No one at all know of it?
I'm getting bored waiting for O2 in the UK for the Android 4.2.2 update, I have rooted. I don't want to put a custom ROM on it though, I just want over the air updates straight from HTC and not my carrier.
Thanks!

Hello I'm wondering if there are any negative effects from from running current kit kat ROMs with this firmware? It is my friends phone and he is on the 3 network but doesn't want to s-off so that is not an option. Thank you.

I'm running kit kat with boot 1.55. Don't have any issues. Firmware flashing are usually recommended but not mandatory for most of the ROMs. For career specific thing, check out the appropriate ROM..
All the best...

Cool, thanks.
No it won't cause harm, it just might not function as well as it could.

Unfortunately you will have to use HTC Dev to unlock and root to use rumrunner. I haven't seen any other way but try looking for a way to root without unlocking.

1) The warranty isn't voided by unlocking.
2) You can unlock via HTC Dev then S-OFF using Rumrunner and change everything back to stock if needs be... HTC will never know

They shouldn't but don't take my word for it! I remember reading something like that.
When I had a One X I unlocked it via HTC dev and I could hand it in for warranty. (Wouldn't turn on).
On the other hand rumrunner shouldn't alert HTC that your device has been unlocked.
