Yes, USB Debugging is enabled, Apps from Unknown Sources is enabled, the lot.
Just cant understand why it wont work. Trying to push the Xperia Z1 Camera port to my Xperia Z and the Flashable way of installing it failed and FC's the Camera and Camera Common.
are you rooted?

when phone is connect type adb devices and does it come up with any ?
If no then it is a cable or driver issue
You can always try WiFi ADB aswell

yes i have and ive had no luck what so ever. just keeps saying device not found even though it displays the serial number of my Z when i type "adb devices".
If you rooted just move the apk to your phone install then move the files manually sounds like adb drivers are wrong

Have you set your environment variables correct in your Windows installation?
Google for: adb for dummies
It contains a step by step instruction of how to properly set-up your adb connections.

Go to apps, push menu button, choose either camera or massstorage mode. And enable usb debugging and enable root access for apps and adb. This should solve it. If not, reinstall your cm10 with all wipes.

don't understand why you wrote "go to apps" - in my CM10 on my p970 the USB options are in storage menu :
settings->storage->[press menu]->USB computer connection
then after choosing Mass storage i can finally debug using ADB

Hi everyone, unfortunatly i broke my screen, my phone was rooted and i was using CM7
i would like to recover my files, but due to the my broken screen i can't see anything so i can't mount usb storage,
I also heard that if i activate usb debugging mode i can acces my files easily.. but debugging mode wasn't activated..
and finally I heard that through Recovery Mode, i can mount usb storage, but once again i cannot see or do anything ..
so can you help me please ?
thanks a lot for your help, and thanks to everyone on this forum for their help and their roms etc !
AW: [Q] Broken Screen..
Search on google for a pic from the the right recovery version then you navigate blind witch the picture.
If this dont work you can force the into recovery mode and plug it to the PC. You can save your data using adb without enabling usb debugging

AW: [Q] Broken Screen..
Go into recovery and plug it to the pc. Open cmd and navigate to your adb folder. Then type "adb devices" you should now see your phone listed as some random numbers. If not you did something wrong.
If you see your device type this "adb pull /sdcard C:\…" and the whole sd should be copied to the directory.

AW: [Q] Broken Screen..
The contacts are normally saved with your gmail account.
With this command you push your whole sd to the pc but i think if you want also the app data you have to use another command and you need root.

thanks a lot, i finally could save all my files and reset my phone
i started the phone in recovery mode, i connected it to pc with adb drivers, but i wasn't able to copy or mount anything, i installed android commander software, so i was able to have screenshot from my phone while browsing the recovery, i mounted usb storage, i copied all my files
then i wiped the phone
and i checked if everything was deleted with androidscreencast, i was able to see my phone's screen live, and with the mouse i could browse my phone ( the touchscreen didn't work too )
thanks a lot for your help !
Here's what I need so that I can update things like Firmware packages, ROM files, mods, etc...
This is all assuming they didn't break our ability to root and/or use a custom recovery
This is already done:
First ensure you're on the NAE update. (Duh)
Root it
Enable USB Debugging, connect to PC with adb setup and do the following:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/apnhlos of=/data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/mdm of=/data/local/tmp/mdm.bin
exit
adb pull /data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin
adb pull /data/local/tmp/mdm.bin
It's possible they don't allow writing to /data/local/tmp, you might just use /sdcard instead. (so change of=/data/local/tmp/x.bin to of=/sdcard/x.bin) but being in su should grant you access to do whatever.
You'll have two files (apnhlos.bin and mdm.bin), zip those up, upload them somewhere and send them to me.
I still need this
Next for the system file(s) I need...
First ensure you're on the NAE update. (Duh)
Wipe it to full stock, no mods, no personal apps, no accounts setup, nothing.
Flash recovery
Boot to recovery and do a Nandroid backup to your external sd card.
Boot back to system and copy off the file(s) called system.ext4.img or something to the extent of that, it should be SOMEWHERE on your external sd card, TWRP stores it in the TWRP folder somewhere, CWM stores them in some clockworkmod folder somewhere I believe.
I need all the system image files from the backup, it'll be huge an upwards of 2-3GB, and it might split them into multiple files, so there might be more than one system file in that backup folder. I need them all, zip them up again and upload them somewhere and send the link to me please.
Thanks!
Also, if someone has the update file, that'd by slightly helpful as well, but the other two are more important.
OTA file name is:
8069446ccb676c347a698e64b2df33882547f017.USER_L720 _SPT_MK2_CSB_user_RP_to_NAE_CSB_user_RP_Update_FWD .zip

The commands to type were in the OP.
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/apnhlos of=/data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/mdm of=/data/local/tmp/mdm.bin
exit
adb pull /data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin
adb pull /data/local/tmp/mdm.bin

Do I just type the whole thing at once? I tried doing just the apnhlos.bin and got this message.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You hit enter after each line. In this exact order:
Type adb shell Then hit enter.
Type su Then hit enter.
Type dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/apnhlos of=/data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin Then hit enter.
Type dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/mdm of=/data/local/tmp/mdm.bin Then hit enter.
Type exit Then hit enter.
Type adb pull /data/local/tmp/apnhlos.bin Then hit enter.
Type adb pull /data/local/tmp/mdm.bin Then hit enter.
After which, you'll follow the rest of the instructions in the OP.

Boot into TWRP and connect to PC. See if you can mount MTP that way. Not a fix but could get your files transferred. Also may prove if more than a ROM issue.
I have the same issue? An it still is not coming up with TWRP? I tried the DEV M preview, it's good. But will not connect to PC as MTP?
Usb debugging off, selected mtp in dev options, reboot phone. works now?

I tried different ports but the phone will connect adb and ptp so I assumed it was the phone. When I connect using mtp, it makes the connection sound but nothing happens.
