I was using an Unrooted OPTIMUS 4X HD from which I've now migrated to Nexus 4 because my phone was giving problems with the display. The backup which I had saved is in the form of .sbf using the default LG Backup & Restore App.
I'm unable to figure how to transfer my contacts which are stored in the backup to my new phone. Suprisingly there's nothing much online as well. Most restore apps use .vcf format for contacts but not this particular one. Is there any way I can get hold of the preloaded app that comes with LG 4x HD? Or is there another way to get them back?
I'm in a kind of a Major Jam as I'm supposed to call someone back for a Job.
Please Please Please do help.

backup NEVER to pc something that you can back it up on a cloud. this is something apple tought me while using iphone 4s. its better to use for contacts for example the contact importer.
anyway. no there is nothing u can do. this file format u got there its not just contacts , but a whole restore to the point u created this restore. ony if someone very very EXTREMELY nice guy using stock rom, wants to help you by restoring his phone to your backup, extracting the contacts and restoring back to his own backup. then just send you the contacts.

If you have P880, try this:

Your Smarfon [MyPhoneExplorer Client] <--- USB, BT, WiFi, IrDA ---> Your PC [MyPhoneExplorer]

Fingers crossed

Extracting Contacts from .sbf file created on Optimus G
So I recently had a Optimus G and for some reason Google did not sync all the contacts that I had on my phone. Anyways I had made a backup using the LG backup software and it created a .sbf backup file. I now have a Samsung S4 and need to extract the contacts from the .sbf file. Can someone please help me out with that.
Thanks.

I got Optimus 2X SU660 ( Korean version ). When I try to optimize it, I deleted system file.
Now
- it still can boot but I can't restore.
- I restore using nvflash ( of P990 ) but can't touch anywhere, only volume and power button worked.
- I installed CWM but don't have .zip firmware file.
- Now I have .kdz and bin firmware. I try some method of other LG phone but unsuccessfully.
Please help me! Tks in advance!
did you use the su660 FW?

Hi. I live in South Korea and had the exact same problem as you with the SU660. I even had a backup made of my original rom which when restored using CWM would be stuck in a bootloop. I ended up taking my phone to the LG service center and they restored my phone to factory default settings. Perhaps you can do that at a LG service center in Vietnam. The only other solution I can think of for you is to continue using the ROM you have and install a program like zmooth or button savior to simulate your home, menu, and search buttons via the touchscreen.
If anyone has any idea how to flash a .bin or .fls version of O2X firmware onto the phone, I would love to know too! Thanks!

Thank you very much! I used zmooth for 2days ( work well ) after try soft menu ( same my Nook Color ) but failed.
I also will try to contact LG Vietnam.
Now, I try some method for kdz file because there are some guide relate it from GT540 or P500. If I can do, I will show you.
Newest idea I will try: edit function key. Maybe the main difference between SU660 vs P990 are hardkey vs softkey and layout.
Could you share your firmware backup? Maybe I made some lucky.
And could you share me your files in /system/usr/keylayout ?
Tks!
Check your PM
Thank you! I will try and report back.

I know how to restore your phone to life. I think that if you have .bin firmware method is same that in LGP990. Use LGDP2_V42, your model.dll and .bin firmware. Also read my topic (Here we go again) in optimus2x forum.

I'm trying to do!
Update: I don't have SU660 .dll file and tool on slide 17, 18. So I can't try it properly. This method maybe the best solution for now.
Now I restored V10Q - newest version. But still something to do

No! I used LGMobile Update Tool after install full driver. This tool automatic download newest firmware, flash to phone but phone still boot loop. I copy all of extracted files ( during Update Tool flash phone ) to another folder and use nvflash to restore.
Is your phone fully functional now? I hope so!
Hi Zanr Zij
I've got myself into exact situation as yours and I also used the LG Support tool to upgrade my SU660 to V10Q but the phone just show the "LG" screen then black out.
If you managed to get the phone up and running, please share some information. I'm kinda desperate here >.<
Thanks and best regards.
Just an idea I don't know much about this but I was wounding if we could flash to that euro 21b the one that's rootable and keep the baseband and radio settings and all that stuff from 20c?
If anyone's willing to try this or let me know how it could be done if it can be done.
Maybie we could have GB with root and with out the ghost calls and lost SMS.
Sent from my LG-P925g using XDA App
Does the Euro 21B not have a baseband in it?
If it does, then it will wipe it.
Ya I'm pretty sure it does have its own baseband we probly can't rip the BB out of it can we?

Unfortunately, there is not really a method for our phones.
The only way would have been for us to copy it off our phone's partition. However, we don't have root.
Sent from my LG Thrill 4G
On Optimus p970 Russian friends were unpacking bin roms and rooting/installing CWM them.
I asked them to try the method on our O3D V20b,as I had only the 20b in bin format.
Like we can't take the BB out of 21b then just flash the software verson with out a BB just a crazy idea I'm having
Is it b or a thats rootable wicherver one is I think its a

Well the newest GB release, Rogers, seems to have the best battery backup.
However, we can't root it.
The LG .kdz files are also encrypted with LG proprietary software and we can't extract it until we know the codes do decrypt it.
Ya that makes sense
Sent from my LG-P925g using XDA App
Yeah LG really got stupid with these phones by totally breaking away from android standards. The kdz files, fact that img files are uboot multi images... they really tried hard to close down an open source format and not just with proprietary formats. I will never get another LG phone I know that much.
It really makes me mad.
Anyways, I just have to say that the Rogers V10C_00 baseband is better than AT&T's baseband.

ya this was my first android so i had no idea and it was free on a contract so it was no brainer should have paid a 150 bucks more for a different phone but i didnt have the cash for it o well i like this phone anyhow
Might have to try that BB out from v10c, is there a fls for that or just kdz? Also the phone itself is very nice, only real complaint is the battery and lack of updates/support. It's a solid phone with great hardware but LG/ATT is really slacking. They just need to learn that you cant just make a phone like this and neglect it because from what I have seen a lot of people became anti LG because of this phone.
i tryed this but it just gives me a cannot find file or service if we could get these files it would help?

Can one of you on Rogers try this link and please post the link it gives you back I had some one else try and it gave a bad link back. Copy the link and paste in browser then put your imei after the = .please someone see if we can get a bin for this then we can use the .fls from it to flash gb rooted thanks
so i found a lg kdz decrypt program called R&D test tools and i ran v20 though it and i got a v20c.wdb and a lgp920.dll does this help any?
cant find any lg software that will extract the wdb guess this is why we need root well been a good learning experiance
the wdb is the encrypted file.
ah ic well that sucks at least i learned some thing
Been messing with the wdb file for a few hours now... I officially dislike LG even more now...
Ya I can't find any way to decrypt it or edit it

Didn't you take a backup of your original firmware with CWM before trying the ICS firmwares?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127849
This is the one i used, worked great.
Thanks guys! I did take a backup but somehow it got deleted..
I did create a backup file with CWM but after recovering (completed) from this file the phone keeps rebooting and it doesn't go further than the LG logo.
Don't post questions in the general section.
Thread moved to Q&A
Hi all,
Does anyone have a backup of a plain normal and just goy after kdzing update backup for cwm? I did mine back in the day but it is corrupted. And it hapens now that I have to return to stock from CM10 each time I need tethering and I don't really like to use kdz method (I did before, but I just don't like it )
Thanks in advance!

But flashing a kdz would be the easiest way for you ^^
Just try this new method someone posted on the general sections with lg pc suite, its easy and comfortable...

Just asking

You DIDN'T search at all. Searching involves looking through the forums and opening your eyes. Don't be so lazy - everything you need is already documentet many, many times.
XDA is not a helpdesk for noobs - so stop acting like one and put some effort in.
