HTC ONE Firmware Files - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all,
Does any of you knows how can I figure out which file in a firmware package is which?
For example, which files are the touch drivers, and which are the camera ones for example.
Is there a tool to view the content of those .img files?
tried various img softwares that claim the files are corrupted.
Any help will be appreciated.
THX

Camera drivers are in the ROM, not the FW

Hi Eddie,
Are you sure there are no files that affect camera function in the fw package?

If you open an .apk file with, say, WinRAR, that's what you'll see. Just so you know.

if you have the .apk file you have to install it! if you don't have the .apk file and just the extracted version, you can let Titanium BackUp make one for you.
I don't know of this will help but I had a similar prob. I had an .txt file of an app and I couldn't figure out ho to convert it into apk but after getting no solution i just renamed it to .APk instead of .txt and it worked!

Umm.. might wanna remove the link bru. I dun think xda allows warez.
I get a white background. How do you remove it? Can you explain again what to do with TB files. If you extract both the rar files, one will be an apk, and the other will be a data folder. Should I put both including the .properties file in the TB folder?

Sure. I've attached it.
Its NOT a flashable zip. When you extract the zip you will see both the jpeg image and the .img file.

U will need the Android SDK. (Also make sure you have ENG S-OFF on your phone)
Put your phone into bootloader fastboot. Then in the Android SDK, place the img file in the same folder as the fastboot.exe. Open a CMD window there and type the following commands:-
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 stock_splash.img
fastboot reboot

Technically you can. You will have to create a zip file called PD98IMG.zip and place the img file inside it along with the correct android-info.txt.
Unfortunately, as I have never done it, I won't be able to help you out with this, sorry.

I've extracted it from one of the PD98IMG.zip files for DHD. I've attached it.
Btw, the compression level of the zip should be store and the zip has to be placed in the root of your sdcard (ie not in any folder). Then you will have to boot into bootloader and it should automatically detect the zip file and flash it.
Try it on your own risk, i take no responsibility if anything goes wrong.
EDIT: Rename the IMG to splash1.img and then put into the zip.
It worked ^^

You can do this from terminal emulator. Type flash_image splash path_to_splash_img
path_to_splash_img is path to your splash1.img, like /sdcard/splash1.img
great!!! thx it works

I have an error when trying to extract the zip.
I have both files, what did you use to compress them?
EDIT
I have redownloaded them, any chance anyone can upload in one file? Cheers

I used WinZip to create the split zip file. Were you able to extract it? I have a feeling the 2nd upload could have had an issue. Let me reupload that file.
EDIT: Uploading the whole ftf to another site now..
How do flash separate parts?

You don't have to, they should be extracted and form one file together, but I can't get them to extract properly yet

I have heard of a program named xmlprinter. This can transform the xml file into a readable text file. That is easy to translate.
