Hi Guys
While trying to make a good back up before I installed Xposed , I used Clockwork Mod and created a .zip image backup
It was successful , and has used up 3 gigs of space
But I have no idea where it is stored , or can be found. There seems to be nothing in the Clockwork mod folder .
Can anyone please assist me locate where its stored I want to delete it or move ( no point having a backup if I cant find it )
Thanks in advance
I have a HTC one Rooted Stock 4.2.2 CWM recovery
this is the location of the file I think
0/clockworkmod/backup/old-backup

[Q] help~ deleted framework-res.apk

i try to mod battery icon for myself, after all done i used root explorer to copy my mod. framework-res.apk to my P1000 SGT, when it ask me to replace the file i said "YES" after then it said "no enough space to copy the file" and i seen the framework-res.apk is missing and hanged. anyone can help me....... thank you.
Omg, I did the same thing 2 days ago trying to install a honeycomb theme. My Tab crashed and it wouldn't boot.
There are two options:
1. If you happened to have made a back-up of the file and happen to have flashed a CWM containing kernel such as overcome. You can ADB to the tab in recovery mode (power plus volume up), and try to replace. This has to be done with a custom kernel cause the stock samsung recovery did not let me enable root previliges to replace the file.
2. Flash another Rom. Which is what I did.I just installed Overcome.

[Q] Looking for a critique on my backup method

I wanted to layout what I did to achieve a backup and was hoping that one of the understanding ones could give me feedback about the method and any guidance on a better way.
1. Device is untouched
2. Superonclick for Root Access
3. Copied and manually installed ROM Manager.APK
4. Copied and manually install Verizon Bootstrapper.APK
This installed ClockWork Mod 3 and a full backup of the system was made with the following files:
Boot.img
Cache.img
data.img
datadata.img
nandroid.md5
recovery.img
system.img
So … given that I have these files from a virgin tab with no data entered …. No google account etc.. this should be a base image set correct?
Now what is the best way to extract from the IMG files what everyone needs from the various posts?
P.S. I did try rotobackup, I tried the exe file and the scripts that people made …. Apparently that is one above my pay grade as I could not get them to work.
Tell me I am an idiot … tell me it is a waste of time ….. or teach me to fish ….. open to any feedback.
Thanks,
Tony ~ mnpolock
I don't believe your image is really a base image, since you have installed Clockworkmod. So even if you flash back to that image, and then do a factory reset (which would wipe out root) you'll still have CWM on there.
Good point ..... I was looking at it from the standpoint (but didn't say) that I would have everything stock and blank but the kernel ( I think that is correct CWM is a kernel mod).
Tony
best way to back up anything you wan is to use Titanium Backup app you can back anything you want by just picking it from apps or system files and then but the back up you made on your pc or safe place ..

Problem installing CM7 google Apps Update.zip

Hi guys , I installed CM7 Rom (from 2.1 JFD) through Rom Manager, it works good, i put update.zip on card, but ddnt put google apps .zip file.
CM7 installed correctly. when i tried to put googleAppsUpdate.zip on card (and removed th CM7Update.zip ) and restarted in recovery from rom manager , i got An Exclamation White triangle Above and Android Man Symbol. and no progress !!!
wht is wrong ?? and how can i Install google Apps update ??
I'm kind of confused here bud, but update.zip is clockwork mod not cm7. By putting the update.zip and applying it via recovery, that would have installed clockwork recovery, and from there you would have needed to install the cm7 zip via recovery to flash cm7. The Google apps zip can be downloaded through your ron manager or via cm7 server, then it needs to he flashed the same way via clockwork recovery (install zip from sdcard).

Here comes the fire!!! :-D simple beginner mistake lol
Galaxy S Vibrant CM7.1
google apps....are apps!
you can extract all the apps from the zip, and push them to system/app.
if you cant do that, try mounting system in recovery before you flash....if this was the hd2 forum, you will be hot Cheetos right now...flamed! lol

thx
This belongs in the Q&A, NOT in the Vibrant Android Development

First fo all, this is in the wrong forum.
Second of all, I really believe you are probably trying to flash a version of gapps that is not correct for your device.
But either way...
The two compressed folders are
-META-INF
-system
decompress the system folder..maybe put it on your desktop or something. Inside the system folder is a series of different folders. Look for the one that is named "Apps" take that folder and place it on the root of your SDcard. Now, go back onto your phone and use Root explorer to manually move each of the apks from that app folder that you would like...and move them to system>apps. fix the permissions on the apk once you move it so that it has the same permissions as every other apk already in the folder and once you are done moving whichever apps you'd like on your phone and fixing the permissions, reboot your phone.

Need help replacing a single file in system folder

Hi guys,
I tried a fix for GPS for v20l that can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19002334&postcount=41
This got me into a bootloop...
Can anybody help me and create a zip update to install via clockworkmod with the services.jar I backed up?
services.jar: http://www.mediafire.com/?b7ib6q8z4fa0z5z
Is there any other way to replace it manually in clockworkmod?
thnx

Here, attached. The file on mediafire is larger than "my" stock services.jar though, don't know what that is about.
Anyway, flash it via CWM, wipe dalvik-cache, and you should have your original back.
Now that I've done you a favor, you can do me one: Look up ADB on the .net. Even on an unrooted phone you can boot into CWM, mount /system and run ADB-commands to replace single files like this. It will probably save you some time.

ClockWork Recovery problem

I can't find my flashable zips in 'choose zip from sdcard'. I tried to put it in a specific folder that I made but it is invisible in clockwork recovery. Also I noticed that old files are visible in clockwork recovery although I already deleted those old files. I can't flash custom rom because of this.
Also when I installed ARHD Google play edition 4.2.2 my virtual sdcard contents were all deleted and my backups gone. I don't know what happened, the aroma installer said that the virtual sdcard will remain untouched. Please help
Is it safe to just reflash CWM? I am having problems with cwm it can't find any file that I put in my sdcard.
-edit-
I restored my phone, safely returned from stock but problem not solved..
please help..

Is there a 0/ entry in you CWM folder list?....... if so your files are in that folder
4.2.2 has a different folder structure to support multiple user.
When you copy a custom ROM.zip to the phone, you find it under SDcard/0/
Make yourself familiar with the new handling of SDcard under 4.2.2
It is explained in the forums
