you will need an /system writable kernel but If you delete these files you'll not be able to apply future ota updates.

Just go into apps, all apps and disable what you don't want, this way you will keep the ota ability, but get rid of anything you don't want in the app draw

Heres your answer
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-to-turn-off-blinkfeed
you can also (if your rooted) download xposed installer, and then (depending on your sense version), download sense 5 toolbox or sense 6 toolbox, im sure the option to disable blinkfeed is in there too somewhere.

app compatibility

Hello,
I have played a bit with a GS4 in a store and found out that the stock calendar app (SPlanner it is called I think) was great. Hence, is it possible to download this app and install it on my HTC One with stock ROM ? Or are the apps only compatible with Galaxy S4 ?
thank you

From what I've seen all the Sx (Snote, Splanner, Setc.) apps are only compatible with samsung devices. Wouldn't hurt to try though.
Well i found an apk but it says it failed to install on my hTC One.... How is this possible ?

The majority of the vendor specific apps rely very heavily on the framework that the vendors install on their ROMs. That's why you can't just pull out individual apps very easily.
Ok undersood thank you. now, does anyone know what i could do to instal this specific SPlanner app (the S4 calendar app) on my Htc One ?
Thankyou very much
Buddy, you must ask this question to HTC one thread -> here
Ok sorry. I'll just go down and get the S4 lol !

I installed the app, but when I give "Open SideBar" I exit the application and does nothing.
The phone is not rooted, not deleted applications, it may be because not rooted

Works flawless here, read the thread carefully. Anyway doesn't make sense to use it on our "tiny" screen, much better on large screens
P.S: Almost forgot, of course you need to be rooted to install xposed framework & the modules Otherwise no "sugar" for you:laugh:

[Q] Predictive Dialer not working

Hi everybody,
This is my 1st thread. After try to find a solution from this forum, I decide to post my question here. Currently using Xperia V 4.3 .210 custom ROM from Steve Boss. My predictive dialer not working for a 2nd time after flash this ROM. At 1st, I believe I made a mistake to uninstall a few apk files in system app folder. I can't remember what apk file did I delete. Then, I decide to re-flash my ROM and the predictive dialer working again. I start uninstalling unwanted apps again but this time I'm doing it very carefully. Every apps deleted, I'll check this feature whether it affected or not. After finish uninstalling all unwanted app from my phone, I test again if predictive dialer stop working or not. Everything is okay.
But after a few days later, today I notice this feature not working again. Hopefully somebody can assist me how to make it working again without flash a ROM. Thank you.

1. Re-install sonyericsson.android.smartsearch.apk or Smartsearch.apk from a back-up.
or
2. Use EXDialer from the Play Store. It doesn't need Smart Search (at least not until 4.2, I can't say for 4.3 but I don't know why it wouldn't be the same).

Thank you so much bro. Yes I uninstalled the smartsearch apk without knowing it also relate to contact search. I always thought it is only for google internet searching. Just now, I opt to try Exdialer. After a few second, I can notice this app much faster than stock app. Stock app will take maybe 1 second to open. Thank so much for your help.

[APP] Google Assistant on HTC One M8!

Ever wondered how to get the new Google Assistant on your HTC One M8? Here is the ultimate answer.
What you need:
- A rooted device
- Custom ROM (Not compulsory but suggested)
- Xposed Installed (Guides online or follow the official XDA thread)
- Xposed App
Instructions:
- Go to Xposed app > 'Downloads'
- Search for Android N-ify' or just 'N-ify'
- Download and activate the module
- Congrats! You have Google Assistant, launch as normal. :fingers-crossed::laugh:
Any questions? PM me or quote me, pretty active. :good:
You forgot about Google App (Beta) and the right "n-ify" apk is not on the xposed app, you need to install manually.

here's the google+ post I followed, https://plus.google.com/+MaxRumpfAliasMaxr1998/posts/P6ehUoPNp54
basically download N-ify from https://ci.paphonb.xyz/jenkins/job/AndroidN-ify/
and google search 6.6.14.21 from http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...gle-app-6-6-14-21-arm-2-android-apk-download/
and the latest version of xposed
I will point out though that it crapped out on me not long after i started messing with the header settings in N-ify and I had to remove xposed to get my phone working again

Tried the steps, but still facing that softbrick thingy. For some reason, if I install other than from xpose app, it goes to that softbrick.
Currently using exposed v86. Not sure if that's what you mean by "latest". Would want to update to the later version, but I read that I need Magisk? I can't do that because I haven't unlock my bootloader yet.

just disable them. Disabling is as good as uninstalling, if saving 30mb of space is not your concern.
