longpress power-button (few seconds)
or
press volume up + home + power to check if stock-recovery-mode is available.
third possibility: battery is dead

no. it does not
I have charged it for more than 4 hours and still it does not turn on.
I called T-mobile and they are telling me since it was bought in Dec I have to call Samsung. I called Samsung and they are open Monday through Friday 9am-5pm.
I have insurance on it and I asked T-mobile what am I paying insurance for and they told me only if its broken or has water damage can it be replaced under the insurance.
So I will take it to the TMO store today to see if there is something they can do....

I went to TMO store and they got me some help. i spoke to a TMO person who will contact Samsung and taker care of it for me. they are scheduled to call me tomorrow. since it is still under warranty and i have not opened it they will try to help. just a note i don't know if this is relevant, it gets warm when it charging and then cold when the battery is dead. right now i have it sitting until it drains.
i am waiting to hear from Samsung. lets hope they have good news.
I will keep you posted.
I had a similar thing happen to me last week as well. I went to sleep, and then didn't want to turn on anymore. I had it plugged into the computer and after about 30 minutes, it turned on.
Yeah... it's mine too and I solved by press the Power button while another finger touching on Screen just about 1~2 min and it wakes up. I don't know what is the reason while the TAB doesn't turn on.
FYI
Thanks for all of the helpful suggestions. Tab is on its way to texas to the samsung repair center. I will not see it again for over a week. So sad
tab you will be missed. I hope you return with some treats :i

Sorry For Grammar or Anything Wrong
I had the same situation,
I thought my hardware was damaged. But I plugged the phone and waited a few minutes then clicked power button and battery indicator came.
Let it charge a few minutes (7-10) then go to power button, it should open.

I don't like it either. But next time I won't consume it so much
hello everybody,
yesterday, when my phone was on the desk, it started to reboot.
it goes to the logo and then reboots again. I've tried booting into recovery mode and it's not having it (and I'm sure I'm doing it correctly). I can boot into Download mode, but only for a few seconds (about five) then it reboots again.
it sounds like the power button stuck down infact I can hold the home button and volume down and it'll boot into Download mode!
but I don't think the actual button is stuck, though. It still clicks.
i try to leave phone without battery for about one hour:no changes
So i decide to buy a new battery to exclude it from the list of possible faults, and the new battery work like the old one.
So i open the phone and clean it with crc spray to avoid oxidation problem (the phone was never in contact with water).
No changes.
So i test the power button and it seems work (i say seems because i'm not sure about how its working) i resolder it and no changes.
finaly i leave the phone without battery in the nigth (about six hours) and no changes.
during my internet research i found another guy that have same problem and he solves it leaving the phone without battery for 3 days(I can't post link...i'm noob)
I'm not sure what to do. There's no logical explanation for this to happen. It's been working fine up until now.

today i solved the problem at 99,99%.
i remove the power button and on his place i solder two pieces of wire. with them i'm able to power on my phone , enter in download mode, flash it and root it ...
it is a little bit annoying to use in this way so i ordered a button and i'm attend the delivery.

Leave it on the charger for 30 min to an hour. It should come back eventually. It's just that the battery is EXTREMELY low. I had this on my Xperia S.

Yup.. I hv tried all the above...and also tried connecting to laptop thru USB cable.. but absolutely nothing happening.. it's dead as a Brick
What did you do before
Nothing actually.. went to bed in the night and kept the phone aside.. morning it was off thought battery empty and kept for charging. But even after an hour I noticed it wasnt charging and I cudnt turn it on either..
maybe open back cover and see What happened?
replace battery or What?
or replace Screen?
have you done any system updates or opened auto update?
There was an ott update that day which got auto updated..
Mostly is that OTA hard bricked your device. Your device ran out of battery while installing it.
The mobile had enough battery and the update got fully installed over wifi. After that I hv used the phone too. In the night I went to sleep keeping the phone aside and morning this happened.
Maybe Another OTA came and bricked your device.
My Y9 Prime had recieved 2 updates in a row so I can confirm it is possible.
if that is the case I cannot help you but if it is battery bug(like Note 8 battery drained overnight and battery failed)you can try reconnect the battery or replace it but I am a noob of doing that
Do you have spare phones?
What happens when plugged to computer?
Ohh. 2 OTA updates....
No sound or anything Wen plugged to comp. It's still dead.. tried all combination.
then mostly 2ota bug or battery bug
if screen bug you will hear vibration
Ohh ok.. any solution for this...???
