Xperia T has the biggher Screen (4,55 inch) vs 4,3 on Xperia V. Xperia V is water resistant. idk which one is better. I got the T and I'm happy with it. Roms for both are more or less the same
if you prefer something "nice" in your hand, and you like it a bit more heavy. you know, the feeling when a real "machine" is sliding in your hand. then take the Xperia T. The screensize-hardwaresize relation is better on the Xperia T. The XV has more device around the screen^^
i have an example for you: The T is the rough, more heavy spade, you know. a thing a man like to hold in his hand, when he work in the garden. good size, good feel.
the V is more a cheap and less heavy spade from the supermarket. it maybe feels too light in the hand. you feel worry about it and its size. (my opinion):silly:
but before i forget, the V is waterproof. so if you like to chat with your gf or bf under shower, better take the Xperia V.
if iam right, the V has changeable battery, if you have a focus on that feature, then you will not be happy with the XT, it has no removable battery. i mean if you have a bit knowledge, then you also can change battery on XT, but not officially.
oh i have one more thing: the xperia T will have official OmniRom support. and we have a supernice Miui v5, based on stock sony rom, with great batterylife.
dont get me wrong, the Xperia V isnt a bad phone, for me it just cannot compare with the Xperia T.
short answer, hold them, squeeze them, decide then, buy then.
if you liek to flash custom roms, then have an eye on the bootloader unlock allowed: yes or no!

This kind of reply does help a lot. Thank you!
Well, I see that the Xperia T got it into Sweden, even though it was said to be the international model and the Xperia V the Scandinavia / Nordic countries focused one..
1) Which one gives better battery life?
2) Which is best custom ROM / kernel supported?
3) Which one offers the best camera performance?

Xperia T has 13 mega pixels and the pictures are pretty good (at least at good light), also I think that T has a little better rom support, but theres no big difference as they're pretty similar. Can't tell about battery life though

I want to add two points:
1. The removable battery is useful, when I mod my phone and it would hang. With no removable battery I'd need to wait until the battery is completely depleted. Or unscrew the phone. The phone hung already a number of times. Waiting for an empty battery can be up to 50 h.
2. I think the property to withstand water should not be underestimated. No needing to worry about the weather protection, for example when I go out for cycling, on the motorbike. Or taking pictures of my kid when at the pool I don't need to worry dropping into the water. Immersing it into the pool water and watching the screen on is a bit eery first. I personally do not think the USB flap will hold up that test very long, but I do think it still withstand splashes and rain well, even with a "worn" flap.
As the others above said, both are pretty similar, and I personally don't really see the point for Sony having two products in their range which differ so little. It seems not useful to decide on basis of technical specifications. I would entirely decide on basis of your personal preferences in terms of battery flexibility, screen size and water resistance.

ehm, no...thats not true. if you end in freeze or whatever, you can power+volume up some seconds, hard reset.
short: you not need to wait till battery empty, use key-combination...this cannot be a pro argument for XV

I stand corrected. I did not know this also works on freeze.
Hard reset "boots" you up were to? To a CWM which is hopefully there?
no automatic boot in recovery.
honestly im not sure how it works exactly, because my last freezes/bootloops are some time agoooooo
look, i found the thread for 2012 modells

but to come back ontopic:
i would say the XT has more to offer regarding custom roms. at least the XT has the better running custom roms.
we can look forward the newly omnirom, the T will be officially supported
then we have the awesome MIUI v5
we have different themed and tweaked stock based sony roms, a honami rom, and we have AOKP
there are also some Cyaniogenmods, ChameleonOS, PAC (support for that stopped if iam right)
good roms for locked and unlocked bootloaders.
Last time I've checked the T does not have an LTE support. If the gsmarena specifications are correct (http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4958&idPhone2=4899), the T screen supports only 4 finger multitouch and the V - 10. Although I don't know what you'll be doing with 10 fingers on a 4.3" screen . And yes, the battery is removable on the V model.

The rear cover has a rubber around the battery area for water resistance. It's quite clever.
What I trust lesser are the flaps for the two ports. The one for USB is used on daily basis. A free dock should be supplied with the phone (which actually applies to all this phones with contemporary abysmal battery life, IMO).

That's the reason I got the dock from the shop
Apart from that, after 6 months of use those flaps are still waterproof. It's very enjoyable to watch your colleagues' faces while washing the phone

I checked. I learned hard reset is when booting up the phone, not when UI is frozen. Therefore: No phone without removable battery for me.

AGAIN. if the UI is freezing OR if you fazing bootloop, you can shutdown the phone with power button+volum up. its a FACT.
No need to wait till battery empty. i not understand how you can think you have to wait till battery is empty. NOT true.
you seem to misread
SOFT RESET = 1 vibration then let go of buttons (hold about 3 seconds); Like hitting REBOOT.
HARD RESET = 3 vibrations then let go (about 10 seconds); Like taking out the battery.

And as a XT user i can confirm this, i never ever waited till my battery is empty.
The removable battery argument isnt that necessary, like many people in the internet make it. but whatever, personal taste and so on ...

I understand it works on a working phone and on a bootlooping phone. But it did not work on my frozen V. Otherwise I would not have needed to take the battery out. But I understand it works on your frozen T. So the case is cleared. :good:

Hi everyone,
For months I am eagerly waiting for the Xperia V to be released in France (it will be this week, with JB on board). But this morning I found a review from a quite serious blog (in French) and it sort of discouraged me :
- They had major 3G connectivity issues, which is a huge turn-off for me
- They say the screen is not that great after all (too yellow-ish, despite BRAVIAEngine 2)
- They found lots of non-uninstallable bloatware (Adobe Reader, McAfee, some games, etc.)
- They found lots of bugs (camera focus, SOD when using GPS and music player), despite the JB ROM !
Now I'm wavering :
- Is this Xperia V a good choice ? From what I can read on XDA forums, owners of this V seem happy with their choice, but for example, has someone experienced any 3G connectivity issues since the JB upgrade ? Are the other bugs really annoying ?
- I was planning to wait a few months before getting rid of Sony software and get CyanogenMod on this Xperia V ; now that I see the bugs I want to get CM as soon as possible, but is it safe to avoid the warranty of a smartphone right after spending €500 for it ?
- In a nutshell : is the Xperia V a good choice ? (I want a phone that runs JB smoothly on a minimum-300dpi screen, with a micro-SD slot, a removable battery, LTE-compliant, and that I can handle with one of my small hands )
Thanks to anyone who can help me decide whether to buy it or not...

The points you list at the end overlap quite a bit with my criteria for picking the V, and I don't regret it at all. I was hoping Sony would push this model more than they have and that it would get strong sales so that "smaller" phones might not end up in a low-spec ghetto. Anyway, to address your points:
- The 3G connectivity issues may very well have to do with the network settings being set by default to connect to LTE. I had major issues until I changed the settings (my contract doesn't include LTE). Since then, no problems. If the review unit had this setting on, that's probably what happened.
- The display quality seems ok to me. This isn't honestly that huge a thing for me, so maybe somebody else has a stronger opinion on it than I do.
- There's no such thing as "uninstallable" . There is a (somewhat complicated) method for rooting the V without unlocking the bootloader, so as not to void your warranty. I didn't have any of the bloatware that you listed on mine, so it must be carrier-added bloat. I'm new to Xperia and I unlocked mine after about a week, so I may be wrong about this, but I think you can flash .ftf's with a locked bootloader, and just use a generic version of the firmware and voilà - no more bloat!
- I've never had a SOD. The only bug I've dealt with since upgrading to JB is long pauses between tracks when using the Walkman app. Admittedly a pretty big deal for me, I can only hope that since "Walkman" is pretty much synonymous with "Sony", they'll get this one sorted sooner rather than later.
Satisfied with everything except for the battery consumption while on data. Came from Galaxy Nexus. I leave data on for the whole day with my Nexus and it lasts. With this Xperia V, i turn off the data and switch to GSM when not in use.

Carriers are well-known to add in lots of bloatwares. Nothing to do with the phone. But currently there's no working version of CM10.1 (JB 4.2.x), though.
The FreeXperiaProject are on it, albeit not high in their priority list.
Those who tested the current testing version of CM10.1 reported that the ROM is too damn smooth. xD
So for us to have a working version of CM10.1, it will take some time...
Disclaimer: I don't personally own a V, but a T instead.
- Among all the phones I have used, I personally haven't ran into any phone with connectivity issue. Most of the times, it's due to either telco bad signals or half-baked ported roms (i.e. CM10.1), which is probably the less of your concern. However, I heard that V was equipped with 4G (whereas T was not), so you might want to explore this more.
- V screen is far superior compared to T (and maybe Z as well), according to comparison videos and videos I have seen so far. I'd love to have the V display screen.
- From what I saw, V and T shared the same bloatwares. Most of the bloatwares on T are Sony media connection utilities, which are not that annoying. EA Games, OfficeSuite and other stuff I don't really use can be deleted. Coming from a Nexus, I'm surprised that bloatwares did not annoy me at all.
- T suffers from a Walkman bug, that's all. I'm not sure about V.
Yes, you should buy it. It's the only phone with 720p resolution and ergonomic screen size, yet maintain a decent performance, and better yet, an SDCard slot.

Personally I love my Xperia V, there is no phone I would have rather bought. Well maybe Z. It just feels awesome in my hands, looks awesome, is really snappy, the camera is a beast in my opinion and the waterproofig is a plus too.
There are some disadvantages of course, the main one being the lack of developers. I know, I shouldn't "whine" about it, they do it for free and because they want to and I should start deving my self if I'm not satisfied. But I won't. Coming from HTC Desire I was a bit disappointed (shouldn't use that word) to see the lack of roms and mods etc. The battery is a bit too small too, I thought that smartphones would last longer nowadays, but nah, it's a minor upgrade to HTC Desire for example.
Another problem is that my phone seemed a bit bugged right out of the box, orientation sensor would sometimes get stuck and not rotate the screen. I took it to Sony care, let's see what they can do about it. Probably nothing, since the it happens very randomly.

I loved my old HTC Desire. What a great phone it was.
I'm hoping to buy an Xperia V this weekend, too. I'm worried about battery life; has anyone bought an extended one?
I'm using an Xperia V, and I have rooted, added cwm, debloat the wares, still locked bootloader.
I heard that V have two kinds of screen too. And my screen's black color is truly black, not gray like T .
I've tested a film on my phone and my laptop, I just have to say that BE2 is great, it enhances the colors on the film, which is very nice, I've made a comparison with my friend's Xperia T, the BE2 sometimes enhances the colors too much which makes it a little bit unreal, but to tell the truth, most of the time, it makes u feel that the image is greater than the original xD
I'm from Vietnam, we only have 3G. But the connection speed is great, it doesn't take me long to download apps from Play Store . I think it may depends on your signal and the network provider speed . Cuz it depends in my country, if you have full signal, you will got speed around 6-7.2 mbps, but I usually got around 3-5mbps .
About Sony apps, Walkman has some bugs with playing, soon it will be fixed. SoD appears suddenly, I don't know if it just with GPS ). But this is a serious problem, it will be fixed soon either. And about the camera, I myself love the main camera with it's great speed of shoot, but the front camera sucks :|, I love the front camera of Xperia S more
One little thing I want to say that I love the water proof of this phone ). My friends' iPhone can't do that, and that's the way I troll them with my Xperia
Thank you all for your feedbacks, just bought my Xperia V this morning for €429 (great deal on Sony France e-shop, due to the loooong wait) !
I'll receive it next week, will root it as soon as possible to get rid of bloatware, change the networking settings since my contract isn't 4G, and wait for CM 10.1
I'm eagerly waiting for Xperia SP, or should I buy this Xperia V?
Plus of Xperia V : water/dust resistant, 13 MP camera
Plus of Xperia SP : bigger screen and battery capacity, higher CPU and GPU
Any suggestions?

Buy the SP. The V's flaps will soon fall out. Mine is already sticking out. If you want a waterproof one get the Z as they use a different and stronger material for their flaps. However if you're on a budget get the SP. It's high CPU ans GPU makes up for not having waterproof.

The LED strip and GPU is good. I mean it has an old processor but it's 1.7Ghz Dual Core. It's fine for me. It's also faster than the V. I have the V and overtime you'll lose water resistance as the flaps will fall off. Mine is already sticking out.

How long did it take for the flaps to fall out ? I have mine for 3 weeks now and despite the fact that they feel a bit fragile, I think if I take care of them they will hold on...

my only, and i mean only slight disapointment at this device is the screen, it washes out when viewing from large angles, which is negligble most of the times, unless you're for somereason trying to watch what someone else is doing on your phone while he's far from you.
other than that it's absolutly perfect, water resistent, very fast and snappy, battery lasts a day and sometimes two, volume is descent and camera is great once you figure out how to take goodnight shots.
i don't find the 8GB internal to be too small, i have a lot of apps installed including a few big games, for multimedia i just have my 16GB sd card.

Otherwise I m very happy with it.
Big screen but not too big.

But why don't you wait a little more and buy a Z1s....
Not good at all
Because of:
1.Very little to No developer support for our device
2.Volume is very low
3.Probably no KitKat for our wonderful device
4.Camera is not nice,in any condition its just too grainy and zooming on a picture is pointless as it gets very bad
5.Shortage of accessories
6.Sony's service is very poor
7.No warranty on water proof.....
Etc.
Other than this the experience is great
Not on device but on android and a nicely designed phone.

1. almost every xz rom works on ZR with a little tweaking, you have miui and CM also, kikat will have to get to ZR if it gets to Z it's practicly the same, mybe a month later.
the camera is defenetly one of the better ones, night shots require to use manual mode to get better resaults, someone did comparison with galaxy s4 in the pictures thread and when done right quiality is the same.
shortage of accessories is also wrong, you have original sony dock and cheaper excellet docks on ebay, plenty of covers and screen procetors...

+ Software (lightly skinned, no TouchWiz crap here)
+ Build quality
+ Fast and snappy with no lag
+ Sony media apps are nice
+ STAMINA mode
+ Can use with a dock
+ IP58 certified waterproof and dust proof
+ Excellent camera with proper camera button
- Notification light is too dim and colour can't be changed
- Lack of accessories (can't even get a proper leather case)
- Port covers likely to get damaged with constant open and close action
- Soft keys (prefer Samsung home button)
- Screen is washed out and looks rubbish compared to AMOLED but it's not as bad as the reviews
Hello guys,what's up?
Im new to the forum, and i would really appreciate it if you help me make up my mind about buying the Z1,I've been reading about it and its features, watching videos and everything but still can't make up my mind as I have never met someone who has been using it and though I don't know how it works in real life.Is it really worth it?What kind of troubles can I face while using it? and the most important question,do you guys think that it's better than the Samsung Galaxy s4? in what way?
You have no idea how much i need your help guys,I ll be so greatful !
Peace
In my opinion it is a very good phone, it has amazing performance, good battery life, beatiful and structured ui, with good light the camera performs well (whit less light only in manuall mode), in my opinion beatiful design and in case of brightness and witheness the Display is fantastic, also the viewing angles are good but not perfect
Another aspect is that Sony has a good relationship with the dev. comunity (I Think) !!!
A littlebit annoying is the sensitive screen in case of scratches, but it is not that bad with some screen protectors xD
All in all it is a good phone with much better software than the sgs 4 ,in my opinion, also the metal frame feels very nice in comparrison to sgs 4´s platic and fake metal Frame More over it is water resistant (Very nice Feature)
All in all I can recommend it to you

Thank you so much for your reply,I agree with what you said, but do you think that what Sony offers can top some of the exclusive features of the sgs4?such as the air gesture, air view, eye control and the built in barometre and thermometre? Honnestly that s what standing in my way to get the z1,thinking that i ll miss all these exclisivities from the s4 not to mention that the s4 is rated to be a lot more reparable than Sony!
I can unserstand what you are saying, but I think these features aren´t necessary !!! I know a lot people using sgs 4 and simply nobody is using most of Samsungs special features !! In addition most of them aren´t working fine so you won´t be able to use the correctly xD oreover all those fetures are using battery so you are loosing a lot of (truly it is changable) !!!
Hopfully I could help you and don´t forget to hit the ´´Thanks´´ button

The S4 isn't a bad phone but compared to the Z1, the S4 has a slower Snapdragon 600 processor and GPU, smaller battery, poor build quality (plastic back and frame)
All depends on your Budget though,
I've had Samsung phones for over 3 years now, let me tell you that most of the Samsung features are just gimmicks. You wont even use %75 of those things in your cell, unless you want to show off in front of your Iphone friends

I think, but i´am not sure, you will get two years of battery warranty by Sony, but only phones with bulit in battery like the z1 !!! And I heard that modern batteries will loose only 15 % of their capacity after a bit more than 1000 times of complet charging xD

I wouldn't say that the S4 is "poor build quality" just because it's made out of plastic. It's a less desirable material, but it's still selling well.
If you're getting a phone now, it would be foolish to get an S4 when its replacement is just around the corner. I wouldn't choose this phone unless you don't care about keeping up with the latest and greatest.
I would personally be stuck between the Z1, Nexus 5, and the Note 3.
Everyone knows that the Nexus 5 is the best bang for the buck. It's not a fancy phone, but it has some top-line specs at a low price point which makes this compelling to everyone.
The Note 3 is actually not much bigger physically against the Z1, but the screen size is a good .5 inches larger. You might not use the stylus as much as you think you would, but 3rd party development as well as accessory availability is much higher than any of the 3.
The Z1's selling point is the camera and body. Megapixels mean nothing, but it's got one of the best specs. Aluminum and glass body for the iPhone-like feel.

The battery of Xperia Z1 is so nice. I watched video with maximum voice. And I turned on the flashlight then take photos. The capacity of the z1 battery reduced slowly. The color of the photo taken by S4 is bright. But S4 was burning hot after playing games.
At the moment, the Z1 is right up there, just make sure you get a phone that is bootloader unlockable if you plan to in the future, i didn't like an idiot.
other alternatives are the note 3, LG N5 and the LG G2, all good phones and you most likely won't regret any purchases, I went with the Z1 as it's the right size for me, has a crazy camera and it's water proof, the pace of the phone is superb and it's build quality is top notch.
The choice is always yours tho m8 and it doesn't really matter what other people say, it's down to what you think in the end.
Looking back now, if i could have done it again, i might have given the note 3 another look, maybe even a glare
Forget the S4, it wasn't up to much when it came out, overheating issues, random reboots and a lot of phones simply just dying, at the time the HTC One for me anyway was the logical choice, still my favorite phone, albeit with a slightly slower processor, i'd even got as far to say that the One holds it's own with the newer batch, only problem is that when newer phones come out the One might feel dated in terms of performance.
You see I found them at almost the same price!

Umm,Im not so sure what "bootloader unlockable" means,is it about the ability to change roms and roots and stuff? (not much into this ) but it'd be so nice of you if you explain it more. The guy at the phone store did mention something about having to unlock the phone before he could sell it,is that it?
I appreciate your help dude!
Is any off-contract (full price) Z1 bootloader-unlockable? I assume the locked-down ones are carrier-subsidized...
I would have recommended the Z1 untill Sonys half-arsed 4.3 release ballsed-up the bluetooth stack making the phone useless in my car as I cannot use it now on hands-free................................

The guy at the store shouldn't really have to do anything with the phone to sell it, especially unlocking it. ?
Unlocking the bootloader gives you a bit more freedom to do what you want with the phone, so if you were to root it (BL unlock isn't required for root) and then you wanted to install a rom like Paranoid android or Cyanogen mod or any rom that requires a custom kernel then you will need to have the ability to unlock the handset, I personally can't unlock mine cos I stupidly went with a provider directly, also bare in mind that the bootloader unlock or not isn't anything to do with the sim being locked, they're not related.
If you have no plans to unlock the bootloader then i'm sure you'll love the Z1, i've had literally no problems with mine, everything is fast and stable (bar the odd random reboot which happens once a week if that) i'm still running 4.2 and it suits me quite well, I am rooted and I have exactly the right amount of mods installed that I would want from any other phone, also the pace of the phone is blistering so i don't really have a need to install custom kernels anyway and the CM based rom's are good but I never really stick with them for very long anyway, so not a deal breaker for me.
Just so you know, unlocking the bootloader will most likely void your warranty so be aware before you commit, rooting is reversible and won't touch your warranty, unless you send it to them rooted, just flash an FTF to revert back to normal.

Not all carriers disallow the unlock.
well i lost my xperia zl and need a new primary phone quite urgently...cant decide between xperia t and sp (yes in a bit of tight budget)
what am basically after right now is the display and battery life...also how does the xperia t perform as compared to sp ..is it very noticable? (tbh i would prefer a little low graphic detail than overheating and throttling)
my pros for t :
Roms i like are available
way better deign
cheaper
worries about t:
performance
battery
any suggestion is appreciated
If I were you I would take a look at the Motorola moto g. It has a nice screen in my opinion and battery life is great. It performs better than my T and it has android 4.4. The only con is the camera which is kind of bad. I don't know about rom development for the moto g but I assume there's quite a lot. And best of all, it's cheap!

Talking about battery life on screen time is about 4-4:30 hours with normal behaviour I'm getting through the day but struggle in the evening when battery is low
If I were you I would wait a bit and see what is coming in the next months in the middle price segment because T is would not be my first choice ( bought it because of the price as well and the bad camera in the moto g and missing sd slot) BTW what bugs me most is this unbelievably tiny notification led... Had an XPERIA S and that one you could actually see from all perspectives, the one from XT I'd hardly to notice when looking at it directly... :'( why the hell Sony

My opinion is that T is a better phone than SP even though SP has a higher battery and slightly higher processor.
The T has a much better build quality than the SP and the design of T makes it easier to hold and use than SP.
SP does have the nice illumination bar but then it could be too bright at night or even stand out too much in a office environment, where the subtle notification led of T is better. I also hated the size at first but when you get used to the phone, you know which spot you need to focus on to see if it is blinking.
Performance might differ to individuals as it is dependant on how many apps you have.
Battery wise, I've gone from 100% to 0% in just over 4 hours with constant screen on usage on varying phone signals (being on train...).
One issue with my T is that others do not hear me well on the other end if I speak softly and I've narrowed it down to the actual microphone on phone.
Thanks Guys
ive placed my order for the T ...should get my device in a week
Good choice going for T. It's a well rounded device. I have it for over an year now and had no major problems with it.

Xperia TX
Hi to all.
I'm planing to by another phone. Budget is limited so there is not to much to pick.
Xperia seems good option because of big screen, LTE connectivity, premium design, important to me a very good camera and at the end is a flagship, but an old one, and that is my only concern.
So, my question is, should i by some newer(new) budget mid ranger or should give a try to Xperia Z? What is your experience with XZ?
Thanks
Ive had mine for a year now and do not intend to replace it any time soon. It runs all the current apps and games!
If your budget is tight, then get a Moto G, or OnePlus One or Nexus 5. Plenty of well specced devices around.

I bought mine 1 year and a half ago, and I can't be happier.
It's an excellent phone, great processor, ram, camera, water proof, design, development ( I had Lollipop from 1st day like a Nexus ), fullhd, 5"...
No need to spend 500€ to get a "rocket" smartphone.

Thanks guys for the reply, for now is tight.
I would like to hear more opinions of owners.
What about screen on time? Now when is for example more then one year old? I don't play heavy games, mostly surfing, taking pictures, little facebook, and a lot texting and calling. And flashing roms of course
For me everything over 3 hours is good.
U can get maximum of 4.5 hours if u r not a gamer ( my experience with games 4 hour screen on time).. May b u will get around 5 hours screen on time if u play with some tweaks..
I bought my XZ this last year in November and I couldn't be happier. Ok, screen on time is not the best out there but, at least for me, it's enough. SOT performance goes between 3-4,5 h, which IMHO I think isn't bad. You could also underclock/undervolt it in case you want to expand its autonomy a bit else.
It depends on the price you are getting at, I would say go for z1 if the price difference is minimal. I've used both, choose the one in your budget
dont buy a Sony phone, they about to go out of business lol
I suggest no.
Xperia Z has following cons:
- Back glas went off due to bad glue.
- CPU throtthling while gaming due to thermal problems, games start to stutter. Device is getting hot while gaming. On 4.4.4 it a little bit better.
- Wifi and Bluettooth disconnects. Search for forums with this problem. You will hate that problem when you decide to get a Smartband. There i no fix for that.
- Weak Battery. I heavily modified my stock rom with tweaks for longer lasting battery, i reduced wakelocks, etc, but still only 1,5 days only with normal use (i dont use LTE). It loses too much battery on standby.

So you came here from the HTC forum, proud of that you succeeded in unlocking the achievement? I find this behaviour a tiny bit bizarre, wondering what are you trying to prove? I mean, if you worship HTC, please remain in your little temple there. There's plenty of terrorist everywhere and nobody needs another one to come, terrorise Xperia or potential Xperia users.
Back on topic:
If you like Sony, just get another Xperia. They're not going out of business anytime soon as if anyone bothered to read, they're exploring (highly unlikely though) to start a jv or selling the business to another company. Of course if that happens, which have a remote chance, you're probably still be receiving smartphone support in the new business arrangement.

- Back glass just fine, over 1.5 years old
- Name one device that doesn't throttle (and doesn't stutter while throttled)
- Wifi and Bluetooth fine as long as you don't use a smartband
- Battery life is average, not really bad but nothing special either, standy is great with the right kernel
Thats my Xperience, no major problems so far.
But really better deals for the money out there.
I guess it depends on the price..
But in today's terms the XZ really isn't great. Like others have said, newer mid-range phones have overtaken the XZ.
Battery life has always been the only major drawback for me using the XZ. In this day and age you should be able to use your phone as much as you like, not holding off reading emails / replying to tweets otherwise it'll die before you get home
You're lucky to get 4 hours screen on time, it's not exactly efficient in standby mode either.
the amount of money you are going to spent just get One Plus One or if you are on budget cost wait till you got abit more money to get a better device
Well, it's a wonderful phone, the main issue with it is the battery
As others said if your gaming is at minimum (1 hour Max a day) you can actually get it to work 8 hours, even more if no gaming and used the stamina mode
Other than that, it's easy to root at all times and relatively easy to flash and customize.
And it will be officially update to lollipop.
I say if z1 is in your range get it only for the battery issue.. If not the XZ is great
Z is a great device.. But u can also buy 1+1 since it has Z2 specs and a better front cam.. It lacks Water resistance like XZ though and the multimedia features won't be like a SONY.. So choose ur needs first and then select the one suitable.. Although i haven't experienced any of the issues which are mentioned in the thread yet.. I hope i won't too.. But still my XZ can beat the s**t outta One M7 & all their desire phones, any iPhone, any S**tsung.. If you are a rough handler of the phone, i suggest u to buy XZ coz its built better and 1+1 seems kinda delicate compared to Sony..

lol what company hire this moron? he cant even finished a sentence correctly.
I most probably will take XZ if i get good offer. But also maybe wait for month or two to see what will came out.
I also considering to buy SGS4 but i prefer Sony over Samsung. Only reason to take S4 will be the battery life. But like i said before i can live with 3+ hours of sot. Currently i'm using LG O4X which have vary bad sot. 2:30 is max that i can get. And all kind of problems with RIL, it's really "demanding" device, thanks to developers i still using him, but i think not for long.
Thanks

Can you spell out some of those mid-range phones that are better than the XZ? my GF wants a new phone, and i cant seem to find a device thats as thin as the Z, has a fullHD 5" screen and 2gigs RAM and a 5.0 update for similar money...
this really isnt a sarcastic question. I just want to know what are those mid-range devices with these specs, so i can buy her a better phone and save some cash?
btw with heavy usage my Z never died on me until i came home(which means the whole day). im sorry if you use battery hogging apps that dont let your device sleep when you turn off the screen...
@Tommy-Geenexus
Do you really suggest that old spec phone to buy someone, with known not solved software problems on top of serious casing and thermal design flaws?
There are better options on the market. For that money you can have a LG G2 or a Galaxy S4 or a Honor 6 or One+ One.
