Thats normal that your battery drains much much faster on Android 4+.
You said that it's even draining when your screen is off? Then I guess your device can't go into deep sleep mode. Check it out

Yes, it's normal... as more ram is used the battery drains faster, even if use sycn, 3g, a huge brugthness level etc
Well next time use Q&A Thread!

[Q] LockScreen Replacement

Hi!
I'm not a big fan of the stock LG lockscreen, as many others i've seen.
I have tried GOTO Lockscreen, it's nice and all, but there are some bugs that I experience on the O2x. I've looked at Widgetlocker, but some of the comments in marked is saying it's a battery drainer and I do NOT need more drainage on the O2x
Do any of you have a functional lockscreen recommendation ?

If you take a look in the battery thread, you'll see I'd rather not.. until the drainage I experience on my O2x is fixed ..:-/ (Have not tried Fr8 and Fr10 yet, but my hands is itching ........)
I use my phone quite a lot in my work, and I need the batt. time I get from stock 10b.
Give it some time, the system needs couple of days to "get to know" the battery, it should improve after some time
As far as someone once said here...
Edit: if you insist on keeping the phone stock, install widget locker

Download Autokiller (put it in agressive mode) and download juicy defender
These 2 programs are great getting the battery to last more than a day without a problem!

Hate LG lockscreen too. I would like to change for android stock lockscreen but dont wanna use any custom roms.
What is called lg lockscreen apk ? Can i somehow change it for stock android lockscreen ? My phone is rooted.
Check out Paul's post "Stock Patch Pack - AOSP style lockscreen" on Modaco.

and btw much more speed and the Custom ROM is faster I think (feels mor smooth than stock).
50mA with stock ROM? Forget it. I have stock ROM and drain is from 1mA to 10mA.

Jellybean is a little bit unstable and still Alpha, but damn, the battery life is really good. at the end of a day my phone is still at about 30 - 50%. Very good.
But for the best battery life of all, use a gingerbread based rom.

It makes the phone use all pins of a usb cable connector for power only, so that it gives more juice at the cost of no data connection through the usb cable.
On topic, my experience is also that slim plus semaphore gives best battery life but experiences may vary.

1)For flashing a new kernel you need to be rooted.
2)battery drain depends on apps you use and also your screen brightness, bluetooth, gps, data etc
3)try to find out if you are having wakelocks or some fault woth battery
4)try reading about some battery saving tips.
5)get an extended aftermarket battery of need be.
6)have a nice day

Download betterbatterystats from this forum and see if you have a wakelock issue. If you don't then you've got a dud battery, it should perform much better than that.

How dare you? Xda is the king! You've made 5 posts, mate, a forum needs to be used to get the most out of it.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
dude you shouldn't be writing here if you think that. go to your favorite forums.
cuteabuser - dont listen to Bozo The Clown calvincharles. Everything you need to know is on this forum. Use the search button in the Note Forum and search for battery. You should get a bunch of stuff that comes up. Turn off stuff you dont use especially sync stuff. If you are techy enough once you get into it then you can mess with stuff like Tasker. I use Tasker to turn on GPS when I open the apps that use GPS. I set times for my bluetooth to turn on before work and after work etc when I am driving. This is all so I dont have these things running all the time. I learned all this stuff from here.
When I first got my Note it immediately asked for update so I did. It was getting horrible battery life after that and I didnt even use it before the update. I ended up rooting and custom romming this bad boy and turned all kinds of crap I dont use off. Now I get all day unless I have my screen on. Then its only maybe 3 hours of constant on.
Good luck and read read read...its what I did.
Read the stickies on this forum. They should help.

First and foremost, before you try anything, like wipes or formats, I would advise you to download and flashthis kernel based on the current firmware you have. It is a stock safe ICS kernel, because stock Samsung ICS kernels are very much unsafe to wipe or format from. It will give you root however, so if you don't want root, then you can just use the supersu app that gets installed to make a permanent unroot. But atleast you'll be on a safe kernel, and you won't have to worry about any bricks. Then download betterbatterystats as mentioned above and use this thread to determine any wakelocks or battery munchers. If the need be comes that you need to send it to Samsung for any reason, there is another kernel thread in the original development section that gives you all stock ICS kernels you can flash.
And go through the forum, and read all the stickies. They answer all questions.

Xperia V - Huge battery drain (Google Services)

My Xperia V was draining much battery while sleeping, so yesterday I flashed cm-10.1.3-RC2 hoping it could get better.
But it's still draining almost 30% in a period of 8 hours, while I'm sleeping.
I can notice a huge drain caused by Google Services and have already greenified some apps.
It can't be normal, right?! Could someone help me?
Despite this problem, now I have a really better smartphone... So, thank FXP and, please, keep supporting Xperia V.

Not sure if this question belongs to be an own thread...but ok. here we go.
from my experience with Cm i can tell you, if you want better battery life, then you maybe should use a stock firmware!
I used CM and AOKP some weeks before, but the battery drain wasnt normal, not to say horrible.
But this is my experience. You should ask in your CM-Rom Thread, or CM Q/A Thread i think.
I'm a new member and I couldn't ask this in CM thread
I understood what you've said, but even using stock rom I was having that percentage of draining at night...
Do you have a Xperia V?
Could you (or someone else) tell me how much draining is considered normal in the period I've mentioned before?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
30% in 8 hours means that on average your battery will last a day.
That is perfectly normal.
Also, if you keep flashing stuff and installing apps then it drains battery quicker. Leave it alone for a week and see if it settles down.
Sorry, i have a Xperia T.
in the xperia T thread of tilals unofficial CM build (development section) someone mentions also such problems:

Omg, my Galaxy s3 loses only 2% in the same period while sleeping, it's a BIG difference
I had been facing this problem since I bought this phone (2 months ago), that's why I tried to flash CM yesterday... So, I think that nothing will change if I just wait...
Anyway, thank you guys...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
apologies, I didn't see that it was 8 hours while you were asleep. That is not right. But it may be because its working hard after a flash. Please leave it for a while and it should settle, or install better battery stats app (Free on xda) and see whats keeping the phone awake.
Also check what your cpu is set at and the governor, if its on performance it will be maxing out all the time..

Some screenshots.
The graphs show another problem: it is like the phone just know that lost some battery when I turn on the screen.
For example: if I leave the phone with 95%, it pass the hole night "thinking" it has this value, but when I turn on the screen the battery instantly loses around 15%, this "fast drain" stabilizes when it reaches the "real percentage".
Could it be a hardware problem? The battery itself...
Has already someone noticed something similar?

I haven't seen any notable difference in battery life on any 4.3 or 4.4 rom. Surfing the web over wifi and brightness set manually to medium i lost about 12-13% charge in 30 minutes.
Higher battery drain can be a placebo effect too. You installed a new rom and expect at least as good battery life as on stock, let's say. Then on your new rom you keep eye on the battery, waking your phone more often and checking the battery status and stats, thus draining the battery little more overall. I won't tell that's the case right now, it's just one possible reason people see their batteries dying sooner. Now i'm currently on fresh CM 10.1 (build 1117) and will find out if there is any difference in battery life compared to CM 11.
