[Q] Nokia Lumia 520 wont't connect to Wifi - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I bought a Lumia 520 the day before and it works just fine. I could connect to my home wifi till this morning, now it keeps giving me the error saying "Connection Unsuccessful, Your device could not connect to the network as there was no response from the network.", All my other devices, the laptop, and my parents phones can connect to wifi. I checked the router settings and MAC and IP filtering is disabled. I tried creating a hotspot on the other phones and the lumia could connect to that, it just wouldn't connect to the home wifi. Please help

[Q] Hd7 cant connect to adhoc networks?

please tell how can i connect to adhoc networks using hd7 i created on with windows 7 and my laptop but hd7 never even shows up it in networks to connect.
if you are trying to use your computers internet connection on your phone you dont need to connect to an adhoc netowrk. just plug your phone into your computer using your usb cable and turn off the data connection on the phone. i believe this only works with a pc though.
yes u are right.. i am in malaysia and tried to connect to the starbucks wifi, adhoc and i could not get connected, my TP2 was connecting there with ease..

Try rebooting the Wi-Fi access point your trying to connect to, I have to do that to my Buffalo Wi-Fi router from time to time and then the phone will connect OK. Its worth a try.

Hi, I have the same problem...
You need to set your Network Location to Private,it happened with me also,i don't know why but when i installed W10 the network changed automatically to Public and because of that i couldn't connect anymore,it take a while for me to discover that, but finally it's working again.
Not for me....

Click to collapse
Mine is still a Private Network and my Z3C will NOT connect -- meaning my phone cannot connect to my computer. It connects to the Network like a champ
There is a very odd thing: when trying to add the wireless device within Windows 10, it asks for a specific WPS PIN for the cell phone. This is NOT the same WPS PIN used to connect to the router...we (Chat Support) tried those. So somewhere there is a WPS PIN for the D5803 (sort of like the default ones used for Bluetooth devices). That's the key to unlocking Wifi access, but Chat Support could not give me any information.
Someone on Z3v forums gave this solution which worked for me:
Run 'secpol.msc' (just type when you click start) and change your network to private (network list manager policy - right click on your network - properties - network location - set locatiuon type to private), reboot.
Hope it works.
