Screen "raise" over the body - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good fay everyone!
I use my One over 2 month.
Withing 2 month phone did not fall. Uses in case.
And some time ago I noticed that Screen "raise" over the body in top left corner.
When I buy phone, the screen was in the same level with the body.
When I push in screen in left top corner, screen is put in place.
Is there warranty case?

Any suggestions?

It was probably always like that and you didn't notice. After 2 months you could pay to get it replaced.
I would recommend saving that money though and go purchase English lessons. Thanks.

You can always try to get a replacement from the place you got it, can't hurt to check it, right?
This might help you: http://dl4.htc.com/Web_materials/Manual/Warranty/Android/0525_C_WarrantyEULA_76x126_E-EU.pdf
Seems like you need some proof of purchase, but I haven't read through the whole thing

Hi alex6600,
I had exactly the same problem as you describe so all I done was the contact Vodafone ( supplier and carrier) who sent me a postage repair pack. I used this pack to send my HTC one to the repair centre and within a week I was sent a new phone and the note included stated it would cost to much and take to long to fix my old phone.
Cheers

I had this problem . I sent it in and it came back below the body instead, and the frame was slightly bent around the sim tray . Waiting for replacement as it has camera issues also .

Too bad, i dont have a pro camera right now. and also hard to capture by camera.
and i believe those p880 with this issue will be more dust after certain usage.
just 1 week, there are 2 medium dot under screen. from my exp last times, about 1-2 month, there lots of dust and big 1.
really make me so sad. what a product with this stupid issue!
i have the same issue too but its really slight. the dust are hardly seen under normal usage and only when the screen is off and im looking for it.
not something very irritating but yea, it shouldn't be there. btw my Optimus One had this problem too but it was really a thick dense line of dust from the bottom left corner of the screen.
edit: added photos
i have only one and barely notice it

go straight down to the service centre at Alexandra road if u want fast repair. call email also no use you can't fix it yourself anyway.
Bring along your proof of purchase (receipt) and warranty card.

i know where is it, and send before. i post here that because i believe it will happen again after second service.
previously i emailed, they said sent to their service center.
in the service center i asked, and they said no this quality issue on other p880. what i feel is nonsense, just other people lazy go for it.
And purposely go there for same problem, i am quite unhappy, because wasting my time to go and back.
And they just replace the window glass, i dont think can fix permanently, since this is a common issue for most people, wasnt?
Hello I have the same issue, in my P880 I saw specs of dust two days after of purchase, now 2 months later I have many specs, some are very annoying at sunlight. Sadly in my Country I do not have technical support from LG.

they will replace the window( the front glass) not the screen. however, since this is defective, i requested to replace another phone under the singapore lemon law. but still not yet replay from last friday sent in
Hurry up. Once I have the same problem with my optimus swift, the delay for taking mobile to service center coasted me additional money for replacing screen and glass.

How i' fixed one dust dot.
Hello
Today i noticed white dust point between my screen and glass of phone... and.. i was pissed off!!! because phone is one month old!
Tried to calmdown ... but every time when i looked on the screen i saw nothing but that white dot...
So... i don't take any responsibility for this "tutorial" on damaging your glass or screen or phone...
So... turn off you phone ... using your pointing finger make speed hard taps on dust area with little bit bending of whole phone.
With this method i managed to move dust point from middle of screen to bottom edge of screen... and with more bending and taping on edhe area
dust spot is disappeared. (it took me 2 minutes of tapping)
I konw it sounds crazy but it worked and i'm happy again

You ruined my idea of build nano-vacuum cleaners for that!!!
Isn't this problem partly due to the fact that there's a large gap between the display and touchscreen itself?

I've been contemplating getting this phone for a while now but this puts me right off. My SGS doesn't have this problem as the display and touchscreen are bonded together.
Please, could you explain more accurately ? I really wish to remove these dust and i'm very interested in your method

It's a sad day today for my Nexus...

So today I am just chillin, and pull out my phone from my pocket and I didnt really grip it hard and just falls from my hands... I swear when it dropped it felt that it was falling in slow motion. And out of all the places it could fall, it falls at an angle and then on the screen.
I picked it up and I see the top of the screen has a crack from one side to the other, and another crack on the bottom right corner. And it gets worse, when I turned on the screen the touch doesnt work at all so basically my whole screen is messed up.
Found a website that sells the screen already glued with the frame and a battery so all its missing is the motherboard and internal stuff.
Buttt its $170 so yea gotta wait till next week when I get payed.
I would post pics but dont have 10 posts so yea, it really sucks I've had the phone for about a month and I always protected it. :crying::crying::crying:
Sorry to hear that but I've read that LG will repair your screen for less than that.

hmmm..... But isn't LG already being super slow to produce the device itself, would probably take them a month to do it and I kinda need a phone
Asking them to give you a price and time estimate cannot hurt. Additionally, the limiting step of production is more likely everything that goes on that motherboard, not the touch screen.

Damn man, that sucks. The first time my Nexus was dropped was from my friend being careless... So because of that, I made it so that no one except me can use my phone. I hated my friend for doing that because it was the first hour I had my phone...
But for the screen fix, try to see if you can find a lower price. Doesn't hurt to continue searching the web.

LG will not give you a quote. They will only say, "We cannot give you a quote without you sending it in. Please send the phone in to us, with you being responsible for shipping, and then once we've had a chance to look at it, we will let you know the cost of the repair."
Even after I pushed saying how about the front lcd and digitizer, they still wouldn't give me an estimate.
Sam Thing happened to me.. just 1 crack but half the touchscreen doesnt work.. i've seen plenty of ppl with cracked iphones whose touch still works.. called lg and they told me the same thing. Don't know if its worth wasting money on shipping just to find out they charge more for repair.. kind of a risk. Did you ever end up getting it fixed?
So was it worth not having a case?

In US is something like $140...in UK I will let you know on Friday when I receive the quote
That really sucks... Something about these new phones, in particular the ones with the new touch sensor in glass or whatever they call it. The touch response is gone on a crack. I recall my first Droid had two cracks across the entire face and it worked flawlessly... I think I'd rather have that 1mm gap in the display/glass then have to replace it due to a simple crack.

Ouch that really does suck
Hope you get it fixed pretty soon
knock on wood, i hope i don't drop it, i have butter fingers too, i did let it slip once but i had the usb cable in it still and it only fell like 2 foot on soft wooden floor, if you drop it from your pocket( 4ft >) and it hits hard floor like cement, its a goner i think!

Got my back glass warrantied!

So I called Google within 5 minutes of my back glass cracking. It spiderwebbed all over the back side. I was literally holding it when it cracked, the phone had not been dropped. They already sent me a replacement which I will receive tomorrow, they did a hold on my credit card until my bad one comes back. I was surprised I got a replacement so quick. But it appears they are covering the back side of the phones!
Haha good luck getting a release on the funds when they get the cracked phone back.....

Yes it cracked in my hand. You can tell it wasn't dropped since glass isn't smashed. I told them. If they don't reverse the charge, Amex will be on my side. I told them exactly what was wrong with it and they gave me the RMA, so sounds like to me they are covering it. Appears to be from a temp change to the glass.

Screen scratched easily

I got my One just last Tuesday. I have been keeping it safe all the time but today while I was sunbathing I fell asleep for just 2 seconds and phone slipped out of my hand and fell from about 15-20cm on pebbles. I was hoping that screen will be fine but I have noticed a small square with about 4 tiny scratches right next to each other. They are very light but noticeable. It looks like I have a piece of dust on it but it's a scratch
Since I got the phone last Tuesday, do you think I'll be able to get a replacement?
It's ridiculous that screens from 2013 still scratch dead easily, I've dropped my One X numerous times and screen is in perfect condition looking brand new. Same with Desire HD...
Could it be possibly faulty?
BTW: It didn't fall directly on pebbles, it slid from a sunbathing chair and fell on pebbles so it really fell from only about 5-10cm. I am gutted
Pebbles/stones/sand contain quartz, a pretty darned hard mineral. Gorilla Glass is rated a 5-6H hardness, while quartz is 7H. It will scratch your screen every time.
Ah, I might give T-Mobile a call and see if I can get it replaced.

I'll just try my luck to see because they have 2 weeks return warranty or something like that. I'll show them the scratch and see if they can actually do anything about it. If not then I'll have to live with it.

No need to be harsh, I have been having several issues with it anyway including 3 or 4 dead pixels with which I was fine. I agree that it was my fault but since the device hasn't been in a perfect condition anyway it's better if it goes.
Thankfully they have this 14 days warranty which covers accidental damage as well so I should be getting a new handset later this week or early next week.
If you're still under the 14 day return just return it. Then buy a screen protector

Mine scratched after 2 days which was my fault however when I got mine the tmobile worker was very reckless with mine and she messed up the SIM ejector and sold me a refurbished one, so when I went for the exchange I was told about the 50 dollar restock fee but didn't have to pay (maybe because of the way the worker handled my first device) oh and proof she messed up the SIM ejector was he couldn't get my SIM card out for me! Lol so he activated the one in the box

Good stuff I have already ordered a new case and screen protector so I am prepared when the new one comes later this week. I gave them a ring again and guy from T-Mobile was extremely nice and he told me that I am paying £5 a month for for insurance anyway which I didn't even know since I get first 3 months free but because it happened between those 14 days he would have replaced it anyway.
I've been in touch with HTC and they said that every retailer has to take your old handset back within 28 days even if it's not faulty which is a good thing to know as T-Mobile said they only have 14 days.
So far my second one is good, every here and there I hear a crackle in speaker for brief moment and top front plate is a little separated but just very very slightly but it's better than that horizontal scratch I made which was deep and the jacked up SIM ejector refurbished one I had before

Cracked screen!

Yea I dropped my HTC one in my garage today and didn't notice it right away but I now have a nice hairline crack from the HTC logo to the top right corner. It's not unusable but I was wondering can the screen be replaced easily? I watched a few YT vids that show a complete tear down and I'm hoping that it's not that complicated. Can it be done?? 4th smartphone in 6 years and never experienced a cracked screen before.
Still reviewing my options as I may just spring for an m8, but I'm under contract at at&t.

Its quite hard to disassemble and reassemble the M7 whitout damaging something. Might be a better idea to get it repaired from htc or by a qualified repair shop.
btw if you purchased your M7 after Feb 18, you can have your screen replaced free by htc (6 months warranty)

Not the answer I was looking for but good to know.
I'm wondering if I can sell it. Like I said it's barely noticeable and I can't even feel it, I'm using swype input in tapatalk right now. It could of been A LOT worse. Curious if I could get maybe 200 out of it.

I'm almost sure you could get around 200 on ebay. Just try to sell it with a reserve price of 200 and see what happen.
