Yup, take a look at xsenman's thread, but just a quick question, does it show you any kind of kernel screen as all? Semaphore, Mackay kernel, cyanogenmod kernel etc etc?

Like Soryuu say ,maybe the kernel is killed ???

I've had something like this before and the way I fixed this was to download the .tar version of Semaphore - not a .zip - and flash it through Odin under PDA. That caused the kernel to come up, in which case I booted into recovery and flashed whatever rom it was (I don't remember now), and then after that there were no problems.

Yes someone here in the forum told me ,only flashing Sema-Kernel via Odin (.tar) noch with zip-file because actually CM 10.2 won?t support that, i don`t know if it is correct, but i flased sema via Odin with every nightly and i haven`t any problems until now ...:good::good:

SGS problem .

My SGS has developed a fault 2 days ago I switched the phone off & the next thing I know is I get what looks like a battery laid on its side on the main screen, it appears for 15 seconds then dissapears for 15 seconds & repeats. I can find no way to turn the phone back on while it is like this & have resorted to reloading 2.3 Gingerbread but if once reloaded I then switch the phone off then the problem comes back.
Has anybody come across this problem before & knows how to cure it or is my phone knackered ?
I tried to add a picture of the symbol on the screen & I do not have enough posts to be allowed to.
Have you tried charging it? Silly question but you would be surprised.......

No question is silly, but yes I have charged it
Have you tried flashing a "stock Rom" yet?...
Hopefully this will mean more to you than it does to me !
Is this a "stock rom" :-
firmware 2.3.3
Baseband version I9000XXJVK
Kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVK-CL75655 [email protected]#2
Gingerbread.XXJVK
If it is not a stock rom were can I find one ?
Thanks
Colin

Many thanks, just installed jvq but still have same fault
I would try an ezbase flash, search in dev for ezbase and follow instructions to the letter, this should get you up and running on a basic rooted deodexed rom, from there you can try a reflash of whatever you want

[Root] Help, can't root v20c

Posting on behalf of a friend. Here goes:
0) Yes, we've read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105
1) Stuck on V20C. The official LG update utility says this is the most up-to-date version.
2) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1442588
3) Have tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480392
4) Have tried method on Cyanogenmod wiki.
Nothing worked. Is there a method that's confirmed to work for V20C out there, or have we just screwed up something? Attempting to eventually install Cyanogenmod.

indeed you can't downgrade using LG updater.. no problem, friend, here's your solution..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1448803
1. download the v10a firmware
2. install the firmware using SmartFlash Tool
3. root the v10a using blackjack
4. install ROM manager, and from there, install CWM
5. you can use the CWM recovery to install another custom ROM
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566532 by the end of it you'll have your version ready to flash and root at your will

Ah, thank you very much.
We weren't aware that the methods for V20C and other V20 firmwares were interchangeable - after several failed attempts and several more perusals through XDA we were beginning to suspect that V20C was unrootable as nobody seemed to mention this version.
Glad we were wrong, now happily running CM7. Phone is reportedly much faster and responsive now. Thanks for the help!

Rooting Samsung i9000 DXJPA and installing Cyanogenmod using Heimdall

Hi all,
I want to root my Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 and install Cyanogenmod 9 on it.
I'm using a Mac and will be using Heimdall.
The problem is I don't know where I can find the correct version of Clockworkmod for my phone. Can anyone point me in the right direction? My phone details are below:

Also, is installing CWM actually rooting my phone or do I need to do something else?
Thanks!

If I do update to 2.3.6, how does that get me closer to rooting my phone?

Yes, because you need the gingerbread bootloaders to install CMx anyway. So do this.
1. Upgrade to 2.3.x with kies or Heimdall. Doesn't matter.
1a. Put the appropriate cm9 files in your SD card. (Gapps, ROM)
2. Flash semaphore or devil kernel .tar files under pda in Odin. Not sure about heimdall sorry!
Note: Please note that recovery is packaged with the kernel on this ROM, so flashing a kernel changes your cwm as well.
3. Now, you phone won't boot, no big deal. All we need is the recovery. Reboot into recovery and flash the cm9 file.
4. Now wipe data / factory reset
5. Reboot, Rejoice, enjoy

What do you mean by repartitioning? Does it make partitions on my sd?
So basically i only need to go on recovery mode and install this along with its gapps? Pls correct me if im wrong.thanks.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk HD
hi
as you know there are several types of partition
in windows there are fat16, fat32, ntfs
in linux there are many diferent types
repartitioning in your tab means this ROM (10.1) needs to run on MTD partition, so its change your tab partition to MTD
in this case you lost all your data such as contacts, app and ...
and the other is when you want to came back to GB ROM you should use ODIN and follow restock rom installation
good luck
Ohh.. now i get what repartition means.. thanks.. ill try to flash 10.1 when i get time. Thanks again

SGS slow booting and all crashing

Hi,
I have problem with SGS. When I got it from my friend there was Android 2.3.3. When i turn on the phone, booting took maybe 30minutes, then all apps started to crash. So I did wipe data and wipe cache in system recovery but it didnt solve the problem. Then I flash over Odin official firmware but still booting takes about 30minutes and all apps are crashing. I tried to flash three files rom via odin too but it didnt help. So please help, i really dont know what to do now, i tried everything
Phone is non-rooted, there is official 2.3.6 but all is crashing so it is unusable.

yes you can, use odin and the download menu of the phone (turn it of, then turn it on and press volume down + home + power buttom for a few sec)
there are a few guids in this forum how to do that, just search for it
