod Recovery mode when I press the Back button before Sony Ericsson logo during boot up????
Before you flash into ics, what rom you're using?
maybe you can flash it first .
Or
Like I say..flash the x8 generic..so you downgrade your phone
After that you can to root etc

Hi...
I've read your link, but.. I still can't understand how to copy files into "system/bin and system/xbin" since I can't get into "ClockworkMod Recovery" when I boot up the phone, pls help step by step if is possible... thanks~~~
Have you succeeded in unlocking you're bootloader.. if yes..
you can try flashing the kernel again..
I would recommend iscreemdx with alfs kernel..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672477
If you haven't unlocked you're bootloader then flash back the stock rom using .Ftf file of our x8/w8 stock rom here
http://sony-w8.blogspot.com/2012/05/release200412-flashable-file-for-w8e16i.html?m=1
Hit tanx if it helps..
By the walking Walkman..
okay...
if you're still confuse, downgrade your phone!
its last option
downgrade into 2.1 - download this file from files crop X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf
root your phone by flash tool..
then install xrecovery by clicking cross icon on flashtool
OR
download this file (password=cintaindonesia) and extract in your SDcard
after that copy paste three files(busybox, chargemon, xrecovery.tar) in system\bin
and you will get xrecovery
after that
unlock bootloader using flashtool OR s1tool
Flash the latest ICS kernel
backup
factory reset, wipe data, etc
Flash ROM
done!

Hello guys!
I recently tried to update my rom to my xperia x8 and i chose ICS minicm9 - shakira 3-0-4 for xperia x8. I unlocked my bootloader succesful and i installed the nAa kernel version 2.6.29.6 to my phone (i forgot to say i ve already rooted it and did a backup file with xrecovery).
Anyways the phone stuck at the sony ericsson screen after the kernel screen and never opened... I opened CWM , made a backup , wiped the data and tried to install the ICS but every time i tried (3-4 times) i got an error : "Can't open /sdcard/MiniCM9-3.0.4-shakira.zip (bad) Installation aborted". I tried to do my xrecovery backup but CWM couldn't find any backup files! I tried to connect phone with PC companion in flash mode but it recognises it as an xperia x10 and i can't do anything with it!!! I tried everything pls help me!!!:crying:

first of all.... cwm will never find the backup made by xrecovery because they are in different folders... for cwm to find them take the backup folder from xrecovery folder to the clockworkmod folder...
and then
reflash the kernel and try installation again to remove that stuck at SE logo problem.....
you need to install """"nAa ICS"""" kernel for miniCM9.... i think you installed nAa GB kernel and that is what creating problems..
try installing rom after that if it shows error there is some problem with the zip file i suppose... tell me if it gives error after this and see if it gives status 6 or status 7 error..
anyway you will have to redownload the zip..something might have went wrong during download.
and the flashtool recognizes it as x10 because you set it that way...reinstall it...
when it asks you do you want to "permanenty identify device?" i think you selected x10... next time it asks you select X8
Here's my opinion. I'm not sure how but if what you say is true, that you're running nAa ics kernel, it shouldn't be stuck at the SE logo. 2nd, if you're on a custom kernel, you won't have xrecovery. Third, our phones, after flashing kernels are recognized as X10's, not X8's.
@CnC-ROCK xrecovery backups can't be restored that way. i tried and failed
@OP if you've successfully installed nAa-ICS then you should not see the SE logo. try reflashing and wiping cache partition.
Well nothing worked! I have the proper kernel for my device and everything but i can't install the ICS and i did what you said me about the restore but it told me something about MD5 (doesn't match i think or something)
Reflash stock kernel. Then flash the ROM again. And finally flash your kernel back.
Please Press The Thanks Button
It's my matter how I send this.
Please stop telling me to reflash again! I told you i did it many times and nothing worked! Please tell me how i can change to the basic kernel and then i ll do the process again from the begin , as nothing works! Thank you!
Download flashtool and stock firmware then flash firmware through flashtool

He actually said don't tell him to reflash custom kernel. And to be honest if he's seeing anything with Sony on boot then he definitely isn't flashing right.
OP how exactly did you flash the ICS kernel?

If you can't do this, you have to flash (stock kernel and stock rom)

I used to have the same issue last week and I finally succeed respecting the step by step from Androxyde.
One Advice : Try to redownload the FTF fiel or try another one (from another country).
I personnaly had succeess using the FTF from UK (and I am from another country) and no issue at all.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

Go to c:\flashtool\firmwares\ and delete "prepared" folder. - That's only firmware files prepared every time for flashing.
Restart your PC and open flashtool (right click and open it as administrator.
Make sure you have at least 1Gb of free space on your disk where's flashtool is located.
