how to overclock and change ram setting? - LG Optimus 2x

I am using Kowalski Kernel, I saw it can OC up to 1.2 GHz on stable releases and up to 1.5 GHz on experimentals.
But I open Kowalski manager and could not find where to change the setting?
Besides, I would like to change setting, add some zram, and also lower the threshold ram that close app.
Please kindly suggest app to do above change, thanks

If you are using CM 10.1 by TonyP... these changes can be done in Settings-> Performance.
There you can over clock, change zram and enable tonyp memory management or advanced memory management for more free ram.
In latest CM 10.2 builds over clocking is done via included app Kernel Control. Rest settings of Zram and memory management is done via Settings-> Performance.
For other ROMs install Trickster or CPU adjuster or ROM toolbox.

I see you are already being helped by Jishnu bhai... So, I don't think I can help you better. It's his ROM after all.
You could try ROM toolbox lite from Play Store, swipe to 'Performance' screen.
Select 'Kernel Tweaks' there.
swipe to 'Sysctl Tweaks' screen.
here change the value of VM.min_free_bytes
reduce it to 2500 kbs
next setting is VM.min_free_order_shift, increase that to four.
you can play around with other settings also here, there is a description for each setting.
N like I said earlier, Jishnu will guide you better.

- Recharging with phone off fixed. (mikos cyanogen based roms have a feature to: if the phone is off, when you plug the charger, it will power on the phone. The normal behaviour is to boot a system only to recharge phone. But mik has disabled it. SO, if you use devoid.#final this recharge while offline will work. if you use cyanogen, will not work.)

Remember:
This kernel is ONLY for LG Stock ROM 2.2, Void.#forever, devoid, miks 6.5.x, CyanogenMMatt 1.1...
WIPE DALVIK, BATTERY AND CACHE!
DONT FLASH 2 DIFFERENT ZIPS AT THE SAME TIME!
MAKE A REBOOT BEFORE EACH FLASH
If you are using AmonRa, disable signature before flashing.
NOT underclock below 480MHz. At lower speeds, wakeups-from-idle per second are bigger than 480MHz and they share the same voltage, so thats leads to more battery drain.
It's recomended to use: MIN 480 / MAX YOUR CHOICE

You can use! That keyboard option removed was an legacy linux hack thing to restart the computer via keyboard. (sysrq magic key)
About zram, it is enabled in the kernel, if you have flashed it in any version of franco.Kernel it will work here.
How?
Its simple, when you flash zram it will modify one part of your system, and kernel another. So you only need to reflash zram in case of wipe all data.

I'll give you info about this kernel. fserve fetched my sources, changed the .config file to add/delete some functionalities just like he stated in the first post and he came here and shared it with everyone, and I'm glad he did because I'm definitely going to look up on his configuration changes. Other than that it's still my kernel. That's all the info I can give to you.
New version released. (IT'S ON THE FIRST PAGE)
V8 was compiled with -Os (to make a small kernel)
V12 was compiled with -O2 (to make a faster kernel)
V12 got cleaned up ethernet 10/100 drivers, some scsi drivers, some loggers, some debuggers, some useless stuff. for now, only bfs version.
Stop the offtopic here, please

[TWEAKS] Save your battery without any app!

Hi guys!
I've been trying different kernel and roms at this time, I've been surprised with several of them greatly, but I've always liked my way of setting the cpu frequencies, governor, further reduce the brightness ... etc all WITHOUT USING ANY EXTERNAL APP that consume my internal memory and are constantly running in the background.
Well if you are one of those who leave permanently on your cpu frequency and like to save as much of your battery it will be very useful.
When I tested the Battery Extender 1.5.1 kernel I noticed that every time I restarted my device, the maximum clock frequency was changed to 902 Mhz and I needed tools to control this frequency (as no-frills or set-cpu)... Right, this is the end with the following tweaks, so forget No-Frills and Set-cpu!:
These changes will be adjusted every time you boot the system
Viper The Ripper Tweaks to save battery
What I have changed?
Power off menu and back buttons
Reduced the brightness to maximum
Changed the frequency when the device starts to 245-787 Mhz
Changed the Governor when the device starts to Conservative (I prefer this Governor to save battery)
Working on: CF-Root, BatteryExtender, SpaceKernel, nims11 kernel
Extreme Version
Power off menu and back buttons
Reduced the brightness to maximum
Changed the frequency when the device starts to 245-614 Mhz
Changed the Governor when the device starts to Conservative (I prefer this Governor to save battery)
Working on: BatteryExtender 1.5.1 and up, it should works in SpaceKernel too
CM Versions
Power off menu and back buttons
How to install it?
1. Put the attached file into your sdcard
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Install from sdcard
4. Flash it
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy
Hellyeah!

I'm sure, in my opinion using no-frills or similar apps (sertCpu), you increase the RAM usage with background processes, so your battery will drain faster, anyway you don't need any app to set your cpu frequencies

But currently you can use the Terminal Emulator to get it just type this lines:

chmod 444 /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightne
When you reboot your device the button will power on again so type it after rebooting your phone, but I'll provide you a permanent solution asap

[Q] NoFrills and SetCPU not working correctly on roms

Hi there, noticed an issue with NoFrills and SetCpu not working correctly on any Rom I have installed, I am using latest Prometheus kernel for sense,(767).The issue is that I set max to 650 or 678 and the minimum to 320, The max value is fine, but the minimum value
always changes to 480 after a reboot. Also the governors revert back to default setting.
This is the same for various cm10 based roms I have tried, with latest Nope kernel. Any ideas what is wrong here. Thanks .

After the reboot, this always happen...so just select the option "SET ON BOOT" in setCPU, or system settings or any other app...
What this does is that it restores the device cpu back to the mode which you had set!!!
Enjoy and press thanks!
Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention in my first post that I already had those 'set at boot ' options enabled. Could it be permissions? They look right, according to other apps permissions that is.

Wi-Fi doesn't work with a clean flash which was a deal breaker for me. Changing kernel eliminates most of the kernel features the OP have listed in the original post. Also, Reboot is acting like Power Off. I'm sorry but I can't suggest this ROM as it is kinda broken/untested.

I already tried testing this rom and after testing itself ill post in the section. Im really sorry for this problem my samsung vibrant device is completely dead now im unable to test the rom again if you face the wifi issue means please do this step and check "copy system/lib/modules from anyother 4.2.2 rom and replace with my rom and that will fix" After done this test and inform me everything will normal or not?

I just flash Iyahmankernel inorder to avoid the keyboard problem. If you flash that kernel means all problems like keyboar and Wifi works well.
