Hi, I live in Egypt for a while and I bought last month a Mini. Everything was going just fine, I was using Odin many times to try new roms, and CWM Recovery to give a try to custom roms, without problems. Yesterday morning I flashed my device with the 2.3.6 rom that I found on this forum, apparently made for Latin America. Since that moment, my mobile is on boot loop, i can't do anything, I only can access downloading mode, I tried to reflash gingerbread 2.3.4, and2.3.5, it goes well, Odin gives me the PASS message, but still my mobile is forever rebooting at Samsung logo. I can't access recovery.
What to do? Is it bricked and do I have to send it to Samsung Center or is there hope to fix it by myself?
Thank you for any help...

Just remove the battery and stop your phone.
Put the battery in again.
Go to recovery mode by pressing Home + Power button at the same time.
In the reocevey choose wipe data/factory reset option.
Reboot your device after you are done.
You mobile will boot up fine.
Thank you for your answers but I wanna insists on a point: I can't access recovery at all, the phone show me the samsung logo for about half a second then restarts, and is looping in this state. No recovery, only downloading mode and RAMDUMP Mode (ARM9 mode) & Emergency Dload Mode (ARM9 Mode). Nothing else is avalaible.
Helppp

hey man i've already had that problem..coz i flash 2.3.6 and encountered same problem but i manage to fix it.. you need to enter recovery mode... Note: you need to hold the home & power button and wait for the samsung logo to flash TWICE (2X),when the 2nd logo flash, just realease the buttons and your on recovery mode.just wipe/ data reset.. right now im using Ginger bread 2.3.6JKVT and its rooted also.
No, I can't access recovery sorry.
Connect your phone to your laptop.
Use ADB
Type this :
adb shell reboot recovery
That will take you to download mode, then you can flash rom again. It would be easier if you have a CWM installed

If you can't access recovery either falsh CWM recovery or Flash another firmware from Download mode. If you want to flash CWM recovery just follow the link below for Galaxy Mini and search CWM recovery.
I tried many times, since i have this problem, to flash and reflash, official roms, CWR, but nothing works, setup goes fine according to Odin, but still have the problem on my phone, still only downloading mode works, and still a flashing screen, just during the samsung logo.
No one can help me with my mobile???

did you wait for the samsumg logo to flash tiwce while holding the combo key? you see when im installing firmware using odin my laptop turn off coz i dont have a battery i thought my mini was brick because the process was not finish,so what happen i tried to acces recovery mode its only shows a computer icon & phone icon. but i manage to fix the problem i go to download mode and flash again another firmware. and everything goes fine..so how come that you cant access recorvery...i would suggest that you flash a firmware with 4 parts not a single package.
just try this www*mediafire*com/?br3r8fod5g3vud4 flash this firmware with Odin this will surely work please replace * with . brace my post count is not enough to post outside link
As long as you can enter download mode... you are safe. If you can... just flash it back with Odin.
Follow this step

i had a same problem too.
my phone cannot power on, and ONLY download mode only working.
i flashed it for so many time too, and it doesn't seem to fix the problem.
so any fix on this ?
To ybregeon and Tre3,
I had the exact same issue, only Download Mode and RAM Dump, but could not enter recovery mode. Tried flashing many ROMs, oneclick unbrick, Heimdall recovery etc. but still no solutions available, I tried many-many tricks with no luck. So I went to Samsung Service Center, and it turned out that the problem is in the mainboard. It took me one night before Samsung replaced the mainboard from my phone and it's been working well since. All free of charge.
I hope your warranty is still valid. Good luck.

yes i even tried to go into stock recovery but same thing happens
When you flash the mulit-package and you can't go into recovery then I think you phone is damaged. Only what can you try more is using adb to get into recovery:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
At boot loop you mean the Samsung boot animation - or the logo that displays immediately when you try turn on you phone?

i have flashed stock S5830JPKKP9 wich is my baseband But can u provide me link for 2.3.3 kpo
Is S5830JPKKP9 a mulit-package? When yes than it isn't necessary to flash 2.3.3 KP0, doesn't make any difference. You can found 2.3.3 KP0 here https://hotfile.com/dl/127701476/7d30a8b/S5830XWKPO.rar.html but this is an European rom.
The logo when i immediately turn on da phone
I have bad news to you - I think you phone is damaged. Only what you can do is flash a mulit-package. When this doesn't help you must go to the service center. But try before turn on you phone put out the battery for a few minutes.
EDIT
Have posted wrong link, post edited - now it's ok.
Thanks for your effort ill try that... but wat is multipackage? Can i use adb to get into recovery as u said before?
multipackage is an firmware that is split in more files - flashing it make a eraser of all internal memory (have update my previous post whit correct link). You can try adb, but I think you will get "error - no device" because adb works on when the kernel boots - that means it will help when you have a classic boot loop on the boot animation - not on the SAMSUNG logo.
Are u sure that there is no other way to fix this?
Definitely yes.
Pls say cause im taking this to service centre 2morrow
I think the problem is you have overheat you phone - did you play on it when charging the battery? And second I think it isn't good to turn of you phone when he gets hoot - better to let it on and cools slow down.
I found out what really caused this problem so the day before i installed this app called "mobile odin" it asked me root permissons so i allowed it..then it said that the app is not compable with my device and then it asked me to allow it to create a dump file and it said that it could take almost 30 mins to complete and make that app compatible with my device...so i allowed it after 30min it said finished dumping after that i didnt switch off or reboot the phone that day...but i rebooted the phone the other day when it became hot while playing which caused this problem...i am saying this because some other user bricked his/her phone the same way!
I think I lost my phone now the same why -.- damit

While MobileOdin is not compatible with a Galaxy Ace http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899 I'm not sure how it would have bricked your phone when you didn't actually ask it to do anything.
As others have said, considering the inability to enter recovery after flashing a new bootlader & rom etc, a hardware error appears more likely perhaps as a result of overheating.
Too late it had to replace motherboard....

I have this problem before and i managed to use ODIN3 v1.83 (can use Odin3 v3.07) to detect my phone and flash a stock rom onto the device. I followed the advice given on this excellent thread by Supermini.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970
As mentioned on his thread make sure you have the latest stock firmware from the sammobile site or by using Check Fus Downloader as per the guide in Rafael thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551156, a working samsung USB driver to detect your mobile on your PC and a copy of ODIN3 v1.83 (or v1.84, v1.87, v3.07 run ODIN in administrator mode if using in windows). Ultimately if this this fails you could always try a USB jig which can be purchased from ebay, etc. to get the phone into download mode.
Good luck and if this helps make sure you send a thank you to Supermini.

So . . . last thing to rescue your phone is buy on e-bay or in other place JIG if it isn't help you then try in phone service and say you tried install new ROM with Kies and your phone is brick (maybe it'll work).
Say to Service Centre Representatives that you kept your at charging last night
And when you woke up
It was not booting up
Pretend as if you dunno anything about root or ROM
They fixed my bricked phone
I am not sure if I am breaking any forum rule by telling this
Hey bro sorry for the late reply also, please before you do anything else try following my instructions.
1) download Odin v3.07
2) source the stock firmware you want to flash from sammobile.
3) make sure you have the Samsung mobile driver.
4) open and run Odin as administrator and load the single file in the PDA and highlight the tick box.
5) shut the phone down and take out your Sim card.
6) put the mobile into download mode as normal (press both up/down vol keys +power)
7) connect the phone to the PC and check in Odin to make sure its com port is detected.
8) then flash through Odin as normal.
I understand what your saying about no download screen appearing, I have found through experience that custom kernels can cause no download screen to appear. Normally with stock kernel this is not a problem but with custom kernels sometimes all you get is a black screen. Ignore this and just make sure that Odin is detecting the phone and try to flash, chances are it will flash the stock ROM and kernel. If you get the setup connection error in Odin and the fail 0\1 just try another USB port on your PC and keep persevering.
Please keep us updated so we can help you if you need it.

Why will it be hardbricked if the custom roms are based on s5830i stock roms?
But it is probable that we did I not flash the rom properly as per procedure..so is there a chance that it be bricked? Else the rom may have some problem... just telling the probability

HI XDA
I got this sgh-t599 tmobile phone yesterday. (didn't realize it was rooted) messed around/did factory reset without backup.
now im stuck in CWM recovery 6.0.3.6, Ive spent several hours readind and trying to fix this with no luck.
I tried using adb, kies etc. none can detect device. device drivers are installed(tried 'have disk'), it shows Samsung under device manager.
I can device list in adb and shows the numbers and "recovery" but when i try to use commands it says "waiting for device" or something.
from what i read, i need unsecure boot to restore firmware. where can i get this and how do i do it pls.
i have no mount usb option in cwm, when i try to recover/update from cwm it says aborted. in adb im able to reboot the phone with the commands but always reboots to cwm recovery or waiting for device. any help pls. i may have access to another rooted t599 if i am able to backup and recover it to this phone?:crying:
do you think local phone repair shop can fix this back to stock or rooted and for how much?

You must have format system or something. A factory reset wipes cache and data, nothing else. There should be a homebrew odin-file somewhere in these t599 threads.

phone was rooted and had superuser etc on it. I didn't know about rooting, I did factory reset from the main menu which im pretty sure is what caused this. before that I was able to look through its apps where I saw the superuser, terninal and others, once factory reset it rebooted to cwm recovery and stuck there. there was no backup or side sdcard. only realized it was rooted after saw the cwm and stuck
odin doesnt detect phone either, downloaded/installed universal drivers still no go.
main issue is not being to able enable usb debug/download while still in cwm
repair shop says $30, about to run there
i caused my friends sgh-t599 to do that

Hi I have the Samung S III I-9305 to which I have never made any changes to the Android 4.1.2. OS. Also, I have never used an external SD card, so all my data is in internal memory.
All of a sudden, while playing a game the screen froze and I had to pull out the battery of the phone. Next I know, the phone has gone into a boot loop. It would show the Samung logo, show the blue circle around it, then show the word Samsung with a blue background lighting up and then the cycle resumes infinitely.
Since the phone is under warranty, I went to the Samsung Customer Service Centre, they said the software is probably corrupted and reloading the data will wipe out all data. Now I need to maintain my contacts and photos!
After scouring the internet, here is what I tried:
1. Connect the phone to the computer via a USB – the computer fired up Kies but the phone could not connect due to constant rebooting
2. Press Vol Up + Home + Power buttons – I got the Android robot with open body and a 3D polygon rotating, following a short error message (see attached image) and the phone reboots
3. Press Vol Down + Home + Power buttons – I go a normal Warning message about a custom OS…but then I do not know what to do and whether it would erase my data.
Given this situation, is there ANY way that I can recover my data? If so, any steps would be most appreciated. Many Thanks!
If you can not go in recovery mode (picture) , most probably you will lose your data - only photos , because contacts are backed-up with your Google account .
So , next time use an SD card . It is an advantage , not many phones offer anymore , nowadays .
Put it in download mode and install stock firmware with odin. You wont lose any photos or music etc.

Hi Goldie,
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I am so novice that I am not sure of the exact steps to follow out your advice.
Would you be able to guide me to some link which can show me the steps to do this or you can spell out for me? I'd be more than happy to get you 2 beers!

If you can not go in recovery mode (picture) , most probably you will lose your data - only photos , because contacts are backed-up with your Google account .
So , next time use an SD card . It is an advantage , not many phones offer anymore , nowadays .

I agree with your suggestion to use and SD card and also do backups regularly. My contacts are not backed up in my Google account - maybe I did not choose to sync with google account. It has been a painful experience that I would not want to undergo ever again.
Google or search in this forum - how to flash a ROM with Odin . Also you can find a stock Samsung ROM somewhere here . But I advise to read very well the instructions because you can brick your phone . To go to download mode - volume down + home + power .

Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- The Red Exclamation Mark will NOT appear at boot up.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions.

Hi Raistlin,
Thanks for your advice. I tried the link you mentioned and now my phone has gone into a boot loop or maybe bricked.
Here is what I did
1. Downloaded Odin3 v1.85
2. Downloaded the stock ROM (PHONE: XXBMD5 version) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942150
3. Started my phone in download mode and started Odin and connected the phone. Odin successfully connected to the phone
4. Chose the tar.md5 file that I extracted from the ROM zip file and pressed Start.
5. It took a few minutes to upload to my phone and then the phone went into a boot loop with the same error message as in my first post. [SEE Windows VIDEO zip attached]
Any suggestions why this happened and what I can do now to get out of this boot loop? Is it possible that this is a hardware problem and not a software problem? At least I need to bring the phone to a situation where I can take it back to Samung and still fix it under warranty.
Thanks
Danke Leute ihr habt mir sehr geholfen
@ NotBackedUp
If I am not wrong , your EFS is damaged . Since you don't have an EFS backup is better to don't attempt other methods for fix . Check Binary Flash Counter and Status in download mode .If counter is 0 and Status is Samsung original , you can take phone to dealer for warranty .

Oh, the firmware package had a single file called "I9305_EVR_I9305XXBMD5_PRE-ROOTED_I9305XXBMD5_I9305EVRBLL2.tar.md5" which was about 1.26 Gb after extracting
Extract it once again using winrar You should get some xxx.img files. Then tell me the names of these files

Hi, I checked the zipped file again. It has only one file in it...the .md5 file. The zipped file was taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1942150.
Sent phone into Samsung Service Centre for repair
Dear All,
I truly appreciate all those who took the time to read my posts to understand my problem and especially to those who took the effort to respond and help me out.
I needed to get this phone ready soon and I went back to the Service Centre. My warranty remained intact. I was told that in 5 mins I will have a new ROM installed. In 5 mins they came out and told me that it was a hardware problem and the only way to fix it was to change the motherboard.
They took it in, and within a day returned it with a new motherboard. Now, it is working.
Thanks very much xda developers and thank you all for your help!
