Been considering this after all the positive hype this phone is getting however I'm very iffy on the size. I had the note 2 for a while and even though I got used to it, it was certainly still big. Just wondering if it's worth its price off contact over the resale value of my moto x on swappa ($500ish)
Thanks in advanced
Rob

I came from a Moto x as a replacement for my lost Note 2... there's a def a difference in size, but coming from a note 2 it was sorta like a welcome home feeling.

Im thinking about revisiting the Note 3 again, getting tired of the 3-3.5hrs screen time of the moto x and the Nexus 5 I dont believe will be much better due to it's small battery. Still feel the same about the decision over the moto x?

Rob was on the same boat as you man, Took me about 2 days to get adjusted to the size difference I was coming from a HTC one, but had a note 2 at one point for about 2 months before that. Love the display, and really loving the phone. Had the G2 for about 3 weeks, Scrossler is doing great work over there, rid of carrier IQ, plus they were able to bypass the bootloader only thing i miss

the size of the note is the only thing that kills me. Its great when i take advantage of it, but its a beats to lug around when im on the move. Will take more than two days to decide if the size is good for me.

Never had much loyalty to any brand. Whatever is the best, or one of the best phones in two years will be my upgrade.
I know it won't be a Samsung though. Unless they do a 180 in regards to phone build quality.

T-Mobile and Nexus probably, although I wouldn't mind holding onto my One to use it as a voice/text (+bad 3G) phone.

But if they sold out, then my next phone will certainly be an HTC One Max
Nexus or moto or Oppo. Samsung's phones have gotten so flimsy looking and feeling.
Sony's phones are laggy as hell. I've never really trusted LG, but I have no reason for that, so that would be my fourth choice.
Nexus or Moto as well for me. Might go that way even if HTC doesn't sell out.

Honestly, even with the features on the Moto X, the HTC One is the better phone. If I had my upgrade today instead of two months ago, I would still go with the One. Just my opinion though. Go to a store and try out the Moto X. See which one you like more!

My wifi speeds are slower on my One than my S2. It's probably the metal but I don't think the iPhone has this problem. My speed test shows that I have 16 Mbps but the pages load as if I am getting 1 Mbps. Weird. Hopefully this is addressed in the 4.3 update if it's fixable

I don't know why people were calling this a software issue. I think the software issue they were talking about fixing was the blur.

I switched from the moto from the One today. I switched because of the purple camera issue. 4.3 didn't fix it. I have to say I like it a lot more.
720p screen isn't bad at all, can't really tell. Its thinner than it seems in pictures. Runs really smooth. Cam is alright but havent taken any outdoor pics, just indoor so it may look better outside. The touchless controls and notifications aren't gimmicky, you'll use and like them. Moto assist is pretty good. The only thing I miss is the speakers in front.

Don't know why you would do this without trying to fix your ONE first... It's obviously a hardware issue, not software. You can do all those things on the ONE so technically it is a gimmick. You basically just downgraded.

No, actually. Active notifications alone are a god damned good reason to never go back to my One. It's life changing. Touch less controls are fantastic. AOSP + those two things, boot loader unlockable, rom interchangeability with all carrier, equally if not more smooth experience than the one plus better battery life, higher resolution camera, and the phone is repairable. My one will stay in my backpack as a backup phone, thanks.

AT&T locked the bootloader in our 4.4.2 update. No root currently possible. I was considering the Flex to begin with. I want your honest opinion on if the two devices are on Parr
The note 3 has a higher density display and an external sdcard. The flex might be the sexiest looking phone on the market. It's fast. Really no downside to the flex. If some cool Roms start dropping soon we will be in business for sure.

Coming from note 3 to g flex and have no complaints. My biggest worries were lack of s pen, lower screen resolution, lack of removable memory and removable battery. I never used the s pen when I had the note and don't miss it at all. Screen resolution is no issue, if i didn't know the notes ppi was higher I would've never guessed it. 32 gigs of internal memory is plenty for me, if at some point I need more or there are files I'd rather not have taking up my internal storage there's always usb otg. And lastly I can make it through a full day with heavy usage and still have juice to spare so a swappable battery is irrelevant. I still have my note 3 but I wouldn't switch back if you paid me. It'll be on swappa in the near future.

The only thing I can see that you'll miss is the screen size.. and maybe the stylus.. otherwise everything else beats the note 3. I did notice that even with a gig of less ram, this phone still out performs the note 3. Oh and the sound is worth the switch alone.

Agreed 100% The stylus was great for a while but like all Samsung gimmicks, they just get in the way after a while.
And I know not everyone likes it, but BlinkFeed is a feature I use every day.

I made the transition from the Note 3 to this phone. The Note 3 ran pretty much flawlessly for me and I had no real complaints about it. It's just that I'm kind of phone obsessed and really wanted this phone.
This phone definitely has a way sexier build and feels like a quality device compared to the Note 3. I also feel that the camera is better on this phone than the Note 3. The difference in screen size is noticeable but this screen is not exactly small so you will get used to it after a little while.
Overall, if you are a phone fanatic who needs the latest and greatest I don't think you'll regret getting the M8. It's a sleek and sexy phone that takes better pics than the Note 3
One of the features I love on my Note is being able to assign a Notification Tone to a contact. Is this possible on the M8?
