I can't be the only one...I hope - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK..since my first note I always loves the stock browser for the auto fit webpage option! I never like chrome because it does the weird thing with text. Some will be tiny other large. Well note 3 browser doesn't have the auto fit webpage option but has the weird text option!!!!! I hope I'm overlooking it somewhere. If not is there a browser that supports this option? Pics included for better understanding. These are from note 2.

To be honest I don't even bother with the stock browser. Chrome has all my bookmarks and settings and syncs so well. Try it for a bit. I have a feeling that the stock browser is slowly just becoming a skinned chrome browser though. I need to look into that a bit more though.

I don't use the stock browser, but I took a look at the settings and found these.
I'm guessing text booster is what's making your text all wonky.
And force zoom probably has something to do with autofit.
Also, double tap on any page in every smartphone browser I've ever used auto fits the page. I'd five that a try.

I saw those settings. Force zoom just let's you zoom if a website doesn't let you. And the text booster IS the reason for wonky text! Even double tapping the screen doesn't auto fit the pages! If you notice the pic I have zoomed way in (and that zoom is a double tap zoom) and it auto fit. New phone no dice. I tried chrome but it automatically does the wonky text thing which makes 0 sense to me. Ah well it must be forever gone!

Drawing straight lines/inaccurate touch screen.

Has anybody figured out a way to draw straight lines on their galaxy tab easily?
I understand inaccurate touch screens are quite common on android, especially compared to apple products.
If a fix was possible, I guess it would have to be embedded in firmware or the os. Any thoughts?

Get a stylus and a ruler? I sure can't draw a straight line on my ipad with my fingers
swyped from a galaxy far far away
Maybe I should try it ;-)
All the lines I draw in drawing programs on my tab come out sort of wobbly. I tried using a demo ipad 2 earlier and the results were much more pleasing.
I suspect some smoothing could be applied to make the whole situation much more sane without losing any significant information.

I've got Sketch Book too. Seems to be the only real choice on Android.
The problem I have is with trying to draw a line slowly and even more so diagonally, which as I wrote before, I don't see on the ipad.
The smoother lines were drawn more quickly.
You can try touch screen booster sgs, play with that and see if it helps, I think the problem is it may be to sensitive

Thanks for the tip. I google for quite a while touch screen settings but nother turned up of use.
I can confirm this.
And personally I dont think there is a fix.

No dice Runs but doesn't make any difference.
Well remember the tab has a higher dpi than the ipad, I think its hard because your finger isn't going perfectly straight, see if a stylus would help and if it does you know its your finger

Tried a stylus before and out was even worse.
I'm using overcome, I'll check with altbridge if it honors ts.conf and see off the tunables there help.

Install Air Push Detector. That should help you identify it.

I don't know why It does that. I've found if you save the picture you can see it clearly.

Thanks, I downloaded it and the other one he recommends. I get this ad a few times a day so I should be able to pinpoint the app by tonight or in the morning.
If you have a music download app that is the culprit

The app was Retro TD, both airpush and addons detector found it

The only music apps I use are rhapsody (for a year and a half) and Google music (since I got a beta invite months back) , and neither have given me any trouble. The rhapsody app is actually much better than their PC client.
Weird
I can see screenshots fine on the desktop, but when i use the xda app on my phone, they're always blurry, who knows. Sorry to derail.

No problem, the issue was resolved anyway. I don't know why that is, but I have the same problem viewing pics that were posted using the app when I'm browsing on my PC, phone, or tablet. BTW, I used photobucket to post that pic.

Calender app

Weird issue. I have always used the stock Google calendar app, on my nexus 10, my old GS4, even my GS-II. The stock Google app on the One, however, won't display the text of my events, just a color bar. On my other devices, it displays the text, even on phones. I've resorted to Business Calendar as a workaround, but does anyone know the Google calendar app behaves this way on the One?

Tried a couple themes, and that doesn't seem to change anything. Not a huge deal, but just thought it was odd and was curious if anyone else noticed this behavior.

I've personally been using today calendar and it's pretty cool because you can change the action bar behavior so that it changes the colour of the status bar

Chrome bug...I think

Something I have noticed today-when I load a page in chrome on my nexus 6, along the right edge there are images that are almost like a mirror image to whatever is on the screen-but it's not clickable or scrollable... Its really weird-has anyone seen this? Just look to the right-where the scroll bar is...you will see it

exact same thing happens with me, i dont know if this is caused by the google updated chrome,
but i thought it was because of my Glass Screen Protector... i have the exact same issue and it can get annoying :/
i am on Chroma's Final LP based Rom , also wish to know what is causing this.
Strange...I am stock, rooted...I just hid the navigation bar and I am using LMT. Checked my wife's nexus 4-also running the latest chrome version-nothing-she doesn't have this issue.
Anyone else noticing this? Any idea what causes it and how to get rid of it?
I have tested Firefox and I can report that there the issue is not present. It is a chrome bug then...I am not sure what exactly causes it

Same thing happening to me too.. Check Opera browser and it doesn't happen there... So far its only chrome.
Also I have the same thing happening at the bottom of the screen too.
It's very obvious on the attached screenshot.
Yep i checked as well, on Youtube App it doesnt appear and tried Mozilla doesnt happen either.
it only happens on my favourite browser which i only use and that is Chrome >A> i hope they fix it soon.
I have submitted feedback to Google through chrome-hopefully they read them...
I don't remember having this issue on Lollipop...tried Chrome beta-still had the same issue...
I can confirm that with the Chrome Beta 47 the issue is now fixed-no more mirror images...give it a try
whew, glad to learn of a fix - the additional lines can be kinda distracting!

Images in text messages ?

Not sure , never had this issue before. I receive some kind of low quality images with some of my text messages. Can anyone advice what it is please and how to turn off? Thanks.

It basically shows a preview of any internet url, not sure about webpages that don't have photos. The preview kind of sucks as it's limited but somewhat gives you an idea. That way you don't have to click on the url to figure out what it is if it's not familar to you.
One example, one of my lil brothers used to send me youtube links that were gorey, etc. He knows I don't like viewing them. Now he can't trick me anymore.
Or if you happen to receive spam texts or texts from parties unknown you can get an idea of what the link is instead of having to visit a url that might be harmful. I don't know, I've never received spam texts or from people I don't know but just a thought.
I can see how it can be annoying to some but at least we have the option & can turn it off as desired. To add, the stock Gallery has a new feature I've never seen before (maybe the S8 had it, I don't know). If you take a screenshot of a website it'll include the url so you can visit tge page again in the future. I have it turned on but have not tried it yet.
