Xperia V - Prepare internal storage error - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hello.. Having an issue with my Xperia..
My device seems to be unable to prepare the internal storage on boot.
I still can access sdcard0 via my Root File Manager, but whenever I start an app that needs the internal storage - for example SemcAlbum (but also while downloading something on Dolphin Browser) - an error popup appears, telling me that no storage is mounted.
I have tried to manually start the internal storage preparation in the Android settings menu, but whenever I click the button to do so, my Xperia simply freezes for a second and nothing happens or changes afterwards.
There is a temporary fix for my issue (fixing permissions in recovery), but on every reboot the problem appears again. :/
Any help is appreciated!

Update...
Booting into safe mode also tempoarily fixes the issue.
So, the problem must be caused by a user app.
I am using Xposed (however, this should also be active in safe mode), Greenify Pro (did not freeze any critical system apps afaik) and some other root requiring apps.
So.. What might cause my internal storage to be only "partially mounted" by my XV?

Did you try to delete all your init.d scripts ? (I know you're using several tweaks)

Yes.. Didn't help. :/
However, I managed to fix the issue by removing the app System Tuner.
Was using this one because of the sysctl tweaks. But it seems to cause this problem.
(And as well another problem where applying for example flight mode or auto brightness in settings wouldn't work)
Hell, I can tell you - finding this problem was freakin hard! Had to setup my phone three times until I found it..! >.<

[Q] Phone not saving settings

When I turn my phone off and back on, it seems some application revert to default settings. Eg. some of them lose the "don't ask me again" status of dialogs, some forget other statuses and some games even forget which level you completed.
I'm using 2.3.3 Official, not rooted (applied via Kies with no hacks). Anyway to fix this?
(I'm pretty sure all of these settings survived a reboot when I first got me phone with 2.1 installed)
Sounds like your database is corrupted, maybe due to lagfix not uninstalled correctly.
You will need to wipe internal sd card, factory reset and maybe reflash with repartition 512.pit

Try an Wipe and format the Sdcard! Make a Backup of your Data.

I'm a newbie and I have the same problem.
How do I backup the data? From Kies I only find options to backup the Contacts, Music, Photo and Videos. What about the apps and other data like SMS, call history, etc?
Really appreciate the help. Thanks.
If you have root use titanium backup.
If you dont have root use appbrain.

I've just instaled appbrain. It doesn't seem to have options to backup text messages, and call history. Any app can do that?
Thanks a million
There was a problem wit 2.2.1 because samsung mounted dbdata folder in the wrong place (to fix the lag) maybe its the same problem, still unfixed....
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Its the problem of dbdata. That problem was never fixed.
To reproduce the issue, you can install an app, uninstall and reinstall it. After that, settings wont be saved for that app.
If you install an app and never uninstall, then the app will work correctly.

ummm, sorry for the stupid question, but what's the difference between wipe and format the sdcard? I know I can't format the sdcard from the phone, but how about wipe? how do I do that?
Thanks.

[Q] Everything on my phone simply stopped working.

So I woke up this morning and found my phone acting weird. And after a couple of reboots and cursing my phone is acting like never before. EVERY single application is force closing and NOTHING will start or change. I am stuck without being able to turn on WiFI or disable air plane mode. I have not changed anything on my phone that I can think of that would to this. Just suddenly nothing works. I would like to wipe and factory reset but I can't backup my data.
Hope someone can help!

Yes I have. It works for some time then the problem slowly creeps back. Let's see how long it will work now.

I have to state that your thread title is misleading. Obviously, on your phone, at least battery and screen ARE in working condition...
i meant flash a stock rom with odin including pit file... do you experienced those problems?
if that is what you have done there is nothing i can help you, maybe some more experienced people here can help you
I only experience this with cm7.1. Now, yesterday I wiped my phone completely and decided to reinstall cm7.1 and i did. I even restored my apps via market to make sure my backups were not the cause. Now, just a moment ago my phone went nuts and a temporary cure is to wipe cache and fix permissions. Usually it starts with google apps (some framework fc) and then everything goes.

Next time your apps start force closing, and clearing cache, dalvik cache, and fixing permissions does not work, take a look at your /datadata folder and make sure there is space in there. If there isn't, any apps that write data there will force close. Keep that in mind.

The /datadata folder is essentially where apps keep some information. If you try to install an app without enough room there, it will say insufficient space; likewise, if it's really full and an app needs to write data there, it will force close. The size of this folder usually differs between ROMs.
I know Root Explorer shows the size and free space at the top for the folder you're in. I'm sure in other apps you could long-press the folder and there may be an option for folder details or something, but it's really dependent on the app.

Titianum Backup/ ROM Manager/Toolbox Probs

Whenever I try and backup my apps via T.B. it always gets stuck during the process. Yes i have USB Debugging enabled..Unknown Sources checked..and I am fully rooted. Also, whenever i try and fix permissions via ROM manager or ROM Toolbox..it also gets stuck during the process. Any ideas??
Try to fix permissions through cwm recovery
Delete cash and dalvik not data from cwm recovery
Delete cash of titanium and other apps from setting/apps
Make sure their is a space from apps to be backup
Try to install supersu (not superuser) from market and give titanium and others permissons in it

I have SuperSUPRO installed and updated...and I have wiped caches and permissions via cwm recovery. But still t.b. still freezes during a backup...the furthest i've gotten is 38%..and i have plenty of space avail
I have the same exact issue. I think we need to talk to the T.B. dev to look into the issue
Same problem here. Tried all the solutions mentioned above but didn't work. I also encounter the same issue with Link2SD and Root Explorer.
thank god I thought I was the only one..yay I'm not crazy

LogCat
Guys,
Can you attach a logcat while is trying to do a backup with Titanium?
I'm working with support on the issue, and the more logs we have from different devices, the easier it will be for them to figure out where the problem is and how to fix it
Thanks

I had this issue with tibu, not sure on a fix for the others. Get this app from market (above link). Update busybox and sqlite and then go into tibu/preferences. At the very bottom, go twoubleshooting and choose to force system busybox and sqlite. Restart app. See if that works.

[Q] Something wrong with Play Store or my phone?

Hey guys, I have a problem with installing apps on my LG (market and non-market ones).
It basically says when I install them that I have INSUFFICIENT STORAGE AVAILABLE (error); with non-market apps the same and that I need to remove some apps.
I have 6.43GB of Internal Memory left, and 19.6GB of External Memory. It's very strange because I CAN download some apps (even bigger than the one that I can't), but other ones got that error.
Have any ideas? Maybe someone with the same problem?
p.s. I have no ROM installed; I rooted it 2 months ago..

cuz lucky patcher is the issue actually, patches that it had done.
when it patches the app, it creates patched .odex, which you need to manually delete when you update/reinstall the app. i had the same issue, but unfortunately i lost track of the thread with the fix. if i find it again, i'll post it.
edit:
try this: "Troubleshooting->Remove fixes and backups (to update app)" in lucky patcher.
i manually removed these .odexes, but this should work too. good luck.
edit2:
found the manual solution: http://kacnje.blogspot.com/2012/10/android-error-insufficient-free-space.html
sretno!
Just launch Lucky Patcher, the program will delete those files automatically. It works for me.

****, you weren't supposed to delete all of them, just the one from the app that wasn't installing. you need those other .odex files for system to function properly ><. do you have any backup at all? if not, you'll probably need to flash kdz file again (good news is, i don't think you'll lose any of the data or settings).

Just search for it in the General section, I bet you will find what you need.
Shouldn't missing .odex files be rebuilt automatically on reboot? At least that's what's happening after a factory reset (which, amongst others, also deletes al .odex files), and after a wipe of the Dalvik cache (which does exactly that: delete all .odex files).
Being stuck at boot, as you write, try this:
Boot into recovery
Select to "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
Reboot
After the next boot, the entire Dalvik cache should be rebuilt. Of course this requires a custom recovery to be installed (stock recovery doesn't offer to "wipe dalvik cache"; here you had to do a factory-reset, which would also delete all your apps and data).
I used this method:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069723&highlight=flash+kdz+files
so I updated my firmware and now have 4.1.2 JB and everything works fine :victory:
thanks for helping! :good::good:
I wish there were some such flashing tools available for the P880 on Linux. But as much as I've google'd around, I could not find anything. Anybody tried the toolkit available here on XDA for the P990? Can it be used for the P880 as well?

apk wont intstall

I have been trying to install wifikill and the apk will not do anything after getting to the information screen that asks to confirm you want to install it. The cancel button works, but the install button does nothing. At first I thought it was the wifikill apk itself, but I downloaded a couple of different ones to try and they all do the same!
Unknown sources in already enabled, there are no warnings of any kind it just wont install anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Also anyone have any idea where the screenshots go, I found one that only half appeared and no more are showing up.
If you have a screen calibration app running, disable it first.
Also if you want to install a system app, they have to be manually pushed to /system/app directory.

Well that is just silly, I dont have a screen calibration app but that did make me think about any apps that would be running continuously like that and the only one is a battery meter thing I put on. I disabled it and I can install again - thanks for the tip
