How many people are still in here.

I want to check how many people are still in here.
I'd like to contribute sth. for xda again and I dont know if I should post sth. for Android/Desire or WinMo/Xperia.
I'd like to cook a Rom or make Skins and Wallpapers for Windows Mobile, because it's easier for me, but if nobody is here anymore that will be lost time.
So please check in here and VOTE
I really hope there's enough feedback for winmo
yeah I hope so too.
You do realise this post is extremely biased because those that rarely visit the forum arent even going to see this thread!!
Yup I AM looking for more xperia 1 applications -can you please guide me I want to use the call recordern in win mobile notes - but it stops recording automatically after 30 seconds - please help reply to [email protected] - thanks in advance
HAHA, true. But it will be a good indication of just how many active members there are on the xperia forums.
I'm quite excited about the android development and when it is stable it'll be going straight onto my x1.
But for now, the winmo is the way to go.
Monitor how many posts the forum has per day and how much it increases every 24 hours, then you'll know how many folks are on it everyday and conributing etc might be more accurate method
still got my x1a. dont go to the xperia as often as i use to but i drop in every now and then.
bought an hd2 and so i visit that sight a little more frequent. but even before i bought my hd2, i didnt visit the xperia as much as when i had the xperia in the first year.
now today, im going to go buy the palm pre plus from at&t and so i will be frequently dropping by the precentral.net
sure would like to see webos ported to either the x1 or hd2
nobody here just us chicken
And me!
But I came here more when I just became a member. Now I only check the Rom development and the Android sections. And I think this is maybe the same for other users. You should check out those threads aswell. But it is allways great when someone new wants to develop for our devices! So please choose the Xperia!
I had my X1i for 8 month's now and had no problems at all and Android makes the X1i that much more enjoyable. I'm very happy to hear you want to make more cool improvements to are phones.

Full newbie's first smartphone LG P990

Hello there dear people! I just ordered my first smartphone, LG. I am FULLY newbie in Smartphones and I have almost no clue 'bout anything relating to them to be honest. All I know is that I have there Android 2.3.4 and the phone will arrive to me in next few days. I did some research and there are some questions that I'd like to ask.
A) I heard that camera in this phone is very bad, but mainly when you do research 'bout this phone you read two years old threads. When I came to your forum and checked the thread with 'best photos you took with LG' I was happy again. The question is how to get a good camera quality? Not like the old photos that I've seen which are REALLY bad.
B) I don't even know what ICS, Kernel, ROMS or anything is. I don't know which Android is best/newest and which to choose/ how to install. I'd really love to get some explanations from you that will help not only me, but many confused people starting their smartphone adventure. So...
C) I heard that battery life of this phone is fully unacceptable, but again, it was two years ago. What about now?
Having said that, I heard that this phone gets a totally new life with right software so if you could please just write me what's best to have this phone with:
Good camera quality,
Decent battery life,
Good audio on headphones.
I just realized that I don't tend to play so many games on phones and I might have bought a gaming phone, when what I really need is good photos, Internet, audio and battery.
Thank you for any answers in advance, I know that the subject must be probably very huge (like asking about Laptop software, windows etc.), but there must be some kind of default things making this phone better, and I want to install it as soon as I get the phone. :highfive:
Alright, here's my advice: stay with the stock ROM for some time. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but that'll help you understand the difference between LG's software and, for example, Cyanogenmod (CM).
Also, try not to ask questions that might be obvious to the most seasoned users. Instead, use the Search function - a lot. That will save you time and you will learn a lot in the process.
Experiment. Our 2X is quite hard to "brick", so if anything goes wrong you can always get back on business by flashing a stock ROM. So, don't be afraid to try stuff by yourself - even if it means screwing up your device every now and then. That'll teach you how to use the recovery, how to use Smartflash, NVFlash, etc.
Stop by the Development forum and read the stickies. Tonyp's Baseband thread is a must read. The other stickies might be a bit outdated, but I believe they're still worth a read.
Again, and I want to remark this, use the Search.
I'm aware that most of what I've said is not probably related to what you asked, but since you're a new smartphone user I believe these tips will be helpful for you.
Stay stock for a while, lurk the forums, read a lot!

How root or wipe Z1/newbie

Hey there people
I know this is the Z3 section, couldn't find a Z1... so, in 2 words, i got this xperia Z1 which is password locked and i need to unlock it.
First let me tell you what i do for living, i work in a non profit organization in belgium called "les petit riens" (the little nothings), we do lots of stuff for charity, we have
a guest house for homeless people and also for youngsters in difficulties, we also have a small store where people can buy first need products for a really low price, we receive countless articles from people everyday to later be sold for an affordable price, of course these articles need to be tested or repair beforehand, me personally, i am responsible for the computer & gadgets department, from time to time we receive lots of phones and/or computers that were lost and never claimed by the owner... you may be thinking "but you're a tech guy"... well yes, in short i am, but that doesn't mean i know everything, and that's the reason i am here.
One of the obstacles i face almost everyday, are icloud locked devices and xperia phones, not knowing how android really works, i don't dare to mess around with software i don't really understand.. better ask people with experience on the field.
Fair to say i am only beginning to understand terms like "bootloader" or "rooting", so what i am asking for is for step by step instructions on how to properly unlock these xperia devices.
Needless to say these phones were legally acquired, you may contact sncb in belgium and ask, and if you'd need my credential, i'll be happy to show them in private.
the locked phone is a sony xperia z1 C6903
thank you very much for your time and help, if you got more questions regarding the phone or anything else, please don't hesitate.
cheers

hey there, thanks for your response, if you don't mind and have the time, would you care to explain which software exactly i should use ? and also which firmware?
does it depend on something specifically ? or it could be firmware ? and where do i download all that?
thanks so much
there is already a nice guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439328
I believe that you are actually only interested in bypassing the user-password lock and then resetting the phone to its default state. If so, there's no need to actually root the phone or to unlock its bootloader.
If so, you can use the Repair function of the Sony PC Companion programme. See instructions here. Using this function will wipe all user data (including the user-password lock) and also flash the phone to the latest stock firmware.
And the Xperia Z1 section is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1

Nokia 7.1 or Motorola G6plus

Hey
I can buy one of these phones used 1-2 months for similar good prcice. And I have dilema.
The most important for me is camera(quality in night condition also matters) - I have no idea which one is better in this field.
Also I pay attention to screen and design - I guess in this regards Nokia win. However I have some doubts about 3gb ram in Nokia, it seems too little, but maybe its enough because of pure android?
I have also option to buy LG G6 but for similar price, but it would be used about 12months.
What do you think?
Hi there,
There are threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
There are also several other discussion threads that you probably should review to help you. They are What phone do you wish you had? or
The Worst Android Device That You've Ever Had & Why or even this place that talks about The best phone you ever owned.
I will have to close this one. Thanks for understanding.
