[Q] Disabling Notification on HtcPowerManager.apk - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Is there a way to disable the notification that is always there in the drop down notification bar? I go to the settings and the option to disable it is greyed out. I don't want to remove it, because I like it how it is. But I really hate seeing it every time I pull down the notification bar. I tried following steps at http://teamdirt.me/showthread.php?126-Disable-Power-Saver_Notification but I guess I'm a noobie at decompiling. I used apk manager and it just gives me the files, not the code that the directions show. What do I need to do to do it properly? Thank you to anyone who reads this.

If you are on 4.3 it doesn't show up unless Enabled, if you are rooted and on 4.3 then you can use Disable Service to disable the notification service through that app. If on 4.1 then it shows when both Enabled AND Disabled so then you can use that same app if rooted to disable the Noti Service. Now, if you aren't rooted then all you need to do is go ahead and Force Stop the app through Settings but will have to Force Stop every time the Status of the Power Management changes. Going this route, same as with the rooted method, will still Power Management and Power Saver to run but not show the Noti Icon.

if you're rooted, we have a mod in our mod pack to remove it from notifications

Thanks a bunch, using the disable service app really did the trick.

You're welcome, I personally do not like installing modifications or modifying system apps due to the high risk of messing something else up but with that app it only disables that service instead of removing it which I am perfectly fine with.

not the only one. Check and see if you can disable it by going in to settings -> apps -> All -> Power. I can't get rid of it sadly. :/
The only way to permanently remove it now is by rooting.
To temporarily remove it, you can ford close the "Power" app from the App info screen.
What i done was hold it down then stop app it's now gone but can use it in settings
Settings, apps, all, power, turn off notifications, yes

This doesnt work on non rooted devices. The "show notifications" option is greyed out and cannot be unchecked. At least thats how it is on my device running 1.28.401.7.

If you are rooted, you need to either flash a ROM that has that option enabled, or install a mod (like this) to enable it.

For non-rooted (stock) phones, you can't remove it. You can bypass it by "Force closing" the Power app. But it will come back after a reboot or if your battery goes down to 14% & Power Saver turns on.
As for disabling it, I didn't try, but would expect that you will loose the "Power Saver" function & the options under Settings>Power. ("Power" will be completely gone).
the best way to disable the notification while keeping the power saving app running is to disable the notification receiver activity in the power app.
must have root access
1. install and open an app 'system tuner'
2. click system and wait until all of the apps are there
3. scroll down to 'Power'
4. tap power and then tap details
5. scroll down to "receivers"
6. untick "powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver"
7. reboot

[Q] Power Saver notification on 4.2.2

Just got the 4.2.2 update today which installed fine.. sites all over the internet claim this should remove the annoying Power Saver notification.
Unfortunately this hasn't happened for me, I can only remove the notification by turning the service off or using the force stop option in App info.
The 'show notifications' checkbox is greyed out in App info.
Can anyone shed any light on this, I want the Power Saver mode on - just without the permanent notification!!
Thanks,
Mark

There is an app in the Play store :JMZ Power Saver Disable or something close to that that does exactly what you want.

Yeah i've heard of that thanks - my One isn't rooted though. Just seems like everyone is reporting the update fixes it but it hasn't for me amd I can't work out why!!
It's removed only when the power saver is off.
Photosphere/Power saver notification/Developer options
I've seen that the Photosphere application/feature, Power saver notification and the Developer options button is removed from settings...............these seem to be missed somehow

4.3 OTA and Power Saver notification?

I thought I read somewhere that the 4.3 OTA was supposed to enable turning off the Power Saver notification (a complete waste of screen space) but that doesn't seem to be the case? Or am I missing something?

They moved it to the quick toggles.
You can turn Power Saver on and off in the Quick Toggles, but can't control the notification in the pull down. I want Power Saver on, but without the notification. If you go to "Power" under All Apps, there is a notification check box but it is grayed out.

Try this

Not sure if that's exactly what you're asking though.

He's trying to say that he does in fact want power saver to be on (which is just a press of the toggle), but while power saver is turned on, a notification appears in the status bar just like it used to. He doesn't want this notification.
Install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmzsoft.powersaverdisabler&hl=en
remove the icon from the notification bar with it, then uninstall the app, powersaver still runs but it wont show in the bar anymore
done
You can also do it yourself straight from terminal emulator
Code:
su
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver

Yes you would need root, it would be a simple matter of rooting, running the app/command to remove the icon then unrooting however it just depends on how much effort you want to go through vs how much you hate that icon
personally I didn't mind the icon and learned to ignore it with 4.1.2 but now with 4.3 I decided to remove it. I'm not sure why they force it on us in the notification bar when its not really a "notification"

I actually hate that icon a lot! Almost as much as the big menu bar at the bottom of the screen, which thankfully is now gone. Rooting, removing and then unrooting is not a bad idea - I've rooted several devices, its not something I enjoy doing, but I can do it. I can't stay rooted thanks primarily to Time Warner Cable and their TWC TV app, that won't run with root without additional convoluted effort that doesn't always work.
My other alternative is to force close the notification manually ... given how infrequently I need to reboot the phone, I wouldn't have to do this all that often.

Aa new update is available (T810XXU2CPD9) - Any way to disable it?

Hey,
I just got a message that a new update is available. I am on 6.0.1 and don't want to update since I don't want to reroot and reinstall xposed all over again. It's now stuck in my notifications bar, can I somehow disable it and also deny the tablet to pull new updates in the future?
Thank you.
Hold down on the notification, then uncheck "Allow Notifications."
This doesn't work with the "software-update" app, I already tried that.
You don't have this option, only set priority, preview in pop ups or hide on lock screen (which doesn't work for the notification bar). I could make a screenshot if you don't believe me.
Edit: Here:

Edit 2.: For everyone who wants to know. I used titanium Backup to freeze the Software update app (com.wssyncmldm).

Question [Origin OS Ocean] How to get push notification from various apps (like social and messaging)

Like the title say, I'm in trouble getting the notification of any app I install : I disabled vivo.pem as suggested in one other thread and allow notofication per single app (that were turned off before) and last disabled the background battery optimization for those apps.
No luck after all, as nothing show up when I send whatsapp mess e.g.
Any ideas?

I had to use the uninstall command on vivo.pem to get my notifications to work, disable didn't help me on the latest firmware.
Also, check the app permissions, hold down app, info, app permissions.
Turn off (remove permissions if app isn't used)
Single permission settings (turn all on the switches), you can also review permissions
Go back 2 screens and select notifications, select all sliders and then check your desired app notification is going out via priority display.
Finally go to settings, battery, background power consumption management, and change the setting for the app you want to not sleep by choosing high background power usage.
So annoying, I know, too many settings and easy to forget one
Good luck!

Thanks for the time spent in the long answer; however still no notifications on the tested app (whatsaap) with all the reccomended settings.
Is since 2015 I think that I don't have a chinese firmware phone and the things have changed, in fact, before, was enough to install play store and all the notification were received without further settings.

Hey Guys,
i also did every setting as told and my Notification for especially WhatsApp isn't working at all.
Sometimes it does, but then all of a sudden it just refreshes when I open the App itself.
I even put it down in the Bar with the 5 Main Apps, in hope those would be refreshed or kept alive in the Background.
Not sure anyway what you mean with uninstalling vivo.pem.
Suckz kind of, because apart from that it really is a great Phone... aside from Android Auto not working.

You have to plug in phone on computerand run ADB command to uninstall vivo.pem.
Vivo.pem is a system that aggressively shut down apps to save battery power, to much shut downs and notifications stop working.
Check the thread "Origin Os initail review" on here and you will find out how to do it. Takes only 10 minutes

After doing the uninstalling did it stop the issue?
I uninstalled, rather than disabled, their power saving vivo.pem, ensured all my apps had priority permissions for notifications, disabled battery saving, and added them to 'autostart' in their respective permissions, and I get proper notifications for all the social media and messaging apps. The only small glitch come with Google Messages which won't display notifications in system wide dark mode. You can get around that by enabling the 'chat bubbles' option in Google Messages settings as they do work in dark mode.
Notifications are not the only issue , i cannot select Mock gps location app in Developer Mode ...
I press on the app i want to use ,but nothing happend , the app is not selected .
Anyone noticed that too ?
Thanks
There is no need to uninstall vivo.pem, I think. Just some few steps:
1. Go to recent apps and lock it.
2. Settings -> Apps & permissions -> App manager -> WhatsApp -> Permissions -> Single permission settings -> Autostart and Startup enabled.
3. Settings -> Battery -> Background power consumption management -> WhatsApp -> Select high background power usage.
4. Settings -> Battery -> More settings -> Disable Sleep mode.
Works fine for me.
Do you use Whatssup? after the latest OS update it cannot connect to linked devices
