I seen in another thread people were getting Squaretrade. But I just got off the phone with them, and they don't cover smart watches. I know people were mentioning black tie through best buy, but what if you purchased through T mobile? What are your options?

I won't even get insurance on my phones. 5 bucks a month with a 10 dollar deductable. No thanks ill role the dice... by the time you need to make a claim you have already spent 100 bucks in monthly fees then another 100 for the claim. Them your spending 200 for a phone that's a year+ old.
With the watch the cost is only 300 I can't find a reason to insure that only to spend half the original cost on insurance 8 months down the road to have it replaced with refurbished out dated technology.
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
The claim from the other thread was that the watch was bought under warranty rather than insurance. That's a huge difference. I'd like to know about buying warranty as well. I bought mine from Verizon. Maybe I should take mine back and get one at BB, so that I can buy warranty. Sorry achtung515, but your logic doesn't make sense on a watch that costs this much and is very delicate.

Hey guys,

I just bought one, price is lower than most of sellers, only 1 left! Hopefully I like it more than my s2! :good:
that's expensive D:
You are an idiot for purchasing that. Sorry.
I cannot buy off of Play store, or from local stores, since im from South America.
It was not a bad deal, I sold my s2 for $400 =D
Damn I sold my s2 for 260 with accessories, you got a great deal

A lot of people on ebay are profiting like crazy because they were able to buy like 6-7 phones. Sucks for us users that either got on the back order list or didn't get one. Google should have limited to 1-2 phones per address. If you cant buy locally then thats fine.
If I wasn't able to get mine from the play store I would have paid up to 450 for the 8 and 600 for the 16

Yea, I got a prime for it, but it is always the same. The phone I owned before my s2 was a bb torch (1st gen) which I sold for $380 and bought the s2 for $420. You'll be amazed on how much we pay for techology devices over here (Ecuador).
The s3 is around $900 atm, lol, (with contract for 1-2 years)

Hopefully you do not have an issue with it. As soon as Google has them back in stock these greedy eBay sellers will wither away..
Kind of ticks me off that Google did not set limits or if they did they set them too high.

Issue as...?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Issue as your phone being damaged or not working..I don't believe Google honors a warranty made to someone else which leaves LG meaning you would most likely be without a phone for weeks.
You have to ask yourself if out would be better to wait a week or two or pay more and take a risk. Keep in mind that when ever we buy like this from these people it only encourages them to do it more.

BS "8 available / 27 sold"
It looks like some were able to order a lot more. I think this is total BS! It would have been awesome if no one would buy one off of ebay for these ridiculous prices and let the seller be stuck with them.

WHY?
You just got ripped off buddy
500.00 on Ebay is a fair markup. You figure the phone from the Play store will be around 375.00 - 400.00 after tax and shipping. The seller will make a 100.00 to 125.00 profit.

Not even that much. You have to factor in eBay costs and PayPal costs. I recently sold a pair of ice skates and I got hit with over $40 in fees.
So you figure my 16g n4 came to me for around 400 from Google. That means in order for someone to make any profit they need to sell it for at least 450.
With that being said posting it for $500 is not unreasonable. They are making like $50-60 bucks profit. I think that's fair for the effort of posting it etc.... I loath the people selling it for $800+ however. Just my .02

What insurance is everyone going to get for their One?
I preordered at Best Buy and it seems like their protection plan is much better than Sprint's insurance.

Best Buy's protection plan is very nice, and right for the money. However, I'm in a different boat since I have a SERO-P account. I will need to stick with Sprint's TEP, which isn't a bad plan either. Just a little more expensive over time, and a little more of a headache getting what you need when your device is screwy. I've had TEP for at least 5 years now, and I've hardly ever used it, which is usually my argument with Sprint when I have to call them for a problem with the phone. But if something is wrong with it, I can usually take it into a Sprint store and walk out with a new one on it's way to my house next day. It's the phone support that's gotten worse over the years.
Best Buys insurance plan does not cover the phone being lost or stolen.

That is one downside to it.
The price has dropped to about $240($60 cheaper than before) on the gear. I just noticed this today. BTW Best Buy will match the price if you show them in the store. Is this a sign of a slow down or a planned successor? Who knows... Just thought I would pass it along. 20% off makes the price much easier to swallow.

Craigslist my friend. Bought my mint condition Moto X from someone for only $180 about two months ago that included a incase snap case(worth $30) and the Motorala skip(worth $15).
I was able to get $60 off yesterday.

Buy one from Republic Wireless for $299 every/any day.
This only works if their service works for you. And you only have 30 days to try it out. There is no call center and you are expected to use WiFi where it is available. And don't ding up the phone if you expect to get a full refund -- minus $10 shipping -- on it. (On a serious not, as opposed to most of my post here, their RMA contractor actually does look at returned phones under a lighted magnifier.)
Would you be willing to pay $5, $10, $25, or up to $40 a month for service though? Especially with no contract?
On top of that they are only rated number two in the PC Magazine poll for best carrier.
Maybe just skip it.

I received my LG phone back but it's locked and the disgruntled employee smashed the screen. I'm an note3 owner so I'm clueless to the LG Android platform. What are my best options here? I'm considering replacing the screen myself as I've done before on phones but to get into the phone and everything is not an option I assume.

Wow! What happened? Why did the screen get smashed? I would freaking say something.... you shouldn't have to fix it.
If need be, you can pop the back cover off with a guitar pick, or similar. Its just like a Samsung once you get inside. Remove the battery, remove the rear housing, remove the motherboard, vibrator, antennae, etc.

Untold? I fired the person for theft of fuel. Some cannot be trusted with a monitored fuel card I guess. Especially when the card is tied to a certain vehicle and they have to use a unique pin at the pump. My 160 out of pocket to repair a phone is chump change when it's a few hundred dollars of fuel

And there it is. Had this happen at my place of employment. Said person was ultimately fired for a 2$ charge. Giving employees G2s to use, nice boss... Lol
Maybe it"s a factor to some, but idc if it's 2 dollars or 2000, cant stand a thief. I can understand the not bothering part as well, if you ever recover the price it will have cost you even more. Some former employee's of mine thought being the boss makes you rich so you wont notice, both are usually idiotic ideas. Why they think i owe them but they owe me nothing is beyond me.

god, until that explanation, i sat here reading this thread as if you sent your phone back to LG to get something fixed, and then an LG employee was disgruntled, broke the screen, and sent it back to you like that.
i'm sure many others read the story the same way, dude..lol you have to be more descriptive..that's why people are all, "you shouldn't have to pay for this, make them pay for it!" as in, make LG pay for something they did.
but obviously now we understand the situation

I was thinking the same exact thing - except that it was a disgruntled Verizon employee who was the culprit.
Never put it past VZW to send out a warranty replacement with issues lol
Once I get this fixed I may use an upgrade from another line to use the g2 as a spare for myself. Are they locked bootloader like my note 3?
