Hi guys, i have tried various types of ICS firmwares but in the end i couldn't really be happy because they have all at least one problem..
That's why i want to recover the old firmware the phone came with. Is it possible? If it is i would really appreciate it!

Didn't you take a backup of your original firmware with CWM before trying the ICS firmwares?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1127849
This is the one i used, worked great.
Thanks guys! I did take a backup but somehow it got deleted..
I did create a backup file with CWM but after recovering (completed) from this file the phone keeps rebooting and it doesn't go further than the LG logo.

Morning, this is not possible yet as Paul over at modaco is yet to release CWM recovery so not ROM flashing is possible. He said it would be released in Beta form.today at sometime so wait and see what that brings to the table.... in the meantime head over to the 2x section at Modaco to keep up with the progress!

Hi, thanks for reply
Its a little bit strange it, because for example in other android device, like Galaxy S, you dont need a clockwork recovery to flash the stock original firmware, you need it only for to flash a cooked... you need only to put in download mode and after you can flash a stock firmware without clockwork recovery
Anyway again thanks for reply
Hi all,

ICS Repack Problems
Hi all,
I managed to flash ICS Repack by Chainfire on my galaxy note today. It is pretty cool and really fast. But I've few questions to ask regarding this new ROM. Please be kind enough to direct me to a appropriate thread if these questions are already been asked and solved.
After I flash ICS Repack, I cannot find CWM anymore. What happened to it ? and how I can get it back ?
How I can go back to my old GB rooted ROM (I've CW backup of that rooted LB2 GB ROM) ?
By now, this ICS version cannot render South Asian languages. but LB2 rendered it very well. Are there any option to get that language support on this ICS ?
I need to change this Keyboard (Chinese) to English. Any other method to change it (Instead of installing GO Keyboard) ?
In our county phone numbers have two formats (our numbers are start with "0" but receiving calls don't have that starting "0" ). But in this ICS ROM, those 2 numbers are Identifying as two different numbers. Any method to fix that issue ?
Can I get my CPU speed to 1.4GHz again ?
Please be kind enough to help me on these matters.
Thank You.
This is why users should study BEFORE they flash. Anyways. Flash CWM, boot it, resrore backup. Cant help you much. Just got my Note happy studying

Stick with GB for now...people working with ICS around here like to make you jump through hoops just to get your phone to work...so if you're not will to spend the time on it, then stick with GB...no fuss, no muss.
The answer to 3. is a very simple 'yes, you can always go back'.
Also, massive thanks for updating your OP with the answers you have found. If only all question-askers did this.

If you'd read a little before flashing your phone, you'd have known that you can't ever revert to stock ROM if you haven't done a backup previously..
JK.. But RTFT!

You should read the whole wiki.
There are instructions for flashing with ODIN... You should download a stock firmware (also look at wiki) and then flash it.
Nex time, don't install something if you don't know what it does
Why you want to delete cm9 ? Personally i use it from he was pre-alpha (aproximatively 5 months ago) and my phone isn't broken and it's running normaly and better than in gb. Now in cm9 aren't big bugs and it can be use as daily rom. Finally it's your choice . If you want to go back to the original firmware use wiki page it's very usefull. Good luck :good:
Hello Everyone
I have read quite a bit about flashing but have not tried it yet. I know that the phone can be soft bricked if there is some problem and can be subsequently recovered as well. I also read about something known as nand corruption and I guess that too is recoverable as well.
What I wanted to know was can this phone be permanently bricked and if yes in what cases can it be possible?
I searched google with the same question and found that there can be emmc chip failure but that affects the S2 and Galaxy Note and that too particularly the ICS roms only.
So I wanted to know what is the status of this phone as far as bricking permanently is concerned.
Regards
till what i have experienced so far that it can only be permanently bricked by throwing it on wall
P.s. till now i have flashed thousands of times...
Thanks! These kind of replies are motivating to start experimenting and trying some roms!

i would advice you to read the developer instruction carefully and in any doubt check with experience users/read comment in thread and then only flash anything...
I have expierence with sgs+, sgsII, sg5 (gt-i5500), htc one s & lg optimus x2.. the sgsII didnt worked anymore cuz a friend try'd to flash it but had no knowledge about what he is doing but then i ressurected it and now it works.. i think it is not possible to brick a phone (but i am only sure at samsung smartphones) if you do a mistake there are still ways to ressurect it if you did something wrong.

I was planning to use instructions from the website androidadvices for flashing. It has indepth tutorials. For ex-
http://androidadvices.com/update-galaxy-gt-i9000-stable-jellybean-411-firmware/#.UEe0FSK6Dsk
The tutorial for almost all roms seems to be same!
1.) Update your phone to xxjw4 through odin.
2.) Root your phone.
3.) Apply update via recovery mode.
And if you have to update another rom repeat the procedure above!
But reading few threads on XDA the information here seem very complicated for some roms! :-?

yes... few users are complaining about loosing imei and not able to connect to network... so best practice says always flash JB over ICS and ICS over GB... always flash JB over ICS....
If you need more info or links head to remics-jb thread in development section.
Its a nice rom and i am using since a long time..and you will see again me over there also.
Some Samsung phones can be bricked by flashing. The SGS is not one of them though - it's safe.
Search 'brick bug' or check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693704 for more info on which models can be bricked and how.

You meant always flash JB over gingerbread?
So that basic tutorial would suffice to flash roms?
Sure I would have a look at the remics-jb thread. Its time to do some more research now!

if you flash another phone's rom like i9100 s2 it will be bricked..Hard brick
But this is only happening if i9100 rom file has a pit file
Long story short flash an i9100 rom that has ext4.pit file, phone won't be alive... No download mode no recovery no charging animation...JTAG will be required.

Hi all,
I am really ashamed to post it here but no one was helping me in QA threads.
My problem is, I have lost my phone's touch after rooting and installing cwm with AIO toolkit.
Now smartflashed ICS kdz but nothing happened.
Flashed many custom roms also, no luck.
So please help me.

So try different bootloader and rom for it also with custom kernel. If software changes doesn't help it could be hardware problem so you should take it to repair service it may require digitizer replacement
As you say you flashed many roms so one of them atleast i believe it had custom kernel
in my opinion you should go to repair service before you make it worse

This phone is really unbrickable via sw. I happened the same blackout but found the solution searching on xda forum.
When smartflash or cwm do not have good end you must nvflash a new rom (loosing your internal sd data).
Go to Homero2 xda site and download the nvflash rooted 20s rom. After doing it you'll have your 2x working with that GB rom.
Then you can do many things:smartflash an original LG rom or download a custom rom new or old bl, change the bl with AIOT etc... and use cwm for new installation or for restoring backup.

Dear, thnx for your support, my real issue is No Touchscreen after rooting and flashing original as well as custom firmwares. Even aroma installer's touch wasn't working. the phone is in repairing shop and let's see if replacing digitizer fixes it. :/ By the way, when I flashed v20 rom which was NVFLASH packaged, the phone failed to start and suddenly went to black out as soon as LG logo appeared.
