Wifi issue - Nexus 7 General

Hi all,
I have been facing an issue with the n7. Regardless of the ROM (4.3.x) that I'm on, the bloody wifi seems to broken. Once I disable the wifi reenabling it is a pain and in many cases it does not. I have to reboot or switch off the device and even then it won't start. Any ideas how to solve the issue. It has been appearing on all 4.3 Android based ROMs
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

It's a software issue I had since upgrading to 4.3 the only way I could get it working was to reset the router.
I've since installed CM10.2 which is based on 4.3 and now have no issues

[Q] Galaxy Note GT-N7000: Wi-Fi disconnects in Rocket ROM V12 ICS 4.0.4

Hi All,
I am using galaxy note with ICS 4.0.4 and using Rocket Rom V12 currently. I am facing a strange issue in which wi-fi disconnects in regular interval. This interval is not fixed. Even while using internet, Wi-fi gets disconnected. I have checked wifi settings as well where in I have kept wi-fi to be always available.
Does anybody have idea of what could be the cause of this problem???
Thanks & Regards,
Neeraj Tati.
Try reconfiguring your wireless router to broadcast only 11b/g instead of 11b/g/n. This solved a similar issue I had, only it was on Rocket ROM v11. I suppose buying a new router could have also helped but I didn't feel like buying routers so I tried anything possible.

Glad to be of help, that issue drove me crazy and there were no useful suggestions anywhere on the net.
Also, I was thinking that another shrun solution could be to flash hydracore 4.3 which is used in v11 instead of notecore 14 which comes with RR v12.
So i have got one more alternative to get rid of this problem.
Ur previous one resolved d prob.. So will stick to that as of now.
Will try it in future if needed.
Well thanks again. Keep it up. Have a nice day.

[Q] Wireless Problems (GB 2.3.4)

Hi and thanks for reading this. I have a problem with my wireless connections and I will do all my best to describe it.
phone without root.
-----------------------------------
I have made a factory reset.
While configuration, I selected my wireless network, and the connection was succesfull.
After some downloads I have disconnected my phone from wireless.
After a while I have tried to connect again to my wireless but the phone keep saying "disconnected".
I have made some research and someone says that rooting phone will solve this problem.
I have rooted my phone.
phone with root
-----------------------------------
While configuration, I selected my wireless network, and the connection was succesfull.
After some downloads I have disconnected my phone from wireless.
After a while I have tried to connect again to my wireless and the connection was succesfull again.
The connection is very lazy, but it working.
I have tried to connect to other wireless networks but the phone keep saying "connecting - disconnected".
Every time when I try my wireless network the phone connects but with other networks doesn't.
-----------------------------------
This is how my phone acts with wireless. I have tried every trick with access point and so on, but nothing works. Can someone help me to solve this issue? I understand that is a software problem, and I guess it is, because my phone read any wireless network available but he connect only to the network selected while configuration. I wanna try to downgrade the phone to froyo but I want some advices if is good or bad. Also maybe an update will solve the problem, but which is the last software version? I have 2.3.4 V20G. If it is one, it will support root?
PS: I am very sorry for my english and I hope that you will understand what I want to say.
Thanks again.
I had same problem with one of my phones. It turned out to be incompatible router and phone. Configure your router to g range not n range. This should fix it.

My rooter is configurate with 11/b/g/n mixed mode and I thing this is what you wanna say. If not, please be more specific. It is possible to be a hardware problem?
Do you have some experience with flashing FROYO to lg P970? What you advice me?
Thanks for your time.
Yes that is what I want to say. Change it to g only on router. If that doesn't work try n only. Failing that try different make router.
It is unlikely to be your phone software don't worry about rooting. I had similar problem with my gt540. Older routers don't work well with new phones.

I will try this and i will come with a reply. I found another solution. To update gingerbread to 2.3.7. The developers said that they fixed this bugs, with wlan and gps.

Ok here I am after flashing GB 2.3.7. The system if self seems to be fine, but the GUI interface is very ugly comparing with 2.3.4. The Touch seems to be a little improved but I think is the only better thing. With my problem regarding Wireless it still doesn't connect properly, and I guess the only explanation is the incompatibility with my wireless rooter.
Can you give me a tutorial to install that roms?
Thanks for all your time man.

Why don't you set your router to g range only? Do u not have that option on the router?
Also you might want to try cici Rom v 3. That is 2. 3. 7
Just check ob development section for the thread.

I have set it to g only but my problem is still there. The wireless connection is very slow. Man I have installed the cm7 like i said, but for some reason I have change it back to 2.3.4 stock rom. After i root the phone, when i am try to install something frim market my phone reboot. This hasnt happening before upgrading to cm7. Why is happening this? This 2.3.7 affect the downgrade?

If you still have issues try newer rooter. This worked for me. But so did setting old router to g range. Failing this it might be hardware issue. But again I think it's unlikely. Also do format system, data, and cache.

I will try tonight with the leem rom and tommorow morning u will post the result.

One last thing make sure your router is on channel 1. And retry router on g range or n range only. Best of luck.

HTC desire c stuck in landscape

Hi
I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with this. I have the desire c (branded to 3 and rooted) it has worked great for awhile but recently the screen keeps going into landscape and getting stuck there (even when holding it up right) I've tried turning auto rotate off but it still happens usually a restart fixes it for awhile but then it starts again. I found a app on the market that can force it back into portrait but then I can't make some apps full screen like YouTube. I've tried a factory reset a few times both through settings and by pushing power and volume up but not long after it starts happening again.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Thanks.

Maybe you should backup your current rom, and then install a custom one maybe some files relating to the sensors could be corrupt.
Thanks i may try using a generic rom to see if it fixes it. What's the best way to back up my current rom? Gonna need to go back to it if I have to sent it off to get fixed.

Well I tried nameless Rom but it didn't fix it so looks like I'm gonna have to send my phone off for repair

Try calibrating your sensors.

Thanks I tried that but no luck the odd thing is the sensor seems to work cause I can play that game where you control the ball with the sensor. But its started doing other stuff now like it keeps turning the screen on on its own and putting phone on loud speaker and pausing music etc.

Weird... The game works, but the accelorometer doesn't work at other places

My wife's Desire C has the same problem. Stuck in landscape most of the time. Screen turning on, phonecalls sometimes suddently go to speaker. Sensors are working fine if you ask me.
I was trying to root it when I read this topic, I still might try a custom rom though.
Glad I'm not the only one who had this problem. Maybe there's a fault with some of the handsets or something.
I gave up and sent mine off for repair now.

Heyyy!!! Did u find any solution for your problem. My phone is also starting to behave in the same way....
I think I found the solution. It seems like the problem is with HTC's ROM based on ICS 4.0 and 4.0.4. I tried just about any ROM based on ICS (stock and custom) with any kernel combination and the problem repeats itself.
Flashed CM 10.1 and the problem is gone.

4.2 wifi issues. Please help!

Hey all,
I recently flashed the final cyanogenmod democracy rom onto my galaxy ace, and am enjoying it very much. However, just yesterday, a wifi issue developed. Now i can turn on wifi, but it can't detect any networks. Fortunately, the packet data still works. If anyone has any solutions for this, please tell me!

How do you find 4.2.2

Hi guys,
I've been reading up on some nexus 7 stuff but I'm pretty new to it and was running 4.1.2 until recently, I see 4.2.2 was released but couldn't see any concrete feedback on how it compares to say custom roms like smoothrom based on 4.2.1. Do you guys find it better than say smooth rom in UI performance and battery? I'm not sure if I should change to 4.2.2 or stick with 4.2.1 custom roms with performance/smoothness tweaks for now.
Thanks
Smoother here.
I found my N7 sped up with 4.2.1 anyway when I cleared up some space. Havn't loaded it down since, so that may be the reason.
The main reason I want back to 4.1, was the broken Bluetooth Audio, but that also seems to be much improved in 4.2.
Will give rooted 4.2.2 stock a shot then, thanks
I've been on 4.2.2 for a few hours and I must say the wireless appears to be erratic! I'm sitting between 2 APs with same SSID so I don't know if the roaming settings are too aggresive...but seems worse than 4.2 was
I'm hoping Bluetooth is better than it was as my creative headset would constantly go out of sync on 4.2!

I'm running the latest Paranoid Android 4.2.2 nightly and it's running perfect. The Bluetooth works with the flashable zip fix just fine. I use my sixaxis controller with it and it's flawless. Benchmarks are about the same as before, but I don't really pay attention to them. I would recommend updating, I regret not doing it sooner.

I am actually noticing better WiFi performance with 4.2.2. I don't have to use better WiFi anymore, it switches seamlessly between my 2 routers with the same ssid. 4.2.2 made my nexus 7 run a lot smoother and faster, all around it was a good decision to upgrade.

Bluetooth was pretty much screwed on all devices by 4.2.x. I have a Nexus 7 and a HTC One XL, which I used to tether via bluetooth. This worked perfectly when both devices were on 4.1.2. Now the devices pair and the Nexus 7 claims to be using the One XL for internet connectivity, but it doesn't work and says network unreachable when I ping from terminal.
I never use bluetooth audio on my Nexus, but I do use it on my One XL. That's pretty much screwed since 4.2.x as well, with poor quality and crackling. There's a massive google bug report thread on it, which actually looks like I've not got it as bad as a lot of people!
Where do you find the flashable bluetooth fix? Is it just for Nexus 7?
cyanogenmod 10.1/ 4.2.2 my nexus 7 is now a lot smoother than on 4.2.1!

Hi there,
I use stock 4.2.2 with apex launcher and its the most fluent and rapid thing. Scrolling feels so good. I am new to nexus 7 and JB, but from what i have seen so far im loving it.
In terms of web browsing and performance in general its quite good. I had galaxy tab 2 7" before nexus and it just not match the smotherness and performance of the N7. Its impressive.

Funny, i never use landscape. Only for media play, or some games that come landed by default.
Apart of that, i always use it 'phone-wise'.
