i used the Xperia stock launcher of my Z1 a few times and I find it to be limiting. That is why switched to Nova, but I want to retain the opaque/transparent notification bar of the stock launcher.
How can I solve this?

I think we have to wait next Nova Launcher update...the same we did with Xperia Z...

That applies to the Xperia Z and not for the Z1. We still need to wait for an update from the developers.
It works very well on my Xperia ZL

I tried several launchers in last 2 days, no one has transparent status and soft bottoms bars. It is only on stock laucher. I bought a beautiful KitKat theme from market, but because of those black lines in launcher can`t use it every day.
I am using RomAur 3.3 with Nova launcher 2.3 beta and the status bar is transparent. As of RomAur 3.3 it works.

Just installed Nova launcher v.2.3b3, the bar is not transparent. I don't know how Monx did that.

Not transparent with monxdified here either, but you mean auras76 (from RomAur rom) I guess?
I actually just tried flashing the file supplied by auras76 in his rom thread:

I flashed this on the monxdified rom and it seems to work fine! I now have transparent task/statusbars Please make a backup before trying this, I have not extensively tested it but it boots fine and things look ok to me.

I hope someone brings transparent status bar and softkey's soon, rooted my Z1 today hoping to get transparent status bar with Nova beta 2.3, but no joy....someone said to try gravitybox but from what I've seen it means flashing stuff and I would rather not.

Lol, thats bacuase its modded.....and why we dont have sony widgets, but the OP has said they are coming soon....(I hope)
Nice application, but we can't to add it a many widget like Notes and Weather.
Widgets now works fine, also we have option to change the color on text of Sony widgets.
In thread have and new version 2.3.5.

For me, top contacts work: connect to account, dial number, manage contact... No FC.

Is this better than the one we have in our Jelly Bean (Xperia V) and why so?
With v2.0.5b installed in ICS 3.212, bubble showing the number of unread sms (on the icon app) does not appear.
With v2.0.4 it's OK
Does anybody still had the v2.0.4 ?
I still don't like the launcher, some icon pictures look very ugly, even the stock icons in the dock have a worse revolution than with stock launcher, look at chrome icon in the dock, it's like it is too big... looks bad!

transition animation not smooth
With this launcher the transition animation (the animiation when a app is starting) is not smooth. With stock launcher it's smooth.

You can choose transparent notification bar in Nova launcher settings. It's inbuilt to Nova.

Running 14.1.G.1.534 with root....

Not sure mate. I have an s4 and nova free version. I have checked transparent notification in settings and it works here. Try contacting the developer.

It wont work unless the rom API supports it. Apparently the xperia interface doesnt, so it wont work.

I can confirm, the navigation bar is transparent after converting Nova to System Apps via Titanium Backup.
Hey. I have found the perfect app to hide the soft key. You only have to swipe your finger up at the bottom of your screen and they show up.
Its called GMD auto hide soft key. I have the pro version and its pretty perfect.

Its hidden when you are not using it and when you swipe from the bottom the softkeys appears again.

You can set it up so that if you press a softkey they disappear. Also as soon as the screen is touched they disappear.
I'm running cyanogenmod so have the option to use pie , but IMO this app is so much better

Should be yes. And if you're rooted, its better to install gravitybox and enable pie when expanded desktop is enabled. So when you want to play games, enable expanded desktop and you have a fullscreen and pie to navigate and when you wanna use back your nav bar, just disable expanded desktop back. To me this method is better than using this auto hide navbar.

do u have this statusbar transparency issue as well .. in the mod thread dev says that it is due to customized roms ..
tried to reinstall clear data nothing works except disabling module ..with it on it says gb system framework stopped working
Seems fine to me. Adjusting sliders doesn't cause fc.

BTW, is there a mod or xposed module for kitkat, working in Xperia Z1 stock rom, that acrivates the animations like the ones in AOSP roms? I am looking for a Full screen caller mod for KK too, and a systemUi mod that lets the quick button bar, look like the google original.

Trying to theme the GEL launcher but so far anything that i've used hasn't worked, i'm not interested in downloadable launchers like Apex and Nova (both of which i've previously bought the premium versions of) I like the minimalistic look of the GEL launcher and i've also tried Xgels xposed module, which has a premium version to alter icons, but i'm a little reluctant to buy something which allows the use of free features! I mean theres nothing to stop the themer making you pay too, so you pay twice?
If anyone has any ideas how to theme the GEL launcher i'd be glad to hear it, many thanks.

Thats not the official launcher m8, i'd prefer to use the actual Google experience launcher, it's perfect and stable, all i want is an icon pack, seems that the themes that are available for the nexus 5 are for other lauchers like apex and nova, i've had enough of them and want to stick with GEL.
For icons u can use Unicons and Xposed
And if Ur on AOSP and Having Theme Engine then the themes will work properly with GEL
