Hi,
We're developing an app called Gmail Unread Counter : play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ellevsoft.gmailunreadfree
It's a very simple app(widget) that shows unread email counters.
One of my user says it doesn't update on GS4 Active. (When email arrives badge number doesn't update right away).
He's using with no custom ROM, not rooted, no launcher, no app management app(that kills other apps) running.
Could it be GS4 Active bug?
We don't have the device so could anyone help?
Thank you.
With [ROM][4.2.2][UAMI2][V2.0] ★I9295★ Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed (16/10/2013) it works:good:

Thank you bahrosuz.
We can now assume it's not the GS4 Active bug.
We appreciate your help.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on a 4.3 S4 rom so I could have fully functioning Galaxy Gear. I am currently running Sacs 4.3 v3. I am currently not receiving any notifications. I have read and searched many threads and forums. I have lock screen on so that is not an issue. I have all the notifications turned on under settings in Gear manager. I have factory reset my Gear multiple times. I have completely uninstalled gear manager and reinstalled. None of the changes have done anything for me and I am frankly getting irritated. On Sac v8 4.2 i was getting gmail and facebook alerts but even those are not functioning now. I was able to go into Samsung apps and download the latest version of Gear manager so at least the Samsung app store is recognizing 4.3. In short I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my Gear, the rom, or more than likely my self!!!!! The only thing I can think of is that one of the tweaks to the rom may have broken the passing of notifications to my Galaxy Gear. My next step Will be to install a stock rooted rom and see if that works, but haven't had the time and really really don't want to go with out Sacs Rom. Is there anything that needs to be left alone in a rom in-order to keep Gear function? Any help would be grateful.
Thanks.
I posted a message for sacs with this thread. Hopefully he will look into it.

Thanks.....I have been in contact with Sacs, he doesn't have a Gear for testing (wish I could just buy him one LOL), and I know he is so busy hate to bother him. I was hoping some one else that has a Gear and does rom development might be able to shed some light as to what may need to be added removed or left alone in order to have Gear compatibility in a rom. Again Im not even sure it is the rom. I will try to install stock this afternoon and see if that fixes things for me. This way I will know if it is the rom or something else.

Let me know if stock works. I too was waiting for 4.3. It was the only thing holding me back from buying it. I will wait to see.

I'm running Sacs 4.3 v3 on Sprint GS4, notifications work fine on my Gear. Have you tried complete wipe and reflashing 4.3? Just about to load v3.1, I'll let you know how that goes.

Okay I'm running Sac's 4.3 v3.1, with Gear Manager v1.4.102802 and Gear ROM ver. V700XXUAMII.
Tested these notifications and they work as expected:
-Incoming calls
-Missed call
-SMS
-Gmail
-Hangouts
Although I do disable these and use ATN Manager for the detailed Hangout and Gmail messages.

Great I will do a clean install and see what I can figure out......like I said I knew it was probably me. Does the weather work on yours?
Ok reinstalled sacs 4.3 v3 from scratch and installed samsung apps, then gear manager before restoring anything. Everything on the Gear works perfect.......so I deceided to test and see if it was the kernel. I installed KT's kernel and gear is still working. So in short I must be stupid because I am not sure what I did last time when I installed sacs 4.3. The only thing left to try is to reinstall my apps and see if that breaks the notifications. I will let you know how it goes.......Thanks for all your help.

Glad you got it figured out. When all else fails... just wipe and reinstall from scratch.
Hello,
I have a rooted RAZR i and I'd like to customize my statusbar.
However, I don't want a third-party app running all the time and I've tried a few Xposed modules but they don't work properly.
So is there any other way to do this? Please help.
Regards,

No, either you use xposed (works like a charm for the rest of us) or use a system mod. There are many available here.
I have an S4 and when I flashed the Infamous GE 4.4.2 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341936), I was not able to get most of the GearManager apps to work like:
-Text SMS Notifications
-Samsung Apps Appstore install
-SVoice
These did work though:
-Video/Camera Pictures
-Answer/Reject Calls
So I went back to a Stock Rooted 4.3 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545711) and everything worked.
Does anyone know how to get everything working on a custom KitKat ROM? Do you just need to install all the samsung gear apps/services on the custom ROM?
You need Touchwiz for everything to work
Does TouchWiz have to be default, or just installed?

Hello Everybody
I just bought a new HTC ONE M7 (International), and I rooted yesterday however I'm trying to delete stock applications with Root Uninstaller, and everything seems to be right until i restart my phone because they appear again.
Can anyone tell me how can delete those apps (Drive, Gmail, HTC Blink, etc)?
Thanks in advance

you will need an /system writable kernel but If you delete these files you'll not be able to apply future ota updates.

Just go into apps, all apps and disable what you don't want, this way you will keep the ota ability, but get rid of anything you don't want in the app draw

Heres your answer
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-to-turn-off-blinkfeed
you can also (if your rooted) download xposed installer, and then (depending on your sense version), download sense 5 toolbox or sense 6 toolbox, im sure the option to disable blinkfeed is in there too somewhere.

Hey y'all
I found a link this morning for the new Android 5.0 leaked Google apps: http://http://phandroid.com/2014/10/20/check-out-the-new-messenger-google-play-music-and-more-leaked-android-5-0-lollipop/
I've simply installed the Messaging apk and it is working really well on my Rooted AT&T Note 3.
I attempted to install the new Gmail app, but I could not get it to work. I was getting FCs and had to jump back to the current Gmail.
Has anyone been able to get the Gmail apk to work?
UPDATE,
I've posted this in the "Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Q&A forum", and there are a handful of people that have the New Gmail apk running just fine on their devices (other carriers/ non-stock ROMs).
I'm thinking that maybe it has something to do with Stock Rooted Touchwiz...

I may be wrong on this but normally you would need to install the new market apk's in system first so that the market framework is correct.
make sure you backup first!
