If you are planning to buy a ATT phones, wait till Friday all the phones will be at 50% discount including the TILT.
was announced on the RADIO.
More info anyone???
Can anyone provide more info (certain markets, or nationwide?)... or confirm this?
ATT 50% off Blackfriday
This sale is pretty much limited to CA, NV, ID, AZ, NM, UT, HI, OR, WA, CO. You get 50% off on almost any phone (no Iphone or Go Phones included). You however have to be eligible for an upgrade or new line of service. It seems to be a pretty good deal if you are looking to get the tilt or blackberry.
you can check it out here

i believe at&t has a 30 day price match offer that includes them dropping their own prices, so you should be able to get the difference refunded if your in one of those states.

I await your findings. I live in AZ and I just bought my Tilt like 3 weeks ago so I fall in the 30 days like you
Before I bought mine I asked them if by some chance the Tilt went on sale for cheaper than I got it for (399.99) would they price match. They assured me that it would not go on sale so I insisted the "what if". They agreed that if it did go on sale by some weird chance (like black friday weekend) then they would do a price match.
Still I'm curious what you find out.
Thanks!
TILT price match
Hi Guys!
I got ordered my tilt on 8th and got it on 12th. I think i will be eligible for Price match. I got it on a forced upgrade for 592 USD with tax. Hope i can save some money on it.
Please post your opinions and findings..

I live in St. Louis, MO area, although i'm not on one of those states listed, i bought my phone about 2 weeks ago from an At&t store, not a an authorized dealer and actually store by at&t and that was the first thing i asked my rep was what if the price in it drops the day after Thanksgiving will they offer me that, and she said yes, they have a 30 day price match, also i told them about the amazon.com offer of 200bux plus a 25.00 rebate for a total of 175 for the phone w/a 2 year contract, and they did a pretty close offer of 250.00 and i dont have to pay the 36.00 activation fee, so basically i paid 214 2 weeks ago for it, sure the amazon deal is cheaper, but the in person service is something i dont mind paying a little more for incase there's a mess up w/something i can go back to the store, which is only 5 minutes from me and talk to someone in person and get everything right.
So I just got back from the AT&T store and they gave me an additional $150 credit to my bill since I puchased the phone less than 30 days ago!
Anyone that has purchased their AT&T Tilt less than 30 days ago needs to contact their original point of puchase today and tomorrow only and they will recieve a 50% credit to thier purchase!
SCORE!
Wonder how that works if you bought it from the AT&T web site...
Call customer service. They might have to do a return repurchase maneuver.
Thats what the AT&T rep told me when I called in before visiting my local store where I originally purchased the unit.
What if you bought it from a retailer like CompUSA or from a website like Newegg? Will they still offer you a discount on it or do the retailers have to do that?
I spoke to an ATT rep who told me that if I go into any ATT owned store I can redeem the credit. I hope that's true because I bought the phone on my parent's side of town - hours away.
150$ Refund!!!
I called att sales today and they refunded my credit card 150$ however I didnt qualify for the 100$ mail in refund though.

what did you say to them?!
I went down to the ATT store I bought mine from and I didn't qualify for the 50% off because-
a) I didn't have the data plan added on my phone (39.99 $/month)
I would have qualified if I just added the data plan on for that month BUT it would have screwed up my super mega ultra ridiculously low plan that already has unlimited internet access.
Was anyone able to pull off the half off without having the pda connect plan that is 39.99? If so, can you PM me the phone number of the ATT store so I can call them and see if they will credit me?
AT&T will charge me $200 for a Tilt. I can sign up for AT&T service and get it for FREE at LetsTalk.com. Is there any reason NOT to purchase at LetsTalk. Do I get the same warranty, 30 day trial, AT&T tech support, swap out if phone goes bad??
If you are buying AT&T service then Yes you will get tech support regardless of where you purchased it from. Did you read online reviews on LetsTalk. I would type in Letstalk reviews and google and read their reputation.
I'm not sure if you'll get the 30 days. Did you read the fine print?
I have purchased phones from let's talk before and was satisfied. There was an argument over whether or not we made a one or two year contract but that was settled. But for the ridiculous price reduction you can get on that site, I would say it is prob worth it. I am pretty sure there is no 30 day trial though...
As of right now, you can also choose to not add a data plan, which is definitely a plus in my opinion.
Hope this helps
Get it from Let's Talk. There is no point in spending more money for the same exact thing. I just bought my Tilt from letstalk about 3 weeks ago. I'm satisfied. The only thing to consider is they charged me taxes (website said to CA and TX residents only) based on it's actual value which came out to be about $37. If you'd like, I can send you a "Refer a Friend" email and it says we should both get $25 from your order.
Also, FYI for anyone else interested. My work is part of the ATT premier and I qualify for a discount. I've added my number and the website did says I was accepted (have to wait 2 billing cycles to verify). Some people were concerned if they bought from Letstalk.com they would not qualify for their works discount. So far for me it looks good.
I've bought phones from letstalk and never had a problem but I never tried to retrun anything.
I did try buying a Tilt from Newegg with AT&T service, AT&T didn't work at my house so I returned it, they refunded me the money for the handset but didn't cancel the account. I found this out when I got my second bill, after 30 days. AT&T was awsome allowing me to pay just what I used and not charging me an ETF but unless you know if it will work where you want it i would stick with the local AT&T store.
I saved a few dollars by buying from Newegg but it could have been a costly mistake.
Hey guys just a heads up. I was over in the Skyrocket forums and saw some people calling up customer service to get credits put on thier bill for the $100 price different between LTE markets and non-LTE markets. So I decided to try while I didn't get the full $100 credit I ended up getting $75 bill credit. Mind you I only originally paid $125 for mine as I was paying the price difference between the Atrix and the Vivid(used my friends upgrade and gave him my Atrix).

I upgraded the same way as you. How did you get that to work calling in since you didn't purchase it on your account?
I guess they just looked at my account and saw a Vivid and seeing as it was a non-COR store they couldn't look up a reciept.
What did you tell them? I called and they said they don't do price matching against the store. I guess I could tell them I bought it online, but I'm pretty sure they can check that I bought it in-store.

I told them that I find the practice of having 2 different prices on a device depending on where you are located is bunk. I could seriously just drop my service and go elsewhere...I'd rather pay the cancelation fee and move my family and friends with me. The NYC market is seriously only an hour away so I asked for the difference in a bill credit as my store was a dealer and would not help me out.
I got $50 credit only, but I guess is better than nothing . I told them I drove to California today and my friend got exactly the same phone this morning for $99. I kinda played fool and I told them that "even right now when I check online (presumably to be in California still) I see $99. How is possible they already discounted the device, not even after a week". They told me that zip/area code thing (that I've already knew about of course) but in the end he gave me $50 credit towards my account . I guess it also depends who rep you're talking to, got lucky maybe, talked to a guy.

I went to the AT&T store where I picked up my Vivid. They wouldn't give me the $100 difference, but they gave me $100 in accessories, so better than nothing.
This is just my experience, this is very YMMV (your mileage may vary) and depends on the rep you get and how you treat them/what you say.
I was upset that amazon was taking 2-3 weeks to get me my phone. I called sprint telesales and played dumb. I asked the cost and of course it was 249.99. I told them that I have seen phones priced at 199.99 and it seemed to me like i was paying for the 149.99 discount which was "unfair and disappointing* as many of us were complaining about. Played the loyal customer card, She talked to supervisor and they over rided the price. Had to endure listening to those terms and now the phone should be here in 3-4 days instead of weeks. With my triple a discount, it comes to 199,99 + 12 shipping + tax, around 220. However no activation fee (thanks to triple a). If your ordering through a third party and not happy, i would suggest trying this out.
If it doesn't work, try again. You can call in and say you got cut off but they were in the process of applying the $50 discount and you didn't get the customer service number for your ticket. You could try for even more off but odds are it won't work.
Good Luck!
I got mine at 199.99 at Sprint Stores, told them if they dont give me the phone for the promo of 150.00 i will go to another company, they told me that they could offer me for 199.99. So i got it
Just got off the phone. Asked politely and they agreed! Got it for $199 + tax + $12 shipping.
Hoping to get it soon!

What number do you use to get to telesales? I'm getting a bit pessimistic about my Costco preorder shipping friday. If I order tonight from telesales, it should ship tomorrow and there's a good chance I have it Friday or Saturday.
Also, what's this triple account you mention in order to get the activation waived?
Thanks!
Got mine at the store for $199. The rep wanted to sell accessories so bad that he dropped the price of the phone to buy a spare Battery and charger for my wife's note 2.

This is a fresh thread as this issue was getting lost in the UK thread.
CPW Offered £375 trade in but if you had a note 8, they offered an additional £200 trading making it £575 (Math good huh?!).
This made the largest note 9 512mb an affordable £524. An attractive proposition to many. Myself included. I certainly would NOT have upgraded to the note 9 from the note 8 based on the lower offer as there is little differentiator between the 2 phones. This was clearly the best deal available pre order.
However many note 9 buyers who have returned their note 8 are not receiving £575 only to be offered £375, or for those who took a screen shot of the extra £200 being offered £530.
Not sure what CPW are playing at but this is an issue where I'm sure trading standards might be interested and of course the media if this isn't resolved swiftly. In my mind this is a break in contract and loses the faith of CPW customers.
Stories here please.

Just received £530 as predicted even though the trade in offered £375 plus £200. I have raised a complaint via the online email form. I was told that the screen shot I sent shows I was offered £375 and that my case will be raised with their Trade In team. I'll chase again today. Last phone I buy from the CPW group.
Managed to avoid this trouble but hoping my experience adds to the knowledge base:
I was quoted £575 total online trade in for my Note8. Bought the Note9 online, delivered to store and collected - no problems so far.
A few days later I received the pathetic jiffy bag to send the Note8 back in. Immediately got cold feet and made inquiries with CPW web chat and telephone contact center. Long story short was that to get the full £575 I had to post it back to them but a store manager may authorise the return through the store.
I went to store and followed the advice of the web chat team - ask for the trade in to be accepted in store. The store manager refused so I then said 'here, have this Note9 back as I want an immediate refund'. This was done in a few minutes and I walked away with my Note8 unmolested.
On Thursday 30th Aug I went to another CPW store and asked for a trade in against the 512gb Note9. They immediately offered £550 off the Note9 and would order one in. Received it next day and a happy outcome for me.
Hi - thanks for starting this thread as its useful to keep a track of issues with CPW!
I also pre-ordered with CPW and bought a sim free phone with them - i just spoke to their customer service team who told me that sim-free purchases are not eligible for the additional £200 trade in!! Has anyone experienced this too? Luckily i've screenshotted my trade in so will have to raise a formal complaint if they dont resolve but just wanted to make those on this forum aware that the customer service team arent quite sure of the facts.
On a separate note, have those that ordered sim-free got their wireless charger yet? I still havent got mine and they wont tell me if its been dispatched yet.
The customer service at CPW is awful and I wish i'd just bought through Samsung..... the only plus is that the phone is amazing (I just moved across from the iphone!) and wish i'd moved across sooner!

Hi all. I went into my local CPW in Burton on Trent yesterday and traded in my Note 8 and received £550.00. I paid £349.00 for the outright purchase of the Note 9 and walked out with it within 30 mins. My Note 8 had to be tested and reset

me too. Idiots.
Both my online and in store Note9 purchases with £200 extra trade in were on sim free.
Sad to say that you can see why high street retail chains are closing down. CPW and others just can't operate a digital and bricks and mortar businesses as a unified business model. All very sad.
Now they've said whatever the trade in team offer (? what like £575 as advertised!) the social media team will bring it up to value offered, so long as the phone was working there shouldn't be a problem. However its now Tuesday and I logged this on Saturday (sent the phone 8 days earlier)....
JAH You are right about firms failing. I wonder how this crew ever stay afloat sometimes.
My problem with CPW was I ordered my N9 upgrade on the phone and was told I could get an extra £200 on top of the £250 for my S8+. I clarified several times that I could take it to the store for the trade-in. I then was told it was only available for online or in store upgrades and not on the phone! So after complaining and having my telephone call listened to it was agreed I could take it to the store for £450.
Today I go to the store to be told my S8+ has screen burn and they will knock £120 off!! So I decided I'll try taking it to Samsung for an in warranty repair of the screen before going back to CPW!!
12 days (10 working days) into my phone being received by CPW and not a sniff of payment yet. Their website says payment will be made in 3 days of receipt. Appreciating they may have an influx taking longer, 12 days is taking the p....
They been informed of my displeasure this morning.
Still advertising the £200 extra deal. Anyone wants to check the terms click here:
https://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/trade-in.html
Bought mine in store in Doncaster. Fab service and no hassle at all. Got full value plus the extra £200 for my S8+ and even got to keep it until the Note 9 arrived. Picked my new Note up at 9.15 on release day.
Service couldn't have been better. Top marks to Jenna and Nat who clearly knew what they were doing.
I'm still waiting to see what I get for my trade in. They received the phone last friday, so hopefully any time now they will send me the money. I have a screenshot/ chat exert from their guy that i'll send if it goes wrong.
I wonder how much money is wasted by CPW with dealing with customers to rectify problems and mistakes of their own making. Members here could run a better operation.

the stores are better than online. Online is just the pits. Piss up in a brewery comes to mind...
Should have bought in store.
Hi guys,
I did a similar thing earlier this year with my other half's Galaxy S9. I traded in a Galaxy S7 and they were offering an additional £100 at the time. I received payment for the value of the S7 then a few days later the extra £100 was paid in separately. I traded in a Note 8 this time for the Note 9. I phoned them up and they said it was £350 so I said that I was offered £375 + £200, the lady put me on hold and then took my card details and said it will be done in separate transactions, £25 then £350 then the additional £200 after that. I've got a screenshot of the deal £375 and another one with the extra £200 with my order number so they can't argue otherwise.
Edit:
The lady said that they've had a few calls about this issue today and that it has been escalated so I think it's just a mistake or at least I hope it is.
Just my 2p worth;
I went into store and pre-ordered the Note 8, traded a Note 8 I paid £370 for and got the £575 knocked off the Note 9 straight away so I had £324 to pay towards. I got the Note 9 and the wireless charger delivered to my house on release day but I ended up selling the Note 9 on eBay as I didn't realize CPW didn't do the Dual sim version. Staff at the Trafford store were a complete shower of ****e though when I went in with a query about the sims. I used to work at carphone back when I was 17/18 (them were the days!) but the customer service now is absolutely shocking and customer support over the phone is even worse!
I would never purchase anything high value from CPW, in fact I cant see any good reason to purchase anything off them full stop, amazon ftw.
My mate purchased one online with CPW and has recently sent his Note 8 to the trade in center in Newark UK, it arrived yesterday and even though he had it reserved at £375 + £200 they have told him it is valued at £350 (the today price, not holding the price it was reserved at), after some arguing they have raised £25 to his bank (supposedly, if that ever shows up) and said that the £350 will be paid in a few days and the £200 additional will follow after "3/5 days" (he isn't holding out much hope, sounds like a cop out, but the phone calls are recorded supposedly they have made notes on the system). I will report back once all is paid.
No signs of the wireless charger on the online order btw, they told him this arrived 14 days after the phone to ensure the phone isn't returned (sounds like another CPW lie)
Good luck guys
