But how do I go about flashing this? I wasn't getting any responses on my other thread that were productive which is why I created another thread.

I'm just not understanding man, I'm not trolling you or anything I'm just an uber-noob.
I deleted the old version of SUPER SU using android file transfer (that version was a .zip file), then loaded this 1.65 version. I then booted to recovery but the 1.65 version wasn't available to install. I *think* its because what I downloaded wasn't a zip file but it was a folder. So I can boot to TWRP but this new version isn't available for me to select to install.

I always Test & make sure My stuff works 100% before I post anything..
P.S.
You need to Wipe before Flashing via ClockworkMod Recovery..
Currently Testing the zImage Flash atm, so I'll likely have an update shortly that lets you flash the zImage as well.

So (just to be clear) Do I download this, rename it to update.zip, then "reinstall" in recovery?
Or do i have to install rom manager, and flash from its boot screen

Don't Rename, well you can... But never rename to update.zip as this is how Clockwork is Used.. You select from install from .zip & select the name...
You and do either
adb reboot recovery from cmd prompt once you Have the update.zip downloaded from Rom Manager
or
You can Flash from Rom Manager.
Hey,
Great work here.
but, one question. I was told by koush during our talks about getting the bricks un-bricked that the only way to flash the baseband/radio was through odin.
does this flash the radio/baseband?
Thanks. Just want to clarify.

Instead of spamming the CWM 3 thread I figured I'd open up a new one. What I'm doing here is rebuilding the ClockworkMOD updates pushed over ROM Manager into fastboot flashable recovery.img files. These are for S-OFF users ONLY. If you're S-ON check ROM Manager for a compatible version.
CWM 5.0.0.1: http://www.mediafire.com/file/h1mdlrftfi4dd4k/CWR-5.0.0.1.img

Works for me! Awesome, thanks!
Hi guys,
What's new with cwm5?
Is it possible to flash radio zip like cwm2 and cwm3 zip like ogo rom.
It's faster, blue and has a new format for backups. Any zip that didn't work with CWM 3 won't work here either.

What version of CWM were the backups made with? And what error does it give when it fails?
CWM 4.0. It always gets stuck on HTC boot screen when trying to restore.

First off I'd like to apologise if this is the wrong forum.
I'm using an old version of twrp on my i9305, 2.3.3.0 to be exact, and I would like to update it to the newest version but I'm not sure how. I've looked on their website and just found it confusing; goomanager isnt supported, it couldn't find the file when I tried using terminal emulator and I couldn't get a response from odin for some reason.
So what's the easiest way to update it for a newb like me to update it?
I believe I used the s3 toolkit last time but I'm not sure which phone to select because I'm using sentinalrom and all the options seemed to be for stock phones. No option for 4.3 phones.
Web site downloads and either cwm zip or Odin tar file .
Sorry for the stupid question but I've downloaded the cwm zip and was wondering whether I have to install cwm or can I flash it using twrp?

I've read the FAQs and can't find anything relating to this. Hence the reason I asked.
Thanks for the useful post though.

The basics would show that cwm is a recovery and twrp is a recovery . You flash through recovery .
So you have more than one copy of your EFS folder backed up good .

OK that is one solution.
But I don't have "mobile Odin"...
how can I convert the TWRP IMG or TAR into a flashable ZIP?
Or can anyone confirm what the correct ADB command is? (I don't think the command from TWRP is correct)
thanks
Here you can find a download for twrp.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46874790

There is a *.tar and a *.zip.
I hope it will help you. I'm using it for myself and it works great!

I wish it was this easy. Every time I try using mobile Odin it crashes, says settings stopped and boots into TWRP... I presume this isn't meant to happen at least?
I think I'll just have to give up. I've tried everything and nothing works for me.

I decided to give it one last try with Odin on my pc and I dont know why but it worked!!! I have no idea why it didn't before, perhaps it was a corrupted file but that doesn't explain why none of the other ways worked either. But the main thing is I'm now running the latest version.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

I needn't have bothered tbh. The only reason I wanted to update the recovery was because most roms wont install on my phone, which is the main reason I'm using sentinelrom, and I had hoped it was because I was using an old recovery but they still wont install.
This phone really is crap. I didn't have any of these troubles with my old x10. It might not have had the power of the s3 but I could flash things at least.
there are two kind of files you can download from the goo
the img file and zip file
the img file is for download mode and the zip file is for recovery mode
you can use mobile ordin or ordin in PC to flash the img fileļ¼or use the old version TWRP to flash the new version in recovery mode
Flashify is another way to update TWRP after downloading the recovery .img manually on your phone. Just be sure to install the right one for your device.
Apologies for the reply to a thread that's been dormant for a month.
Hello,
I just need to ask that Im on rooted 681. I just need to update my dualrecovery. Is It ok that I use the flashable zip and put it on the sdcard and flash it there. I dont know what to do with the old dualrecovery. Will it be updated if I just flash the newest dualrecovery which is flashable zip.
Thanks
The old one will be UPDATED to the new one. Just flash it in recovery

Yes, just flash it....It makes no difference where you put the update.zip, you can also delete it afterwards...it installs the files to the correct places

You need another kernel. When M-Bootlader and M-radio and TWRP are installed you can install a custom rom like JDX and supersu. Check the OP of the JDX thread.

When rooted in 5,1,1 you have probably also TWRP. Than goto the JDX thread,
In the OP you find links for downloading zips with M-bootloader and M-radio and supersu and the JDX rom.

Thanks for the help NLB. I was thinking of something like that along those lines. Can you provide me with a link to the JDX rom? I searched for it and found very little, except some antiquated threads that dont relate to what I'm trying to do. And you were correct, the first thing I did was install TWRP on 5.1.1.
Unless this is the one,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/development/rom-jdx-1-0-t3121053
Would I then install this after flashing back 5.1.1/twrp then go with this? I'm not really sure what you meant by flashing the M-bootloader and radio, would that be after twrp gets flashed?
Look for chainfire's SuperSU beta version 2.52 and also for a modified stock boot.img . This worked fine for me. You can flash the modified boot.img using Wugfresh's advance utilities if you aren't comfortable using the fastboot flash commands.

You need to scroll down to first post section "Instructions" and follow them to the T.
Instructions
0. ensure you are on twrp 2.8.7+ for recovery!
1. flash bootloader if not already on JDX 4.0.x (download flashable bootloader zip)
2. flash radio if not already on JDX 4.0.x (download flashable radio zip)
3. reboot recovery
4. flash ROM
5. format data partition if not already on M
6. boot ROM and sit your phone down for 10 minutes (seriously, things need to finish setting up!)
Download files from here: http://4ndr01d.com/repos/shamu/jdx/
Perfect. Thanks so much. I'm going to do this today. I will update when finished. I'm assuming I need to take the files dated 10/6?

If you have completed step 4. flash ROM you are good to go. Type "yes" to confirm and format. First boot will take some time. Then you give it 10 minutes to set up things under the hood.
