[Q] Trying To Root (Installation Aborted) Error - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, whenever I root my phone form the apply update, it says E:Error In /tmp/sideload/package.zip Installation Aborted.
My Kernel version is 2.3.35.7 [email protected]#1
I got my zip from hubix so its probably legit.
Can you please help me? Thanks a lot

usually the installation aborted failure is caused by the file. download the file again and try it again..

Which rom are you using?

Not working
Thx for all the posts, they are appreciated. However, every step ive tried comes to failure. I have deleted the zip file and replaced it with the one from the link. I even formatted my ad card but no luck. I dont know whats happening. I can see the root.zip but there are other files as .root.zip.
I dont know what they are.
Btw, I dont have a rom, I thought roms are only accessible by rooted phones?
Kind Regards

no no no... You have a rom, a Stock rom
I need to know what Android version it has so go setting >>> about the phone and check it ( 2.3.4, 2.3.6...)
I would like to know too which rom version you have XWKTM, XWKTR (e.g.)... the lastest firmwares haven't go enough internal space in /system to push superuser.apk and busybox files but we can solve it

hey i wanna ask that is there any problem if task (kies.exe, etc) are killed or not?????
i tried 2-3 times all i got is that the phone is stuck on the boot loop... please suggest something coz i had paid enough to restore my phone
Dude download Odin v1.85 that would be best.... Bring your phone to download mode(volume down + menu+ power button). Now run Odin and connect ur phone, Odin will detect your phone. Now take the cf root file and put it in the PDA and just press start. At finish Odin will make the column green and pass would be written on it.
Congrats ur phone is rooted

Actually flashing jw4 just changes your kernel from jvb to jw4. And it is rooted so works by the way there is.no cf root for jvb.

From Omni ROM thread:
Installation
Download the ROM from the link below
Download gapps for 4.3 on http://goo.im/gapps
Put the zip files on your SDCard
Reboot on Recovery
Wipe Data / Factory Reset
Select "Install the Zip from External Storage"
Choose Omni zip file
Choose GApps zip file
Reboot to system
It can be installed from stock recovery.
But after that, if you want to go back to stock you will need to flash stock firmware with Odin. You have guide for Odin in Developer section of our forum.
P.S. Oh, you are on GB still. I will post you guide to go to JB first.
