Speech to text on Android Revolution HD 22 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
Ive recently installed Android Revolution HD 22 and I am pretty UK impressed so far. One feature I am missing though is the speech to text. I have the microphone button in a few apps but pressing it often causes the app to crash.
Is there any way I can get this feature back?
Thanks for the help guys

[Q] Stock Browser

Hi all,
is it able to enable the browser to be able to open more windows and not just 4?
i heard it has been done but i am looking for a flashable zip of some sort.
Thanks!
the other browsers in the market not to your liking?
Trying to keep my marketapps to a minimum. Besides I like the clean simple design of the stock browser on my desire hd. I've seen a post on xda that did this but it didn't work.

I attempted to install the default android browser apk on a Sense ROM previously and all it did was make the browser non functional.
I recommend Dolphin browser from the market. It's really much more convenient than the default browser as it requires less key presses to move between tabs.
Yea I used dolphin. Guess I have to go bacI to that. thanks anyway.

Voice search is iffy, and I don't really like using the workaround, but Google Now does indeed work. Pulled up info about my town quite easily, although the back button is useless if you want to exit the app. There's also an issue where cards sometimes don't show up, but it doesn't happen much. Pretty nice, though. Hope they manage to get voice search fully functional.
I installed Google Now using MikeyXDA's v6 zip, and it works ok, except for speech. It gives the answer, but does not talk. Any ideas?
I currently use thishttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224 one, is this any better. Does the jelly bean voice search work here?

[Q] Emoji Trouble Only in SMS Apps?

I'm having trouble getting emoji to work in my SMS apps. Emoji works everywhere EXCEPT SMS apps. I downloaded GO SMS and the emoji plugin, and could only see the ones I sent. Received ones are boxes with question marks in them. I tried the same with Handcent and couldn't get it to work either. I had this same issue with my Evo LTE, but never had this problem on my Evo 3D. Could it be some interference with Jelly Bean?

Go SMS + emoji work fine on my note 2 running stock jb 4.1.2, have you tried disabling/freezing the stock messaging app?

I looked through settings and didn't see anything related. I hope this is something that just requires an app update. I still have at least a week till I will receive my One but if emjoi does't work my fiance will be pissed.

Yeah. It's especially annoying since I had this problem on my LTE. I was hoping that getting this device would fix the problem.

Another odd symptom I just found: my battery drained to 32% after three and a half hours, and GO SMS Emoji Plugin was causing most of the battery drain (61%). Not sure why that would happen.

Emojs

Ok,so ive searched and searched trying to find out how to use emojis(iphone style)on a stock Jellybean 4.2.2 htc one(not rooted),and all it comes up with in search is ROMS.I have the standard emoji faces, but after the iphone style (buildings, animals, etc).I was using Chompsms, which had a plugin for emoji, but chompsms was using 30% of my battery life a day.Ive downloaded and tried installing a few off the Playstore, but they still dont show up.Can someone suggest something?Am i doing something wrong? This is my first Android phone,so please be gentle.Any advice would be appreciated

There's an emoji keyboard in the play store. It's a piece of crap though and it sucks to have to change keyboards back and forth.

Try Textra with the associated free emoji plug in. It has all the iphone emojis and works fine for me.
I had the chompsms app(also made by Delicous inc),but it was destroying my battery life for some reason.I also had the emoji plug in for chompsms, which would be the same as Textra.I was hoping there would be a setting.somewhere that would enable native Emoji, without rooting or require different roms and/or crappy, half done play store apps

I second TextraSMS. Aside from the native CM10.2 messaging app, it's the best one I found in the Play Store.

Okay speaking of the native CM messaging app, would it work to just grab the messenger.apk and install it as a system app in a stock based rom? Or is that crazy talk?
