I have an IMAP account set up on an HTC ONE.
Sent email is stored locally in the MAIL apps Sent folder.
I would like the sent email to go to INBOX.SENT so that it syncs to the web server and therefore on to other devices and desktop Thunderbird.
How do I tell an HTC ONE where to save send messages?
Or is there another email app to use instead

Or is there a better email app to use which has that option?

Anyone found an APP that will work with Hotmail with a Captivate? Stock, tablet and even K-9 don't support it. There must be a decent one out there! Thanks!

Stock email app works like a charm with hotmail. I got 2 accounts configured under it and my local provider email also. Never had issues getting hotmail.
If you want to fully managed your hotmail (delete mails on server) then your right default email app on the cappy cannot do it but it can fetch the mail.
EDIT: Tried delete on the server option and it works. Fluke bug probably.
Do a Google search on "Hotmail activesync android" and you should be on your way use stock email to do push Hotmail. server deletion is supported last time I checked.

Correct .. last time i tried it failed miserably.. maybe just a bug or a bad connection.
Haven't tried it personally, but I do use Maildroid for gmail,Yahoo, and my ISP email. All set to push, even free Yahoo.
I used the exchange server for hotmail on my Captivate, worked fine with the stock email. Set it up as exchange, using m.hotmail.com as the server. Your username is your full email address. I don't have a Captivate anymore so I don't know if you need anything else (like port numbers). Google should give you the rest.
Also, if you set it up as exchange you can choose to sync your contacts and calendar with hotmail.

Why is it that when I configure my email accounts under IMAP and send a message that it's only saved on the phone, but not back to my server? That entirely defeats the purpose of IMAP. Have any of you noticed this, and figured out a solution?
Using gmail with imap, a new folder is created named sent(imap) and all sent e-mails from my phone are saved there. Check if you any new folders.
Also, did you select to sync your sent folder?

On my own hosting account, no new folders. Tried sync of sent folder, no dice. This has been a flaw in Sense for a long time and I'm pissed they haven't figured it out yet. Hoping someone else has a solution.

Hi all,
I want to sync the Exhange calendar from work into my private phone, but I don't want the work mails in my private phone.
On the HTC Sensation I could only check calendar and the mail didn't sync.
On the HTC one Inbox of the mail is mandatory and always marked.
Is there a way to unmark it? I have also checked other apps, but couldn't really find anything just for the calendar sync.
Edit: Would be great if I could umark inbox in a system file or something
Have you tried after setup is complete going back into settings, accounts and sync, and un-ticking inbox there? Worked for me just now.

Hi
mail app in BS is not REALLY working " i mean when i choose emails and deleted it' it is showed to be deleted but on computer i can see all messages not deleted "
this not happened with Note 2
thanks

Lots of possible reasons for this. You need to set a setting for an email client to delete from server as well when you hit delete on the client. That or your email was already downloaded to your computer client via pop3 which makes it a separate copy from the server.

It usually happens when you've configured your mail with pop3 protocol. Try to reconfigure it to work with imap or just use ano
thanks .. but i can't change the server to imap , it gives me can't to connect to the server !!
Your server must support the imap protocol. What email server software is it?

Yeah those two are known for not letting you use imap. The problem isn't with the phone or the mail app. The issue is with the protocol. It's just how it works.

I have this problem too. After factory restore this message was consistently appearing on my screen.
Didn't have time to look into it more though. Have you managed to fix it?
Why is Gmail considered an Exchange server? If you are actually using an Exchange ActiveSync server, then there is a limit of 10 devices allowable to be configured to connect as default per user. You will have to clean up some older not in use devices in Outlook OWA. Options > Phone.
I only use Gmail on two devices , my HTC one and my MacBook. I guess this is because of my old devices.
So the question is how would i remove my old devices from my Gmail account?
