Hey y'all I have been just using random addresses and made up names to keep putting in new codes, but another user gave me an idea. I could use the names and addresses of XDA members that can't find the specially marked packages yet. I have 5 codes I will be entering tonight, so if you would like to win, leave me your name and address. You can either leave it in this thread or PM me. I will let you know if you won or not. I figure this is a better idea than some random person winning a tablet due to me picking addresses off of Google maps.

You definitely can't win again if you have already won, which is why I keep having to make up info and temp email addresses. The play credit code gets emailed so it's not attached to a particular play store account. I am not sure about the region thing, but I'd be willing to test it out.

Just the regular $5 play credit. BTW a good site to make temp email addresses easily is http://mailinator.com/

Anyone not using dropbox? Ive been using it for a while and just wanted to remind newbs of it. go to https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTYwNzM2ODk and sign up, install the software, and you haev the easiest wireless way to share files back and forth between your phone and your desktop. Great Backup Solution. Help me out by signing up from the link above, and we both get extra space in the dropbox for doing so!
True, I mean when not at home. Its very helpful, especially for sending large things like videos. I have collaboration folders setup with my wife, and brother, and I can just drop the files in there, and then they get them too. Great way to share big stuff.

Dropbox is great but make sure you keep a separate backup. DB literally ate the English Essay I had worked on for days. Here's what happened: I typed up the rough draft on my PC at home. I then went to the writing lab at school and downloaded it to my phone. I plugged my phone into the tutor's PC and we revised it together and printed it out. I submitted it to my professor and a couple days later she e-mailed me saying she wanted me to make some changes. I went back to Dropbox on my PC to open the file and got the rough draft again. Downloaded again, same thing. I went on my phone and found out that it too had the rough draft. Somehow when I uploaded the final draft it did not actually upload so I wound up having to rewrite it again (as best as I could from memory).
Moral of the story: When you make changes to a file, make sure you back it up elsewhere!
You do know that drophox supports versioning right? You can go the website and see the last several save states. So if your more fully written essay was overwritten, so long as it was saved at some point, you can still retrieve it from the website.

Same here. I'm not that shameless myself; mine is cleverly hidden in my sig.
Haha I added it to my Sig too. Just running out of room and hoping to get some more space in a hurry
As a side note, how do I make a url in my Sig clickable?
This thread should be deleted since it's not anything for help with Dropbox but rather a plug to get more space... shame shame OP..

Firstly, I advise against adding a "dropbox" link to your sig ... unless of course, you feel it necessary to have your account suspended.
The purpose of services such as dropbox, rapidshare, megaupload, 4shared, etc. is to provide a space for folks to download/upload content that can be legitimately used on a mobile device. In other words, shameless promotion to bump space or increase points is not appropriate.

One month ago I went to Belgium and my SGS disapeared from my pocket!!!
I had to stop my simcard. I lost every hope to find it again but when I went on the market webpage I saw that my old SGS was still signed in with my Gmail account!!! But now with a different carrier name: PROXIMUS. There are weird apps that i've never installed who are displayed on my google account!!
Maybe there is a method to find my SGS with my google account??
Does anyone have an idea??
Google usually sees the network location !

Did you have any lost phone app installed? If not, make sure you install one on your replacement, phone locator pro is pretty good

There's one on the market that you can install after it's been nicked. If you search where's my droid, then check related apps, you should find it. It's a pay app but I can't remember its name
Try logging in to you google account on market.android.com and find a spy program of some kind and choose to install it, it will be automatically installed on the phone and you might be able to find enough information to track it.
Found it! It's called plan b by lookout. Good luck!
Thank you very much i'm trying those apps now I think it's frightening this guy may use my account!!

/*Just wondering if the mods would agree to a thread where we post links to various contests where when people sign up through your link you get more chances to win. I know those are technically referral links, but with me at least I know the ones I would post would be legit. Signed up on for the D&B shirts, which are pretty sweet.
Couldn't get the first link to work on my tablet. the website redirects me to the fb page but it doesn't have any content. iPad fail. I'll do that one when I get to my work comp tomorrow.
Edit: I was wondering how they knew you referred me haha. Derp. It made me use fb so I can't sign up again. well I can get the first link for you tomorrow.

@Wired. Yea those shirts rock. I'd wear them everywhere, and supposedly they are from good material.
Also to up the stakes, if I win either the lens or the camera bag, I will sell them and donate half the money to XDA. With the lens that would mean $500 . I'm keeping the cameras if I win any of them. lol

how to break pattern lock without hard reset for all android device
which version?
in ICS, there's a security question right?
you also forgot the answer?
If you enter pattern wrong enough times it asks for your gmail and password.
If you can't supply those you've stolen someone's phone.

Bit quick to judge ain't you.. There's a whole list of reasons someone can't enter their Google account details.
Also if it was stolen why would he bother to ask here how to remove the password ?
Think before you lay blame so quickly next time.

I may be.. Are you positive it's not stolen?
We shouldn't be so hasty to show people how to break ANY security on phones..
Maybe you should think of that before divulging some workarounds..
And if it was stolen, here is an obvious place to seek the answer..

so a thief will create a xda account just to unlock the phone?he could easily reset it. all the OP wanted to know was a way without resetting it. why would a thief care about no resetting a phone? every thought about it. think twice before suggesting that someone is thief. we are nobody to judge people as thief so just do what you have to do as a fellow member of XDA....ANSWER THE QUESTION
@OP search on xda for lockscreen bypass. that shall do the work
This generally happens when u restore a CWM Backup & don't remember the old lock code! XD
Even you don't have a Google account configured...

I was bored so I decided to create a Weibo (Chinese alternative to Twitter) account by the name of "苟大变" (note the wordplay: literally it means Gou Big Change but phonetically read, it means dog sh*t). That aside, it took me little more than seconds to register for an account.
I filled in my details, when they asked for the company I came from, I wrote "朝鲜不民主主义不共和国" trans: "The Undemocratic Unrepublic of Korea". I began writing my first troll post, before realising that within a matter of minutes I have won myself 4 followers (fans).
The content of the troll post as follows: "大家好,我来自朝鲜。我的国家很民主,很自由,很开放, 也有很多东西吃。希望你们可以单程来看望我。顺便带一点吃的,okay?" Trans: "Hi everyone, I come from North Korea. My country is very democratic, very free, very open and there's a lot for us to eat. Hope you can visit me on a one way trip. Bring some food in the meantime, okay?"
Next minute: "your account is experiencing difficulties, please complete mobile phone verification to unfreeze your account"

Then underneath it says: "Please use mobile phone services located in mainland China to verify access. We currently do not support mobile phone services from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan or mobiles from overseas."
Googled the reason as to why accounts were frozen, came across the answer that it's either because someone has hacked the account or that the frozen user has posted something 'inappropriate'. For me, it's most likely the latter.
Well there goes my account. Nothing I can do about it, is there?
By the way, I do still plan to use that name later, please don't steal it.
